  1. How about two docked at the private island allowing for lunch at other ships specialty restaurant or Walk on a ship with a promenade[emoji41]. Would make more money for Princess and better use of facilities during private island day as well as more choices for customers. But hey, why let this boards fear of change or innovation stop the “but what ifs”

  2. Space is very limited on a ship. Those things take up a lot of it. Plus it would change the feel, demographics and noise. We would also be paying for something we would not use. Let other lines do the "floating theme/water parks" please.

With this logic they should take out the pools, Mutts, casinos and specialty dining, atrium activities and make one large floating library/ retirement home.

  3. I just got off RCI Symphony and for those who have not been on a larger ship, I can attest boarding was more efficient than Princess, no problems with quiet areas and the ship never felt crowded due to size. A lot more dining options than the stale MDR. My suggestion is to actually try it before one complains

  4. From my wife’s single experience and objective observations, Royal Caribbean is an inferior cruise line. The cruise was a birthday gift to our daughter and she — not we — chose this cruise based on the destination, shower caps or no and your expectations notwithstanding.

    Just sayin’.

You will be missed, though I am sure traditional dining on Celebrity improved with more upbeat and positive conversation the birthday week.

  5. My only cruise out of Galveston was last July to help friends celebrate their 50th. It wasn't for the Ports as there are very few to see, so would like to see more Ports offered before I decide to go again. For myself flying from So Calif it usually means a change in DFW or Denver.

Southwest has many flights from So Calf to Hobby and United to IAH. Only reason to fly to DFW is if your a slave to AA

  6. Hmm......most adults would think it is not funny.

Seems disrespectful to your wife to embarrass her at a vulnerable moment and then to brag about it.

    I feel sad for her.

Oh come on, it’s times like this that make vacation memories. I know my friends would have a good laugh and enjoy being the star of the moment. I suspect the wife is not sad, but laughs about it to this day.. Happy people.

  7. Nobody want to respond to this then?

Profits are a good thing, allowing more ships, employing many people. Jobs helps the masses more than welfare ever did. Addressed. Now will you address how you feel reducing the expected and customary tip, ie stealing, is acceptable for the worker. If theft makes one feel better so be it. Also expect to tip 15% to your bartenders. They do a great job

  9. thank you for all your kind words. It helps

Yes SIL at hospital. Daughter and child on ship. Little one pretty upset and disorientated.

She needs Internet to keep in touch with us but NCL won't give her free internet. There is so much to sort out.

We hope NCL will let us on ship to sail to Rome as we can use all her flights and transport easily from there. Easy jet being very helpful. Cabin is empty so shouldn't be a problem but I don't know how complicated it will be. Keep your fingers crossed we can do that. She needs us with her to help pack etc

So why does she not buy internet? Not the time to be coupon clipping

  10. Interesting about Atrium. Because on some ships Atrium is the hub. Something always going on there, especially on the Getaway.

As for the comment by OP about Moderno, I found it opposite. Have eaten there 3 times on 2 different ships and found I had to slow them down. And they were always trying to get us to take more.

So we are complaining because one goes to a Brazilian steakhouse and they give too much food. As custom at any Brazilian steakhouse all one has to do is turn the medallion to red to stop service. Too little food/too much food, these poor lines can’t win on the Princess board.

  11. PRINCESS HAS TO HONOUR THESE CARDS-JUST LET THEM RUN OUT ON THEIR OWN, no sweat for Princess & then no hard feelings. I just booked Royal Carib. in Nov because of this

And you will be replaced with a passenger who will generate revenue, go to the new Specialty Venues, go to chefs table, have cocktails at the bar with new friends etc., rather than one who would switch lines over a coffee card gathering dust in a junk drawer. In the words of our President, “You have been fired!” and being replaced with a passenger who will generate revenue. And there is nothing wrong with that.

  12. Hint. Take one of the thousand effy jewelry flyers and cover the bathroom vent. Suction will hold it in place. Hang item in bathroom with shower door/curtain open. Run hot water for 10 minutes. Keep garment in bathroom for 30 minutes. Your welcome and no ironing needed

  13. Not everyone pays "$$thousands" for a cruise. The email I got from Princess yesterday has Alaska cruises at $35/day, so a daily cappuccino at $2.33 is 6.6% of the cruise fare, which is not exactly small potatoes.

We only occasionally drink the specialty coffees, so we save a coffee card from one cruise and use the extra punches on the next one. The new expiration date that was added retroactively means that we'll lose some punches on our existing card (which we paid for with actual money) since we won't be sailing again before they expire. A $15 or $20 loss is obviously not going to break us, but it leaves an unpleasant taste, and this new policy means that coffee cards are not a good buy for us any longer. We'll end up drinking less specialty coffee and Princess will make less money from us.

And this pretty much sums up why Princess is looking for a new demographic with new venues, specialty dining, and onboard spending. It has to to stay profitable. They want the passenger buying the drink package, at the casino, at Gastropub and Share; where the profit is, rather than the one doing an analysis on their coffee cost as a percentage of daily fare cost.
