  1. I think all rooms should be sold by the room number. then when closer to sailings then can lower the price or offer to C/A folks who live near the port. Funny Disney does not have this problem. They have good prices when ships go on sale and for the most part increase prices and they stay. They don't play as much games as other cruise lines. Lesson to anyone who goes the Guarantee route, make sure you can adjust flights and hotels or live near the port. Otherwise you should pick your room to be on the safe side.
  2. that is what I was getting at, when does it stop. dating and marrying someone and then the points just flow to them. All this for alcohol and some treats. I think loyalty programs are getting out of hand. The one and only thing I enjoyed on my Vision of the Seas is going to the Diamond lounge where I finally could get some dipped strawberries. For those of us who do not drink alcohol or gamble, how about RCI giving better prices for room selections. Even the 340 points has some limitations. And no one should be bumped from a ship for a charter. If a charter wants a ship, Take what is leftover after accounting for all the C/A folks. Or handle charters before itineraries are put on sale for the public. I think the real reason for loyalty is to make folks keep coming back so they can acquire a status that is in a lot of ways rather boring unless you are a drinker. And unfortunately I would like to throw up every time I hear folks say "OH NO I am loyal to royal and won't go on any other cruise line" OMG that is what they want but in the end you are missing out on other wonderful ships that are out there and that includes CCL, DCL, and HAL (not just for old folks). flame me but I want loyalty returned to me in the area of the price I pay. Watered down drink ain't it for me.
  3. Decide if you want too see Grease show on Harmony, or Cats on Oasis. ans Oasis has BBQ port side too
  4. RCI survived many years without their own in house meteorologists so they will do fine.
  5. Don’t agree they should give away points. at some point too many will high points and system will be a joke . everyone needs to earn their own IMHO.
  6. Well if the music hall has calm music folks will get up on their own . but I am afraid ballroom dancing is not really scheduled.
  7. Sorry but not sure I agree when a child who gathers point while traveling with parents and then is an adult now gets a spouse to have full points too. not sure that is really fair.
  8. Be careful as some promos say you MUST purchase vacation protection up front. And then later if you want to add on they say NO. Hal is only cruise line for certain promos who do this. Why I do not know but I had to say good bye to a deposit earlier this year. I mean vacation protection is an ADD on IMHO and should not affect deposit. Even Carnival does not have this stupid rule.
  9. Aw yes the big group issues. They should make plans for splitting up at times for ease of getting around. Too much togetherness can be tiring to themselves and others.
  10. And this is a good thing as c c have expiration dates so no need to maintain
  11. Clear cookies otherwise web is like the weather. Just wait a bit and things will change
  12. People want flexibility because of port times and or show times. Pools are busy up until 4pm and if like eating say 6:30, you could enjoy late pool times. I think more are going to buffets too and can choose portions and get in and out in an hour or less
  13. Because you would have a chance to enjoy a beach that is taken care of and without local vendors or controlled vendors
  14. Wonder if this practice is next to be cut. If I buy at $500 and it doubles then you would think everyone would do this
  15. Well I know this is RCI thread, but for good thermal spa try NCL Escape or Bliss as they are wonderful. felt bad no on replied to you so I decided to comment even if not RCI ship
  16. Would be nice if they offered FOR PAY a 15 minutes chance to swim in the pool. Just hoping.
  17. To me it is like comparing the two major theme park companies in Orlando area. They both have fun stuff and differences as well. Each should be experienced and enjoyed for what is offered. Will be interesting to see how Icon works into it all going forward
  18. well since cruise line make a lot of profit off of liquor, they probably smile at the term booze cruise. But really all the lines especially RCI, CCL, Princess, and NCL have drink packages and push them a lot. When I hear the term Booze cruise, I really think that is it the main reason folks might be on the ship like for New Years Eve, or quick 3-4 days in the summer. But for the most part, a lot of alcohol is drunk with meals and is wine. And also in the theatre for shows.
  19. aw yes I remember out May 2019 cruise and I would walk by and peek in. I was sad not to have been able to sample it.
  20. I like cabins that are interior up in the front of the ship as less foot traffic. And slight movement at night makes for good sleeping that is if you can get use to the HARD mattress which takes about two days IMHO
  21. well yes but I heard the NCL Prima really has small pools. But at least Oasis does have 4. If it is pools you want, go on new ICON.
  22. yes the Summit from Boston. also NCL goes out of Boston too. Boston is great tor NE/Canada because you gain a day from having to sail from NYC area and even more so than Baltimore. thanks for good wishes. you sound like a nice polite person on cc.
