  1. Sometimes each casino person will tell you a different story. The first time I ever did it the attendant helped show me how to tap and go to banker. I asked for $300 and he said you know you have to play it on this machine only. Of course that wasn't the case and I cashed out and tried a different machine. From what I can see is they just don't have the technology to monitor your coupons when you cycle them among different machines.
  2. I've found a hard limit of $300 at a time withdrawl. We had a huge $5,000 to pull off once due to the Price Guarantee during covid post after final payment.
  3. Glaswegian and Ayrshire are similar but all so different. Iain can pretty much tell which city or region a Scott is from ... Kinda like us recognizing a New York, Philly, Texan or Deep South... Or the Canadian Ahhhhh.. and Aboot
  4. I asked Mar this morning and she said she hadn't looked yet but would. Stay tuned. I did a cabin count a couple weeks ago and was lighter than the current cruise. Mar just joined the ship on Saturday and had a crash course. She will be on her own next week as on the Non-Revolutionzed Michael's they only have one host. A Customer Service Manager had to also jump in unexpectedly when Penelope had to leave due to family issues. I'm guessing 52-55% capacity.
  5. Love it. Iain's Aunt had a very strong Ayrshire and when I first met her 34 years ago would usually just smile at her because I couldn't understand a thing she said. Iain moved to America when about 21 and didn't want to be identified as a Scott and tried very hard to drop his accent. Most people would never know he was Scottish unless they hear him talking to his Sister. When someone doesn't believe he is a Scott I ask him to give them a bit of Robert Burns - which he had to memorize at school.
  6. On our way off ship for tour yesterday the gave us a free tour down I95 on way to tender to avoid crowd.
  7. Coming into port felt like Hong Kong 3 ships in port yesterday.
  8. We were the same. We had been disappointed in Tuscan but went on Silhouette and they had really upped their game. We went more than once. Saying that - to me Murano is unbeatable and never been disappointed but on longer multi segment cruises their menu is rather limited.
  9. You do hear it but become accustomed to it pretty quickly. I'm glad we are on deck 11 next cruise. It reminds me of or place in SF on a Cable Car Line. They are good about not doing it before around 8:00 or after 8 at night.
  10. They do work. I really can't say how they work but they use noise masking technology as oppose to noise cancelling. I use a sound that is more like a meditation tone and really makes me sleep even if no noise. Many of us that have a spouse that Breaths Heavy or Snores find them a solution. I often use a silicon ear plug in one ear (the one down to pillow) and the Sleep bud in the other, but if the snoring get's lound -- both are popped. in
  11. No worries - Nothing is off topic on my Live Posts as I also go way off topics at times. Tipping is a personal choice. I take into consideration that tipping is already based on 18%. We always tip extra for good service. If someone just does their job we do not feed compelled to tip extra. An example of going beyond is Singh in Retreat lounge. First night he didn't have my Fre non-alcaholic wine but went out and found a bottle. After the first night when he would hear us chatting with Mar he would Prepare Iain's Grey Goose and Tonic and my UN-Wine and have it sitting at the table for us. We always tip at the end of the cruise and write a personal note on a Thank You card. As a general rule all tips in Luminae, Blu and MDR are pooled as well as bars. I have been told by a HR manager that if you leave additional tips by placing a person's name on the Additional Tip form it goes to the individual. She was the one who applied it to their payroll check. I trust what she told me and have been personally thanked by the crew member.
  12. I'm running behind after having our first Port of Call yesterday. We arrived at 2:00 and tenders were running a bit slow. we left the ship around 2:45 on our Tour - 4x4 Rugged Off road Adventure. We didn't get back to the ship until 7:30 PM
  13. The sun is incredibly strong and temp at sea is about 78. Even with shorts and T it is warm. Pool is crowded and sun bathers are enjoying the half day at sea. Cabo’s is now visible.
  14. Supposedly you aren't suppose to be able to pull off your OBC. I was told that if you don't gamble at least 80% of what you move to the Slot Machine or Ticket you get locked out of taking out more for 24-48 hours. Once you have the slot ticket you can just go to the Cashier and Cash Out.
  15. I was actually thinking of booking Silk Harvest but if it's Petite Chief will give it a pass. Not a big fan. It was fun once or twice but would much prefer Murano or Tuscan
  16. Ugh... I've been sitting in the dark sipping coffee and messaging on CC. I have to say some of my text can even be funnier when voice recognition or auto correct puts in some pretty funny words.
  17. I agree. I spoiled it for Iain. I was in Modesto visiting our daughter and we watched Jeopardy on Monday. For some reason it wasn't blacked out there and I spoiled the TOC and when I called him I said how surprised I was with the bidding that gave Amy the win.
  18. Finally found out the passenger count. We set sail with 1,660 guests. Lots of Blue Chip Free and Looks like a Travel Agent FAM group. Saw them in a conference room presentation. Solstice has 1,425 Cabin so at Double Occupancy of all room 2,850 and Maximum capacity of 3,800 At double occupancy we are at 58% capacity. I was told the last cruise they only had 950 passengers and a staff of 1,000. The ship really feels empty and most bars even Martini Bar are often empty.
  19. You are correct. I just looked at the App. I had only seen it on the map and haven't' been aft of Michael's Club so far. Thanks for letting us know.
  20. We are not big gamblers but with the OBC we pulled of NR on the first night. Solstice has not upgraded their Slots and you can not using the tapping method to access your account and put money on the machine. You have to go to the Cashier and they will transfer in increments of $100. I initially took $300 and received 3 each $100 tickets. I initially played for awhile and then put all 3 in the machine and after 30 minutes cashed out of the Slot with a $360 ticket. I'll probably keep playing until closer to the end of the cruise before cashing out. Depending on how much we have on our account I may add to my ticket. We have $1,000 OBC to use up. Our agent gave us a choice when booking to either take a Refundable OBC or just take it off the front end. I chose to have him apply it front end. I usually like to take it as a Refundable and cash out last day of the cruise to maximize Mileage Points.
  21. That is what I remember on the ones I previously ones I purchased. I do always read the fine print. I was thinking our last one that we also needed to make sure it was assigned to our TA or transfer rather quickly. The good thing is you can also always book a place holder way in the future and then just transfer the sailing to one you want and you get to keep the perks. The games they play. We just have to find good strategy.
