  1. Could it be it’s a nice touch and they are just trying to be good people, and they recognize that Galveston is a half days drive from markets such as Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Waco, Corpus, Ft Worth

  2. I live in Galveston. Tremont and Harbor House are walkable to port. If there are too of you and you are flying into Hobby, just take an Uber to the island. It will be around $50 and easier than waiting for the cruise line bus and most likely cheaper.  If you have the funds Tremont is right in the action, great bar.  Another classy option is Galvez on the sea wall. There is no commercial service into Galveston airport

  3. I live in Galveston. Hobby is your best bet. Mainly Southwest, but AA and Delta have flights as well. If you have two people Uber is the easiest as your fare will be $50ish. Galveston airport no longer has commercial service. If you leave the ship at 7:00 walkoff with your luggage and grab an Uber most likely be at Hobby by 10ish.  I would book later on Southwest and if you get to the airport early you can always try to stand by on an earlier flight which is now free for all status on SW

I would also add that there are a couple luxury bus options from DFW to Houston.  We had to get to Austin to fly to a cruise when local airports all but shut down and our trip on Vonlane was something I'd do again without hesitation.  Redcoach is also an option.  Seats on either are much more comfortable than an airline.

Both have bathrooms and Vonlane provides a meal and alcohol for sale!

Edit - misspelled "shut" above and was filtered out!

Volane is great. It will let you off downtown Houston Hyatt. Fare is about $120, but the kicker is the $100 Uber ride to Galveston. Your better off flying to Hobby

Thanks for the tip. I usualy fly Southwest but I have about 99,000 AA Advantage points and $200 in AA gift certificates.

I looked at that car service site and you have to have six minimum and it was I think $1600 round trip. I think you have to book rt. Does not seem like a logical choice.....

Don’t “waist” your points on DaL-HOU. Fares are typically cheap purchases in advance
