Live on the Island. Get a table at Fisherman’s Warf restaurant on Harborside and enjoy a cold beverage whilst sitting at a table. Note good for all lines except RCI
I live on the Island (IBC). First exit off causeway is Harborside. Be careful as exit lane starts on causeway. Take a left on Harborside. After about 5 minutes you will get to Carnival, Disney, Princess and NCL terminals (24 th st). If Royal continue on Harborside until you hit Royal Terminal, about another 5 minutes.
Could it be it’s a nice touch and they are just trying to be good people, and they recognize that Galveston is a half days drive from markets such as Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Waco, Corpus, Ft Worth
Live in Galveston. Take Uber weekly. About $60 to Hobby and $120 to IAH. Never had an issue with getting an Uber. May have a wait if you’re first off the ship as most of the drivers are coming from off island. There are cabs as well at the port
I live on the island and Uber all the time. Some drivers prefer staying on the island as they make more with more short rides than 1 long one with an empty ride back to the island. Have Uber and lift on your phone. Or better yet pre reserve an Uber to be waiting at the hotel in the app
I live on the island as well. Can’t imagine staying at IAH Marriott for vaca when one can stay on the island with restaurants, nightlife and bars. Another option is Hotel Lucerne an new renovated sea wall motel with a hip vibe and great bar. 1950’s retro motel
There is a huge outlet mall on I45 in Texas City just before the causeway. Nicer than baybrook. https://www.tanger.com/houston/maps#/

I live in Galveston. Tremont and Harbor House are walkable to port. If there are too of you and you are flying into Hobby, just take an Uber to the island. It will be around $50 and easier than waiting for the cruise line bus and most likely cheaper. If you have the funds Tremont is right in the action, great bar. Another classy option is Galvez on the sea wall. There is no commercial service into Galveston airport
I live in Galveston. Hobby is your best bet. Mainly Southwest, but AA and Delta have flights as well. If you have two people Uber is the easiest as your fare will be $50ish. Galveston airport no longer has commercial service. If you leave the ship at 7:00 walkoff with your luggage and grab an Uber most likely be at Hobby by 10ish. I would book later on Southwest and if you get to the airport early you can always try to stand by on an earlier flight which is now free for all status on SW
