  1. Howdy @miss tea and welcome to Texas & Galveston Island! 😊

To have a "look-see" before you get to Galveston Island, check out all the various video webcams at https://www.galveston.com/webcams/.

On cruise ship turn-around days, watching your ship leave the dock at https://www.galveston.com/cruisevideocam/ and then going on out to the Gulf at https://www.galveston.com/emeraldvideocam/ can be fun.

Since you have a special interest in Moody Gardens, you might want to check out the following:

    PENGUIN VIDEO CAM https://www.galveston.com/penguinvideocam/

    PYRAMID VIDEO CAM https://www.galveston.com/pyramidvideocam/

    RAINFOREST VIDEO CAM https://www.galveston.com/rainforestvideocam/

    SEAL VIDEO CAM https://www.galveston.com/sealvideocam/

Also, please remember there are lots of things to do at Moody Gardens other than the Rainforest Pyramid. As @ssb says above, you CAN spend two days there!

    https://www.moodygardens.com/attractions/

Hope you enjoy your cruise and your visit to Texas!

  2. If it is as it used to be back when I was Cruise Critic Host Kat >^..^< 2005 - 2015, the X website party registration page would not allow those of us in group bookings through a TA or anyone else booked through a TA to register until after X received all the $$ in full from the TA. (Remember when booked through a TA, the TA owns the booking, not you.) Those booked direct with X and paid in full would usually be able to register much quicker. That is... IF X's party registration page was working correctly. It has a looooong history of being wonky at times.

From the bottom of X's party registration page at https://www.celebritycruises.com/cruise-critic-connections: Any questions or comments related to Celebrity Cruises/Cruise Critic Connections may be emailed to connections@celebrity.com.

From past experience, calling X Customer Service or Captains Club is usually not successful. They tell you to contact Cruise Critic. This is entirely NOT correct as the party registration page is on their website, not Cruise Critic. See the sticky from our Senior Manager Community  LauraS titled Celebrity Connections Registration Issues at https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/1868730-celebrity-connections-registration-issues/.

Hopefully, X will be able to help you at the e-mail address they show on their party registration page mentioned above.

    Good luck!

Edited to add: I am presently booked on a group cruise through a TA for an April 4, 2020 cruise on Summit. Our final payment date is in December 2019 so the TA has not been paid in full to be able to pay X in full. I get the same error message you get.

Due to damage from Hurricane Ike in 2008, the Lone Star Flight Museum is no longer in Galveston. In 2011 the decision was made to move to a new location at Houston's Ellington Airport. Ground was broken in late 2015 and the new $38 million 130,000-square-foot museum opened in Sept 2017.

  4. Howdy helgahans!

The information about the list you seek is in one of the posts on your Roll Call thread where you have posted before. It is a Google spreadsheet. See post #285 dated January 12 at https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2483588-northern-europe-grand-adventure-august-28-2019-copenhagen-to-nyc-24-day-cruise/page/12/?tab=comments#comment-56533067

As for your tour share request, the ONLY place you are allowed to post such a request per the Community Guidelines is also on your Roll Call thread using the Reply To This Topic button there. The following is from What is a Roll Call? Everything you Need to Know at https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2594924-what-is-a-roll-call-everything-you-need-to-know/:

Shore Excursion/Tour Shares in ROLL CALLS

This is an excellent benefit of participating on your ROLL CALL. If you are sailing on a specific ship and departure date, you may post your share request on the specific Roll Call topic for your cruise. You are targeting the specific group of people who would be most inclined to share since they are already sailing with you. Please remember, do not start a new Roll Call topic on the Roll Call forum or any other message board forum with your share request. Use your existing Roll Call topic to post your share request. Please note, our Guidelines do not allow personal ads looking to share shore excursions/tours, transportation, etc. anywhere else on Cruise Critic.

The following is your Roll Call thread titled Northern Europe Grand Adventure, August 28, 2019- Copenhagen to NYC, 24 Day Cruise where you have posted before: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2483588-northern-europe-grand-adventure-august-28-2019-copenhagen-to-nyc-24-day-cruise/

Once you get there, I suggest you should either Bookmark the URL or put it in your Favorites so you can find it quickly in the future. Or you can follow the thread. See How to: Follow Topics & Forums (Subscribed Threads/Forums Info) at https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2630011-how-to-follow-topics-forums-subscribed-threadsforums-info/

    Howdy Mike!

Just posting the thought from your "voices" on this forum will not "git 'er done". It is impossible for Management to read each post on each thread to see the questions, comments or concerns about Cruise Critic policies or site feedback. As for the Hosts/Moderators, they are not Management nor employed by Cruise Critic. They are non-paid volunteers trying to help "direct traffic" and must follow the Moderator Handbook given to them by the Community Manager.

