  1. well that doesn't seem to work to take you to the right post so here is the photo & text I wrote: The photo department here has 3 point & shoot cameras. I took a picture of them in the case. The yellow one on the bottom is an underwater one & was the most expensive (I am thinking in the $300 range but don’t remember exactly any of the prices…maybe the top one was about $70 & the middle one was in the middle). The guy there said there would be pretty much the same cameras across the fleet, all some of the ships have a newer go-pro.
  2. in the middle of this post there is a photo of the cameras they had on the Sapphire that I took for someone--I think they said the other ships had the newest GoPro...we had a hard time spending all our OBC too spent too much time wandering in the stores with nothing we wanted to even spend 'free' money on--lots of expensive purses, liquor (BIL now has a 10 year supply of liqours)...we did buy some adorable little Stanley USB drives with the last of it (but they were like $8 so don't use up OBC credit very fast)
  3. Thank you--this cannot be stressed too much, especially since the restart, I have not met a single crew member who wasn't so kind & helpful...& so many are new & working so hard to learn everything they need to know ... if I didn't sail Princess for any other reason, I would want to sail for the crew
  4. day 4 dinner lychee & watermelon (another dish that was very different than on other cruises) crawfish vol-au-vent chateaubriand
  5. ok it's been almost a week, lets get the rest of the food posted & start preparing for the next cruise dinner day 3 \\ sea scallop & shrimp cocktail pineapple with candied pistachios beef satay the always wonderful Princess bread (these ones are my sister's favorite...one cruise she told the head waiter & he made sure she had them every dinner after that) penne con cozze lamb shank (sorry its blurry) kalua pig (pretty bland)
  6. thank you for your kind words & following along I posted photos of the laundry in one of my posts (maybe answers to questions?)--you can get tokens from a machine in the laundry room with your medallion the price is in the photo, I don't remember there was a range of dressing up, I did not personally see any tuxes or actual gowns, but everything from collared shirts to suits & ties on men & pants with a dressy top to long dresses for women...I would go with what you are comfortable with & what you can pack I have never done that route, but I would say the Alaska motto would be good...layers! are you in the roll call for that sailing, sometimes there are people who have done the same or similar itineraries & are very helpful have a wonderful trip
  7. the mooring line was in Puntarenas, Costa Rica Oct 2017...I can email it to you if you wish or feel free to grab it from here & share as you want even the umbrella of same ship still different experience (as we had the same on the Majestic in January)...so much difference from trip to trip, but we still keep going back
  8. I am sorry I don't have one...don't drink wine so never went there...there is a thread for the current sailing & maybe someone there could take one for you
  9. it is not consistent, some things show up before sailing, others as they get things planned
  10. we book two rooms & they each have their own booking numbers, get one invoice from my TA but all the Princess stuff I have to log into each booking/Medallion to set up before the cruise...it is a bit of a nuisance as I can't do all the login stuff (which I need to do) with one account. so on the Medallion or the webpage I can do everyone who shares a room from one account, then I have to log out & do all the check in for everyone in the other room with their account. Once the checkin stuff is done I can link thier bookins with mine in the Medallion app as traveling companions & do DMW for the whole group when we did big family groups on Carnival they were all linked & I could do everything from my account...maybe your CVP could link them but my TA hasn't been able to once you are on the ship, everyone whose shipboard accounts are linked to your CC will show up on your statement if you need to monitor them
  11. the food did get better over the course of the cruise...apparently many of the Filipino chefs/cooks decided not to return post covid so there are many new people in the galleys...some things were always good, my BIL who is picky about seafood & can tell if they are substituting one fish for what they claim, was always happy with his seafood, the beef was tender & delicious...other things got better as we went & some like the alfredo they never got right. i have found over my Princess cruises that the exact same dish will not always be the exact same from ship to ship & I have to find what each ship does that I really like & sometimes something I have always looked forward to I have to skip on a certain ship...19 days on the Island & never got a piece of cake that wasn't dry as dirt (the desserts & other pastries were good, the cakes were lovely but too dry to enjoy)
  12. it's in my live from the Sapphire (here: & a couple of posts later are more photos ...the beef the first day is not always great but on the Sapphire it was delicious
  13. just got back on the Sapphire it was abysmal (although another cruiser on that voyage thought it was good)...on the Majestic in Jan (30% full or less it was great)...
  14. sorry, because I am platinum, but I think it is cheaper if you buy before sailing (at least it was in January) this is what I think it is before sailing 1 device = $10/day (also to upgrade from 1 to 4 devices) 4 devices = $20/day after boarding I think it is $15 & $30 the before sailing prices are correct, I am not positive about the post departure prices then the Platinum discount would be 1/2 of any of those but on the first day before we sailed I got the upgrade for $5/day using my OBC
  15. …has finally caught up with the rest of the party before the cruise ends & sheepishly wanders in to the potluck late, carrying a few random offerings inspired by the wonderful posts in this delightful thread… …the love boat dream did not need improving or updating IMHO but the version on the Majestic certainly looked more appetizing than this thing on the Sapphire… …your photo of the condiments in the buffet reminded me of the consternation among passengers & confusion to the crew when they served hotdogs with no mustard available (how unamerican)…we were not only the Sapphire’s return to service cruise but also her first on this side of the world (her current stops in Hawai’i will be her first even though I was told she has been to more ports than any ship in the fleet)…like the Majestic she shows the marks of being built for the Asian market, the first time I got in an elevator & looked to see what floor our destination was on I couldn't tell what button to push because it was only in Chinese… …here is a mooring line for your collection (mostly taken for the cat to scare away any rodents)… …I am surprised at your troubles with getting the same table each night as we have succeeded on the Grand, Majestic & Sapphire this year. The Grand & Majestic were nowhere near full, but the Sapphire was 80+%. Also on every Princess ship since we started telling them about our food allergy issues, the head waiter (now restaurant manager) has take over checking our orders & even bringing the menu the night before incase anything needs to be modified for our needs… …thank you for the deep dive, behind the scenes info on how you do your photos & posts, it will help with mine in the future; I do like doing a live (or at least starting as one—mine is still in progress well after we are home because of the internet issues posting what I wrote & getting my photos to the computer—yes I travel with a computer, when you don’t have to fly, you don’t have to make as many choices about what to leave home) because it helps me remember the details as I go…thank you also for the Shutterfly info as I have been looking for a free cloud storage, my google & dropbox accounts are maxed & I was wondering about Amazon but will look into adding everything to my Shutterfly account… …we will love Hawai’i, it is our favorite itinerary…being older (& perhaps lazier) we do cruise for the relaxation & so love lots of sea days watching the water from our balcony…we may cruise for different reasons but enjoy many of the same cruise things & I have had an absolutely delightful time at your potluck, art gallery & master class in many things…
  16. if the first crew member you asks says only the buffet is open (which sadly sometimes is true depending on staffing), check the patter, the app, or ask agian...many crew don't know about the dining room open on embarkation day
  17. i booked the upgrade from 1 to 4 devices as soon as we boarded & got the 50% discount--waited because we had more OBC than we would use (you should have seen us wandering around the ship trying to find things to buy) & wanted to pay with that not my own money
  18. hope his hip doesn't ruin the trip for the two of you
  19. haven't seen the Princess choir this year on any of our cruises
