  1. Yes, it matters. You also don't have to get water. You can choose other beverages like soda. And once you are D+ I believe you can get beer. I'm also pretty sure bottled water is the default setting; you have to call C&A to switch your choice.
  2. I mistakenly just mentioned this to my wife who doesn't even gamble but LOVES The Goonies. Her response was "I need to find that machine!" 🤣 Heeeeeyyyyyy yooooooouuuuu guuuuyyysssss!
  3. I must be in the minority or too strong of a believer in the theory that people are far more likely to complain online rather than go out of their way to post positive experiences but I’m expecting to have an amazing time on Wonder in 3 weeks… just as I’ve had on every cruise I’ve ever taken. Appreciate hearing about some positive experiences nonetheless. Glad you both had a great cruise.
  4. It’s both the name of the pool bar(s) on Wonder & a couple other ships I think and a drink served there. Malibu, coconut milk, coconut syrup, guava syrup, lime juice.
  5. Certain bartenders must "borrow" drinks from other cruise lines. A server in the DL on Indy brought my wife a "Kiss on the Lips" (she doesn't really drink so he just wanted to bring her something fruity to try). I later learned it's a Carnival drink. Very sweet and very peach-y.
  6. I only asked b/c knowing her a bit, she's more likely to spend 3-4 weeks on Wonder (which I know she already did) than go near a 3 or 4-night cruise. I'm with you except that the prices for Indy are already high for the 3/4 cruises and if Utopia wasn't coming, I think we'd just have kept Allure that will be doing them for a little while. Would Allure be cheaper than Utopia? Probably, but I'm not sure by how much. I guess my general feeling is that the short cruise prices are going to be pretty awful no matter what going forward. Obviously I hope I'm wrong. Those aren't our typical cruises either but we did a few on Indy back in July and October just b/c of the price at the time. And one was a 3/4 B2B just to spend time on the ship and go to Cococay twice b/c we love it there.
  7. Just curious, why don't you want it here? I don't expect you to be going on short cruises, so what is your reasoning? Just making the port and Terminal 1 more crowded?
  8. You idea was fine when you had it, lol (I'm assuming it wasn't recently). Who knew? I have a friend who lives over by Canaveral and loves it. If the sky is clear, I can see the fire trail of the rocket launches from my pool over here near Disney... so there's that.
  9. And of course your position is fair, just different preferences. I can't comment on NCL, I just haven't been an MDR fan for a long time so I like having something besides WJ and Promenade Cafe. And fwiw, I am a WJ fan and I don't mind that the pizza from Sorrentos/Promenade Cafe isn't the best, it's edible to me.
  10. I still just wish it had one additional free/inexpensive venue like Playmakers, El Loco Fresh, Park Cafe, etc.
  11. Yes. I often order mudslides, more or less a frozen White Russian plus Baileys and chocolate syrup. Might as well be an adult milkshake but I'm just a big kid so that's OK with me. 😁
  12. As I posted above... "I'm thinking the prices are high for just about every cruise out of PC, lol." 😭 For a frugal cruiser used to booking last minute or using GGG or F&F sales (and not being retired or able to travel all the time), I'm really having to adjust. I feel very fortunate that we already had an extended family cruise on the books for next month from a year ago and we can't cruise again after that for few months due to personal stuff anyway. Then I stumbled into a very reasonable price for Wonder in March thanks to a new TA. This thread is making me appreciate that price even more. I just have to figure something out for Summer 2024 next.
  13. Yeah, Wonder was inflated from the start. But as recently as October there were 4-nighters on Indy for $129pp in the GGG sale for 4-5 straight weeks. Now the GGG flier is a joke. And in the past I could get last minute deals on Oasis class ships in the summer (my wife is a teacher so we're more or less on a school schedule even though we have no kids). I haven't been on Voyager class in forever but yes.
  14. I'm thinking the prices are high for just about every cruise out of PC, lol. I just got what I have to now consider a good price on Wonder for Spring Break 2024 (and it actually is a decent price all things considered). The new normal is crazy. I don't care for anything smaller than Voyager class and I was even looking at Enchantment out of Tampa b/c it's cheap and still a short drive for me. 🙈
  15. Only 16? Surely you would have booked more if you really liked it THAT much. 🤣
  16. You will almost definitely wind up with a JS.
  17. It’s on Wonder. Looking forward to trying it in 3 weeks. As for non-menu drinks… anything frozen (always wondered why there’s no frozen drink list in the standard menu). Too common so no reason just like no reason to list “Gin & Tonic” or “Rum & Coke”? Not everything is a daiquiri or pina colada. Anyway, a few frozens… Kraken Colada, Mudslide, BBC, Bushwhacker.
  18. You will be able to get off the ship before Oasis passengers do. Chill Island. Just ask one of the many crew members you will see as you're walking towards Cococay and they can direct you. You can also find it on a map, of course. it's to the left as you enter.
  19. FWIW, WJ does make food to order when they can meet your request. My young niece has severe tree nut and sesame allergies. She doesn't eat many things (due to being a picky little kid, lol) but loves hot dogs. The WJ has made her hot dogs in the back to avoid any possible cross-contamination from the ones out in the buffet. Now can they cook something without added I salt? No idea. Perhaps one option would be the cook to order station many windjammers have. There is often a pasta or wok station were you select your ingredients (noodles, protein, veggies, sauce, etc.) The veggies are clearly raw but perhaps avoiding certain sauces would meet your friend's needs? Just throwing something out there. I'm neither a chef nor a nutritionist so maybe this isn't helpful at all.
  20. Good to hear. Had a great cruise on Harmony last May. Ironically, I just finished reading a review from someone on your cruise on another site and they complained about just about every aspect of the ship from the service to the food to ports (not sure how the ports are RC's fault, lol). Enjoy the rest of your cruise!
  21. Aww... that sucks. Obviously still worth switching to for free like the OP did but I thought that looked like a very fun & unique touch.
  22. This is rare but does happen. Hope you were OK with rolling with it. Enjoy your cruise!
