I had this issue on Anthem last Nov. suddenly technical issues or maintenance would show up at the same time I did. then we had wind and etc etc issues. Over the course of 7 days I never got to go up in Northstar. Sure glad I did Anthem twice in 2016 and many times. Also did Northstar 5 times in 2019 while in Alaska. Every day in port. Seems like Northstar as well as Aqua Theatre on ships are having issues a lot. While it is good to see cruising come back, I am hearing and seeing things not quite up to par or complete. I feel cruising won't really be back like we knew it to be until 2023.

well that just gives me food for thought. If carrying USA passengers, then have the medicine that is allowed for them too. Me thinks some of the medical facilities are a joke perhaps.

I feel your pain as HAL has let you down in this matter. This is why I decided 6 months ago to change a trip in and out of Vancouver (on RCI) to avoid this crpa of testing to get back to my own country. Heck we can now fly all around the country without masks or vaccines and yet folks off of cruise ships that are vaxxed, have to test. Just when will it all end. I loved Vancouver and have toured around. Perhaps you could change your flights home.

yes thanks, but they are all from USA ports. I am on Oasis in Oct 2022. That is a well loved ship. I do not want to do anything this year in Europe. Over on Celebrity folks on Silhouette are getting covid from some crew. I at least like the idea of RCI still having crew masked up. Some ships are not doing this. I at least do not have to worry about isolating on any B2B or in foreign countries. I would have loved to have been on HAL Rotterdam for my Norway cruise this month but chose to cancel and got a refund from HAL. In fact, I hope to return to HAL again as I am finding RCI ships to be so loud everywhere on the ship. So Anthem is soon to arrive in UK as per cruisemapper. Today the Celebrity Beyond was in an Italian Port alongside Wonder OTS. wow two new ships for Florence area. In a couple of years I will return to bus tours and hope to go to Ireland again as well as Switzerland. toodles.

I agree with you it is a bit of nonsense. Use to be showing a passport was good to go. Now Canada has arriveCan and Bermuda collects $40 and declares ya have to arrive 48 hours after sailing from port or whole ship retests again. I mean when does all the crap stop. That is why I am doing a lot this year from FL to Caribbean. I am however, doing Alaska in late August and I suppose I will have to put up with ArriveCan. Never mind I can sit on a plane with unvaxxed and unmasked folks. Cruising is just plain annoying when it comes to precruise planning and travel But I did cancel Bermuda.

well it is still free and still easy to reserve. CVS not so much as now they make you have an appointment with nurse for Blood pressure and temp check and you wait for results. And I think it is charged to your insurance. Walgreens does not ask for any insurance information (at least not as of April 28th)

oh well I did not mean about sailing from- just visiting the port. I suppose Brits are like us Americans in that we have not explored our own back yard as much as we should have. I would think that sailing from Dover would be nice though. Almost got to do it but covid hit. No disney Magic cruise happened from Dover

well folks over on disboards are complaining a lot. But ya know greed is greed and folks tolerate somewhat I suppose. But me thinks if a ship pulls into Coco Cay that already has slides on it, why pay for the thrill park.

BTW I like Symphony of the seas WJ food better than Wonder OTS. but I like Wonder OTS Solarium which was enclosed and quite much better. On to the Allure next month without a pink slide - yah. toodles

me thinks RCI went to the Disney school of finance. Raise prices as high as you can until it back fires. Folks are eager to go after almost 2 years of no sailing and will pay the prices.

excellent. I got one so far and it is Ovation from May 2019 but did not get it until I asked in Nov on Anthem. I was overlooked

well me thinks a lot of crew went to the Wonder as Symphony had some crew shortages as well. BTW the food was better on Symphony than Wonder in the WJ with better choices and not all the little cups of stuff. One could dish out the amounts of fruit they wanted. oh and on both Wonder and SOS, everywhere was LOUD. It is a RCI thing I am convinced that they want happy crew since many of them hum and sing and sway to the music. Me, not so much after a few days. I am thinking of returning to Celebrity or HAL for quieter days

interesting. well $100 I guess is worth it to complain. It does amaze me how many folks do not prepare for their cruise or read the emails or make and reservations for anything. I mean going with the flow is not the way to go these days. by the time I go on Quantum in late August, I will have read many stories on CC you can be sure. toodles
