Bimmer 09 sails APEX to Iceland June 2023
Oceansaway17 replied to Bimmer09's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I am going for the itinerary as well as in and out of Athens. Airport is closer than Rome. I will do 2 days in Athens. I have other cruises next year so 7 day fit my plans. So, in Copenhagen in 2018 I had a conversation with the concierge, and he told me that bars and smoking are their culture for socializing. He agreed that perhaps people overindulge. Funny I was on another ship a couple of years later and this man from Netherlands at a nearby table with his family, got up and as he walked pass me, he growled that I needed to smile more. I was so taken aback by this. As for class of ship, I only really care when it is RCI. Love my Oasis or Quantum. I am booked on Ascent for Nov 2024. Hope to get Capt Kate again as I had her on the Summit. -
Just how much of a problem ARE interlopers in the YC?

yes I certainly will. And to all of you who replied to me, in the end you just proved my point about YC on MSC. -

nope the pandemic happened and now with all the negatives about NCL, I won't. besides, no views of the ocean. At least YC does have that. But still not interested in MSC as they get a lot of mixed reviews even though their ships are very pretty inside. Need to up their game with food and entertainment for the USA departures. -

Man I really doubt everyone is trying to do this. Like I said, I would ask if someone was interested in future sailing in YC. Again, seems like folks in YC are looking around like hawks protecting their nest. Not appealing at all. -

well good for you then, But I still stand by that if I approach a crew member and ask if I can bring in ONE person for just a short while so they can decide if they want to book in future, then folks should not stare or point of be nasty. The impression I am getting is the exclusiveness breeds attitude sometimes. If you are the YC keep your nose down and read a book and don't keep track of new faces and then try to complain or have them removed. I have been a guest for a couple of hours on NCL Haven and no one acted like they seem to do on MSC. -
wow nice seating area. I loved the shady areas on the Vista. One of the few ships that had 3 decks at the pool. So now this back area looks great too. BTW look for Tony La Lido loco from Youtube who is one your cruise if you follow him. Enjoy trip. I am on Princess Grand at end of summer and it is 14 day r/t doing each port twice and glacier bay twice too.

I wanted an early dining and could not get even with waitlist. They like to put older solos in late. Sometimes I just ate at the grill area. burgers and chicken fingers were good. watched a movie too. I wish DCL would have a nighttime buffet. And for the Wish, I am not a marvel fan and so that show would ruin dinner for me. But having kids awake for the early shows is good and for other ages as well. A show after a big meal makes for sleepyness too. But then again the later meals mean snacking needs at 5pm too.

but it doesn't hurt to ask for one night. Every cruise I have been on lately every night is revolving folks coming and going and changing. If you ask nicely you will most of the time get want you want even if a short wait time. If it is a shore excursion that others are on and they too have early dining, then the maître will be aware and ready perhaps to accommodate folks. Besides, ya gotta visit the buffet once to at least make yourself a nice salad.

Which Quay does Celebrity use in Copenhagen
Oceansaway17 replied to hampshirelad's topic in Northern Europe & Baltic Sea
I think the one further out since she is good size ship. -
aw thanks for the chuckle. I am amazed at how many negatives on this ship. I loved the Bliss and the Escape as well as the Dawn. I will stick to those.

huh? ya just gave me a headache trying to understand what ya just said. oh well -
funny I thought perhaps you were aging backwards and just reached the age of 9. Sorry had to chuckle. Enjoy your cruise

oh each cruise line has issues with their IT. Just go away for a day or so and go back in. But I will share that Disney cruise line has issues for final check-in. Their site for that portion won't work with MS Edge. I mean come one millions of people have MS Edge. I had to eventually check in on their app and for a copy of boarding pass, I had to do a screen print. Never in all my years did I NOT get a paper copy of boarding pass. oh well. but I have heard that MSC does have gorgeous ships though.

Well this just makes me NOT want to sail on MSC. And I think that if I am in YC, I should at least once a cruise be allowed 1 guest to come in for a couple of hours to visit. Not too much to ask for a couple of hours. Perhaps that person wanted to test out the area to see if it was something they wanted to book on next cruise. Sounds to me like YC folks are looking around trying to notice who they can chase out. Keeping score just a bit. It sounds a bit snotty. It is one thing to drag in 2-3 folks in every day but just 1 person for a one time only visit should be allowed. They could add $10 or so to my room bill if I wanted a guest for just a couple hours to sample. nope MSC might not be for me. -
I am pretty sure others will be in the same boat(sorry for pun). I think you can get into theany-time line or just do the Buffet at night which will be quicker and then you can change clothes and rest before a show.
