  1. This is for the Disney fans. https://www.asgam.com/index.php/2022/10/10/reports-claim-disney-cruise-line-to-purchase-former-genting-hong-kong-cruise-ship-global-dream/
  2. It’s a bit out of the way ,there’s not a lot with in a few blocks But it’s quite. Its almost under the harbour bridge and if you like walks is great. You would have to get a ride to the cruise terminal thought.
  3. 99% of the time they will take a card but sometimes because of technical problems they can’t. As with the U.S. most people use card. Four seasons compared to Rydges? Rydges is slightly closer not by much ,there is stairs you will have to go down but you can walk straight into the upper level of the cruise terminal and catch the lift down. Four seasons is without a doubt is the better hotel but is expensive, 5 Star , a very attractive hotel. It’s a flat walk to the cruise terminal ,about 150 meters. So you are comparing a 3 star to a 5star. If you can afford the Four seasons, that would be my choice .
  4. Yes , I have lived in Sydney most of my 60 years and are glad to help. Just note , I haven’t ever taken the taxi. I much prefer the train. So I’m just guessing. 1. The airport to the Rocks is probably about half hour by taxi. 2. Taxi will cost about $50 3. The Rydges is about 100 meters ,it’s the closest hotel. It used to be a holiday inn so only about 3 star but very popular with cruisers. 4. Rydges is right in the middle of the Rocks , the main tourist area of sydney. Lots of places to eat, shop and take your money. 5. You can use your credit card everywhere, even on public transport . 6.Its up to you if you want to get local cash ,a lot of people here don’t have any cash .My daughter gives me a dumb look when she sees cash . I like to have a little but I’m a bit old fashioned. You can always give it to your cabin attendant as a tip .
  5. Have a look at this place. https://www.rydges.com/accommodation/sydney-nsw/sydney-harbour/ You probably won’t be able to get your room till about 2:00 . All of sydney is safe
  6. Four seasons if it’s in your budget is probably the best Hotel. for convenience and the harbour view rooms are the best. If you want something more affordable ,Rydges is extremely good for cruise ships. Taxi will cost about $A50
  7. The reason I thought of Ovation, for some reason it seems to have a cult following with the Americans . And if we get a seasonal Oasis,Sydney is where it will be going because they can’t fill Quantum out of Brisbane.Let alone a oasis class. Hey ,the trans pacific on Quantum is still on sale from Hawaii and that’s in a few days. Have a look at it ,there’s even suites available. I would jump at it but the airfare is the problem.
  8. There’s only A few short cruise for Navigator at that time, they will just cancel them . They might not leave L.A. completely. How about Ovation split between Alaska and L.A. over Christmas.
  9. If Navigator doesn’t go back to L.A. ??? It could do a dry dock in Singapore ,April early May and be on our east coast for a winter season. As Geoff said they could pull out of California all together or send something better to compete with carnival. Maybe a quantum class?
  10. That sounds something like what they where saying,a willing to sail list. It was only about 4 years ago ,they said someone would call them . I don’t know if it was a agent or Crown &Anchor but they would say we have a cheap cabin ,are you interested? But I have been asked years ago on the ship if I would like to stay for the next cruise. Also before Royal up my agent used to call about a paid upgrade and if anyone I knew wanted to go on the cruise.
  11. Let us see Ken . I was told by a few pinnacles you can .
  12. It’s cheap but if I can get it cheaper even better ,why not. The particular cruise is destined to go to a port that isn’t open and it doesn’t look like it will be.It will probably have to go somewhere else. So I would say there’s probably more cabins available than what is advertised. I just thought someone might know. I will keep an eye on it.
  13. I was told a few years ago before the shutdown that you can get on a standby list for cruises that are undersold. Has anyone had experience with this ? Im looking at a cruise in 5 weeks on Ovation and it’s already cheap and has about 180 balconies available.
  14. That’s good, you will be one of the first off to get to the airport.
  15. It must be something to do with taxes ,I just priced it of the Australian website and it adds up. Australian consumer Law say all prices advertised must include taxes and all other hidden costs.
  16. There’s 2 lines I believe. The first one is a suburban metro and the second one which is a few years away a express into Central. As you said it shouldn’t have a surcharge as it’s a government project. All the big freight companies are in the area .So there’s going to be a demand for passenger flights to put the freight in. I think it will be popular even though it’s a bit out of the way .
  17. Forget about those Hoity-Toity Princess ones . One night in Panthers will make a hard man humble And you won’t even need a Medallion.
