Hi, got a trivial question about the Regal Princess(or its sister ship) connecting room on the Baja deck(B510) that I booked.  The room is a deluxe balcony  so  a sofa is blocking the connecting door. Is the door sound proof? Just curious to know if I'd be able to  hear people's conversation(normal voice) next door to us.

    Thanks.

Sounds like someone is planning a grand time in the room, wink wink, nod, nod

  2. Sail both.

+Norwegian, more/better entertainment, more/better specialty restaurants, if you are Haven suite Princess won't come close, more shipboard activities, better casino product, more live and let live attitude, Norwegian has anytime dining down-less waiting time with reservations, more late night parties white parties etc.

+Princess more quite subdued atmosphere, perceived more formal (but not really) environment,  more  formal dress (pants at night for men,  formal night for women "sparkly top" and black slacks for women (the Dockers and polo shirt equivalent for men set), 1980's type production shows, little late night entertainment, less garish ship decor

Don't let anyone fool you, you will have a great time whichever you choose.

  3. I am sure the cruise line makes a lot of money on the drink packages but the bottom line is it encourages people to over indulge and there by encourages bad and inappropriate behavior. If the cruise line does not want drunk people behaving badly then stop offering all you can drink packages. But I suspect the profit is big enough that the cruise line is willing to overlook the consequences.

This has nothing to do with a drink package, if his buddies had the package they would not be sneaking them out of the lounge. Your scapegoating a program not involved in this situation

  4. In a bloody mary, you can't tell the difference in vodka anyway. When I bartended, I gave people gin instead of vodka sometimes and no one ever noticed. With a savory mix (Zing Zang, etc) there's no way to even taste the vodka. Anything above bottom shelf is a waste of money. Save the good stuff for the martinis.

You will have to trust me on this one and it is a leap and takes great faith. Have the Bloody Mary made with Jaegermeister instead of vodka. It give the drink an herby taste like tomatoes basil soup. A warning however, more than one can make your babies come out crooked.

  5. I agree. I exchanged for mini bars that I could have brought home with me. Now I have useless cards. Very short notice. They should have given more than 1 1/2 years notice. The average person does not cruise more than once a year. It's such a small thing but has made me look into different cruise lines.

If you are changing lines because of a coffee card sitting around in your junk drawer, Princes would just as soon fire you as a customer and replace you with a new customer who will spend on drink packages, specialty dining, gambling and bingo. You will be missed.

  6. To the original poster I would say: research. The Baltic is far north and can be cool even in the Summer. It is not really for outdoor activity much of the time.

People tend to travel there on that short of a cruise because of the amazing ports and history. The spa is an independent operation; Princess rents them the space...I never go near it because of the outrageous prices. At home in the US I get a massage every couple of weeks by a professional for 1/3 the price...moreover it is part of their job to sell you more. You may have been much happier on a Caribbean Cruise on a Cardinal ship. Mike

Even though spa is run using a contractor, it is sold through Princess, it is paid to Princess, it is marketed with Princess brand, employees have Princess name tags, so the fact it’s run through a subcontractor does not let Princess off the hook. Your argument could be made for the stewards as well as they are actually employees of a contractor. Again this does not let Princess off the hook for bad form from the contractee.

  7. Is it just me, or if people are complaining because fresh chocolates are being delivered to their room, this Princess board is really searching for a material issue and a solution to a non existent problem. If HQ actually reads this, they must be banging their heads on their desks that people are complaining that fresh chocolates are being delivered instead of cheap waxy penny candy

  8. I HATE and would you believe a bean bag toss?

Opened my balcony door; closed my balcony door. Already too hot to sit out there. Will have my caffeine indoors. See you later.

Are you sure it is not corn hole. Very popular, you should give it ago, with more than enough beer (thirst is a dangerous thing you know!) Give it a try, you will have fun

  9. There is no way I would eat something left unwrapped in my cabin. That is inappropriate. Yeah right after the cabin steward finished cleaning the toilet he placed those on your bed. Or perhaps it is the chocolate given to him as a gift by a passenger. ;)

Hygiene is not their strong suit considering they have training on their own personal hygiene.

Please take them to my cabin, chocolate is always “appropriate” in my life

  10. Maybe they ran out of the wrapped ones or they were damaged and this is the substitute? Kind of weird to have unwrapped anything just sitting there in the room and knowing it touched someone’s hands who just cleaned your cabin. Hmmm...

I guess you don’t eat the canapés, chocolate covered strawberries or apples

  11. We will admit to liking a covered pool (or at least one with a movable roof like on the Grand) as an option. Why? Because we enjoy long sea days sitting in a lounger near a pool and quietly reading our books and socializing. The lack of a covered pool becomes a real negative in bad or cold weather.

You should look at RCI Solarium product then, and it’s free

  12. Although I imagine if you wish to use casino or buy anything or get back in your cabin you must carry one or the other.