Questions or comments on the inner workings of Cruise Critic should be sent via e-mail to the Community Manager from your Cruise Critic e-mail address of record and not posted on this or any other forum since that violates the Community Guidelines.

... Discussion of the management of this community is not allowed on the forums.  Your post will be removed and you may receive a Guideline Reminder.  However, we would be happy to address any concerns you have via email.   Please write to the Community Manager at:  community@cruisecritic.com...

So bummed! I also used to like the counter by another company whose name I can't remember, counted ships, trips, ports etc... stopped working for me a year or so ago.

The name is Cruise Ships by NauticalCities at http://www.cruise-ships.com/. It is not a countdown clock. It says "My Cruising Profile" & shows the counts for your trips, ships, cruise lines and ports. Also gives you a ranking such as Deckhand, Cruise Director, Captain, etc. according to your stats.

Here are a couple more countdown clock sites for anyone that is interested:

    Try Google for lots more.

There used to be an 8X10 CC door poster to download here but I don't know what happened to it...

Here is the Cruise Critic Meet & Mingle door sign with the current Cruise Critic logo: https://images.r.cruisecritic.com/community/pdfs/DoorSign.pdf

You can print it on regular printer paper. However, I printed mine on an Avery 3270 Printable Ink Jet Magnet Sheet. There were 5 sheets to a pack. I think I bought the pack at Walmart & cannot remember the price.

If your cabin door does not contain enough metal to hold the magnet sheet & you use another way to attach it, please make sure you remove all residue left on the door before you debark. The same for ANYTHING you use to attach any sort of decoration on your cabin door or anywhere in your cabin. Your steward will greatly appreciate your kindness!!

  10. Per the Announcement titled Roll Call Tool Update - Up and Running! at https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2662115-roll-call-tool-update-up-and-running/, perhaps your parentheses symbols are the culprit. I suggest you do as Jenn says and tag her or send her  an e-mail.

... Here are some tips to making sure your newly created roll call thread is properly listed in the roll call tool:

    • You should format the date in your Title by US standards.  So January 2, 2019 for example  or August 01, 2019  You can use extra words in your title but I would steer clear of extra numbers and symbols aside from the date as shown above.
      • Any extra numbers or commas WILL confuse the tool. Same with extra commas, or the number of days you are sailing - all add to the confusion.
      • However, The roll call tool will throw those roll calls that it cannot determine a date for in a queue for me to look over.  I do that once a day M-F, so those roll calls not dated perfectly can still make it to the tool they may just take 48 hours instead of 24.
      • if it takes more than 48 hours for your roll call to show in the tool please tag me in a post or send an email to help@cruisecritic.com for me to take a look.  It could have been misfiled under the wrong date. The good news is that I can fix dates...

More info re this topic from the Community Guidelines:

Question: Why don't you allow us to post about other cruise sites? My post contains *** and then you removed it!  Answer:  Actually, we do allow the legitimate linking to information at another cruise site, as long as that link isn't posted in an attempt to drive traffic to that site (in the sole discretion of Cruise Critic), or if the posting of such site is meant to cause disruption within the community. If a website's url or name is replaced by a series of *****, it may mean that particular website had spammed our community with advertisements for their site, or that member(s) may have posted in a way that we consider self-promotion or advertising.

I suggest you repost your question on the correct forum. Try the Cruise/Travel Insurance forum.

This forum titled Need Help Using the Forums? is forum assistance such as questions and answers relating to technical assistance in using the Cruise Critic message board.

Hope this information will be helpful!

  16. That-Guy,

I looked at your previous posts and saw where you had started a Roll Call thread and then posted again about it being for the wrong sail date. As Essiesmom mentions above, I used the Report Post function in your first post on the Roll Call thread to send an e-mail requesting the thread be deleted. Just posting your request to a Moderator on the Roll Call thread as you did will not "git 'er done".

    Hope this will be satisfactory!

  17. More info here at Can I Have My Post(s) Edited/Deleted? from Cruise Critic Community Help Center at https://www.cruisecritic.com/vbulletin/contact.cfm as follows:

Can You Remove ALL My Posts?

We cannot remove all your posts from our forums. Please make a conscious decision to participate BEFORE you post.

Can My Post Be Edited Please?

Posts will ONLY be edited if they contain personal information. Note that we have provided a reasonable period of time in which to edit your postings. Please include a LINK (web address) to the posting and send to help@cruisecritic.com from your e-mail address of record on your Cruise Critic account.

We will need the link to the thread/posting to be able to provide the above service.

Note this is from the old vBulletin system & may not come up correctly. Just as the current Cruise Critic Countdown Clocks from vBulletin are not showing up at this time. Note the one in my signature at this time.
