  1. it is much easier to go to 46, drop off your luggage & passengers & then one person go to park at the terminal. our sailing on the Sapphire they (9/24) luggage was checked in at 46 not the main (92/93) terminal...embarkation is very easy there except for the confusion of where to go as Princess did not send any information on the procedure
  2. yes, absolutely, do not stress about it...you can also try the website if you want to do it, but they will help you.
  3. depends on the ship/chef...something I have loved on one ship may be completely different on another, sometimes it's still good, other times...not so much,
  4. on the Sapphire recently not all the taps were working so many of the bars were pouring soda from cans (much better than tap soda) but they couldn't give you the can, as others have stated there is an extra charge for that
  5. yes/no game, the marriage one with newlyweds,, old married etc...shows like that were taped & broadcast on the majestic I didn't hate the venue but don't spend much time in the explorers lounge
  6. well today it has gone crazy again! I went to update a celebration & when I click on personal information & documents it goes to a screen to link you booking which won't let me do anything & besides all my bookings are linked. I've tried several times throughout the day ...good thing we're not sailing for awhile so will keep checking
  7. we didn't actually have any chickpeas on ours only listed on the menu but not on the plates, but yes I think they were meant to be crouton like things have a wonderful trip to Hawai'i, it is our favorite itinerary...the crew were universally delightful on the Sapphire & the captain was great
  8. thank you for sharing your cruise,..loving all the details you are sharing!! I am glad to hear they are replacing the panini presses with the ovens...I thought the heated sandwiches in January were much better from the oven on the Majestic than the panini press on the Grand I am loving having a 'window' into life in a Window Suite, have friends who love them but never knew why...I hope you can convince your sister to cruise with you more...
  9. for me yes, I would...I like both the newer & older ships for different reasons it depends on what about your previous experience was distressful to you... older ships will have more maintenance issues & less 'flash' but we have never experienced issues that destroyed a cruise for us...we have had AC problems, balcony leaks, strange smells in the halls on various ships newer ships will have more fancy stuff, different venues, more technology but some people feel they lack the coziness & atmosphere of the older ships I think you might get more info if there was a specific ship you were thinking about, but you will find people who absolutely love & others who will never sail again on any ship in the fleet
  10. yes you can purchase with OBC once you are onboard...last month, I was able to wait until I was onboard & then still buy at the presailing rate in the app before the ship sailed, I don't know if this will work for all cruises, but I had so much OBC it was worth taking the chance... also 4 devices are double the one device rate, so if you are traveling with others (you can share with anyone who logs in with your cabin & DOB) it can be better for one person to get the 4 device plan
  11. our TA always puts this on our booking for my BIL (he doesn't need one for on the ship or cruise, but the ramps to get on in Los Angeles are often too much for him), but as stated above we still have to ask at the port. For disembarkation the letter/flyer you receive a few days before getting off will tell you which lounge to meet in if you need WC disembarkation (Princess crew will get you off the ship & then you will transfer to a portside WC
  12. this is very interesting. .. is it a difference because you are sailing in/from Europe? this is on our current booking: but when I searched the terms & conditions it only says the beverage package & wifi...are they getting ready to change the package? Princess Plus & Princess Premier - Princess Cruises
  13. if you use OBC for tips it goes into the fund that is split amongst all ships in the fleet, you cannot designate it to an individual crew member
  14. if CC sends a post cruise survey, I will be sure to rave about how wonderful Cheapo Dad is as a cruise reviewer
  15. day 10...one last dinner crudite & macadamia hummus (just ok) seafood medley meatloaf (again just ok) surf & turf (the shrimp were better than the lobster the night before) no dessert photos...but the new & improved baked Alaska looked better than the old one, little domes with meringue like tiny baked Alaskas ranter than slices of a big one...no baked Alaska dance
  16. dinner day 8 was at Sabatini's which was disappointing mostly for the service & lack of attention to our allergy needs. (I did not get pix of the MDR menu for this night) The table setting was lovely & we had a table with a window view which was delightful we gobbled the house appetizer plate before I remembered to take a photo! then came the antipasti lamb skewers & calimari next the pasta dish (except my poor sister who had to reorder at this point because they hadn't checked for allergens) seafood linguini lamb tortellini & the wonderful bread next came the soup/salad course? the fondue (which is a mushroom/cheese soup) mains tiramisu (good but not what he ordered) chef's specialty (a little one of each dessert)
  17. moving on from the debacle of 'new & improved' Love Boat Dreams & Kale Chickpea Ceasar Salads--most of the food was quite good, & there is always something else to eat so here are the last few days of dinners dinner day 7 crab cake with tomato carpaccio grilled chicken salad cowboy striploin pork shoulder penne al pomodoro con calamari
  18. so today we retested after 5 days & the one with covid is still slightly positive (basically no symptoms anymore) & the rest are still negative, so we finally went to retrieve the puppy from her ranch adventure vacation with my niece 2022-10-11 13.50.57.mp4
  19. I have seen menus from several ships that now have the same description: romaine & kale ceasar salad parmesan, crispy chickpeas, ceasar dressing so I think that is a fleet-wide change...ours did not actually have chickpeas or kale, I just didn't think it was a good as I remembered although BIL had it covered with anchovies 4 or 5 times.
  20. please tell Mrs XBGuy that she has now sent me into a quandry....I have never tried the fries at the Crown Grill because I really like their baked potato, so then I thought well I can't eat any of the appetizers so maybe I could follow Mrs XBGuy's plan & order fries, but then I remembered the new cheesy garlic bread that was so good I ate more than my share, asked for another, ate a piece & took the rest back to my room in a ziplock & ate it in the middle of the night...it's like 5 months to our next cruise, will I spend the whole time trying to decide between garlic fries, cheesy garlicy bread & baked potato?
  21. I had read that the Love Boat Dream had been changed but this was so bizzare...another thread from the Majestic had a picture of their Love Boat Dream which was also different than we remember but at least not glowing red! so far only one of us has tested positive (& barely has felt sick) so hopefully...
  22. we just did this (except ended in LA) as our cruise was rerouted because of hurricane Orlene..PuertO Vallarta was replaced by San Diego..all passengers had to do an in person check with customs & border patrol...they came on board & we were given times to check in with them in one of the lounges (this was on Princess) our medallion was scanned & then there were crew stationed so that we couldn't 'escape' the line...when we got to the agent they took a photo for their software to match our photo with the passport photo & we were able to go off the ship when it was ready...the agent told me that this was both customs & immigration & there would be no checks in LA (which there weren't) we just got off in LA
