  1. Sea day yesterday, and really lucky with the weather. Other than an hour or two of fog, it was mostly sunny and clear. Team trivia had a big crowd turn out. Jan (CD) is quite fun. Formal night in the Restaurant. Service was spotty at times, but the food was delicious. I had the goat cheese soufflé and beef Wellington. DH had the consommé and duck a L’Orange. We shared a side of truffle risotto. The entertainment was the Tim Rice show.
  2. We are in Queen Charlotte Sound right now and seas are quite choppy with more ship motion than I recall ever having on Seabourn. I’m guessing anyone susceptible to motion sickness is really feeling it. but skies are clear and bright blue and it’s a lovely day
  3. We are on board and sailing the inland passage on the way to Ketchikan. Boarding yesterday wasn’t too bad, although the terminal was very crowded with two huge Celebrity ships also boarding. Dinner at Earth & Ocean last night was delicious. Service was excellent. Breakfast at the Collanade this morning. Service was a little spotty (waiter delivered DHs tea to the wrong table and almost did the same with his eggs Benedict). The weather was clear and sunny at sunrise, but now is a little bit foggy.
  4. I would like to know this also. We had been told to do the first ArriveCAN before we arrive via plane, and then a second one before boarding the ship. This is what the Seabourn FAQs say: Complete ArriveCAN within 72 hours of embarkation if sailing to or from a Canadian port. Guests not from Canada who are starting their cruise in Canada will need to complete ArriveCAN within 72 hours before arrival and fill it out again within 72 hours of embarkation. Canadian guests will need to fill out ArriveCAN within 72 hours before embarkation.
  5. I have to think they'd let you just resubmit with the new info. I know I can't do the ArriveCan for boarding the ship until after we arrive in Vancouver on Thursday, because you can only input one arrival at a time. In the meantime, I have been trying for several days now to add the Seabourn cruise booking to VeriFly and I continue to get an error message. It's so frustrating.
  6. I went back to my saved itinerary from that trip, and sadly it appears I didn't save her name.
  7. As long as you check in within 72 hours of your flight, you'll be fine. You can upload your passport and vaccine info ahead of time.
  8. We hired a tour guide through Tours By Locals when we were in Malta and she was absolutely fabulous. I'll see if I can find her name. One advantage is she had her car and drove us to the opposite side of town from where all the big tour boat crowds were touring. I particularly enjoyed touring the catacombs where people spent time during the bombings in WWII. I had not idea about that before the book I referred you to and the tour.
  9. Another great Malta book (fiction) is the Kappillan of Malta. https://smile.amazon.com/Kappillan-Malta-Nicholas-Monsarrat/dp/0304358444/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1662489982&sr=1-19
  10. I will do so! But to wrap up on this thread, about 10 days ago I contracted COVID. Funny to actually be "relieved" to go ahead and get it far enough out from our departure to not cause us to have to cancel. I had really been worrying about that, or testing positive while on-board the cruise. I was lucky to have a pretty mild case. Really seemed mostly like a moderately bad cold. DH now has it too, and has felt worse than I did ("man cold" you know). In the meantime, our bag shipped off with Luggage Forwarding and is sitting at the airport near Vancouver waiting to be delivered to the ship. I am SO psyched to get on board. Only 9 days to go!
  11. Totally agree too! We are less than 3 weeks now from boarding the Odyssey, and I hope I can take and share pictures as good as what SharkB8 has provided! Question, should I just continue to post in this thread, or start a new one? (can you tell I'm excited to get on board???)
  12. I just finished packing for our 14 day Alaskan cruise, because we are using Luggage Forwarding to pick up. My packing absolutely planned to send out some stuff to be laundered mid-cruise. Particularly underwear and socks! We have used the $50 bag twice and been very happy both times. I don't send anything that requires any sort of special attention. Anything that needs hand-washing, I wash in the room and line-dry.
  13. Along the same lines, have they resumed having jigsaw puzzles out for assembly in Seabourn Square?
  14. We will see you on board! We are on for the same 14 days.
  15. I am loving all your posts SharkB8! We leave for the Odyssey in 35 days and I can't wait!
  16. No, but on nice evenings it can be a popular location and the number of tables are limited, so you may have a wait.
  17. We are booked for the dog-sledding facility excursion in September, and now I am worried I won't get to go! Snuggling with husky puppies was going to be a highlight for me!
  18. I'm in Houston and I'm blown away at the pictures of the empty IAH international terminal!
  19. Ok, now I am dying to know what you think is the best friend chicken in Texas! Babes? If you haven't tried the TK fried chicken, you really must! I think even if you aren't eating in the Colonnade on TK chicken night, you can get a piece to try at the Restaurant.
  20. TK fried chicken is one of my absolute favorites! Here is my trick to get it twice -- I ask the Collonade staff to save a couple of pieces and serve it to me for room service breakfast with waffles. You can thank me later 🙂
  21. We had the same experience last year with the BIMSafe App for Barbados. It was a royal PITA to load everything onto it, and then no one ever looked at it. Nonetheless, I'm a rule follower and have already loaded all that I can to the ArriveCan app. We can't do the last part until 3 days before arrival.
  22. The only issue is if the excursion you want fills up before the ship sails. It does happen on some excursions, so if it's something that you really, really don't want to miss out on, go ahead and book in advance.
  23. Oh my! That was LUNCH??!! I hope that have that on our September cruise as well!
  24. I honestly would want to go spit in the face of the lady who went out on the excursion with you all, having been exposed and obviously symptomatic. But you are right, Seabourn should never have let her leave her cabin.
