Might Wanna Pack Conditioner
lovesthebeach2 replied to SMMRLUVN's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Even though I bring my own shampoo AND conditioner AND products, I still find my hair becomes totally unmanageable and VERY dry after a few days and I’m thinking it’s the water. So I bring more products than I usually need at home. and we’re D+ and get their supposedly upgraded products……nope….still ruins my hair. -
Travel Insurance Recommendations
lovesthebeach2 replied to kellyco's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Since we cruise many times a year, we have the Allianz Annual policy. You can insure the amounts that you’re comfortable with based on your needs. -
Next year we’re taking a cruise from Southampton. We’ve been to Europe many times, but never cruised from there, so we have lots of questions. We would love recommendations for hotels or places to stay close to the cruise terminal, or nearby for a short taxi or Uber ride to the pier. We love B&Bs so if anyone has some to recommend that would be great too Which airport is preferable to fly into for ease of travel to the port (or hotel) What things are not to miss for the few pre-cruise days we’re there? We would love to go to Stonehenge, but don’t know what else is there. Thanks!

I can’t offer any advice as my kids are adults. I do have 4 grandsons and just last week my 8 year old was over told me and he gets bullied in school and so I’ve been teaching him that when others are mean it’s all about them, not him. I explained why others behave that way. I’m teaching him from the amazing book “The Four Agreements”. Everyone should read it. I’m betting you, your son and your family will have a wonderful trip. Enjoy!

Going going gone sale
lovesthebeach2 replied to The Sunset Glow's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I need a new link for the GGG sale. Mine shows only last year. Thanks. EDIT. I found it above….. -
I was thinking that possibly Royal’s strategy for all the short 3 and 4 day “weekend cruises” they’re focusing on will make more money for them because beverage packages and wifi looks better (cheaper) on a 3 day cruise than a 7 day cruise, and they’ll sell more on them. PLUS raising the prices for 7 day cruises that based on this thread looks like seasoned cruisers that get all the extra “loyalty perks” are considering branching out to other lines, they’ll be saving a bunch of $$ for all the Drinks, wifi, BOGO dinners, they don’t have to give to us loyal cruisers.. its a WIN WIN for Royal…………for now.
-
If we have to pay those prices, we want a better cruiseline, so we still will cruise, but for now we’re looking at Silversea. Yes, it’s a bit higher than Royal suites, but an upscale line and being a Royal company, we can still get the shareholder credit, although since everything is included, it will be hard to decide how to use it,🤷🏼♀️

I’m not sure if it’s because we live in Florida, but so many TV ads the past couple of days are all “Weekend Cruising” commercials for families showing young kids on all the amusement type pool activities. Theres nothing wrong with that, but it shows that clearly Royal’s primary target audience is families with young children. Again, that’s ok. But with so many of the large ships out of Florida doing only 3 and 4 night cruises, their current audience which likes to take longer cruises, and not short cruises as B2Bs, are being overlooked, and they seem to be closing the door to many that usually take multiple cruises at a time and do this often. Yes, they have 2 other cruise lines we can use, but I hope this decision to focus on “Weekend Cruises” only where most who book them will not take multiple cruises like so many of us do, doesn’t backfire. I don’t like to use the word “Loyal” but we’ve been happily comfortable cruising with Royal, but if we look around and try other lines, we can get comfortable there too…. And we cruise more than a weekend a year as do many others that have more time and money than young families.

we just booked our first Silversea cruise to Alaska next year. We were in a suite on Wonder and wanted to book it again in a year, but the price for 7 day cruise was higher than we saw on Silversea that includes EVERYTHING - door to door, starting with pickup and drop off from our home! Plus it’s an upscale line, smaller ships with so much ocean views and way better food! and everything is included, even excursions. So we booked that! It was crazy what Royal wanted to charge. We still have a bunch of cruises on Royal, but haven’t booked one lately. Our new cruises are on Celebrity and Silversea. We’re not fond of 3 or 4 night cruises, I don’t like the “vibe”.

New 3rd dining time for traditional dining

We’ve been seeing that for quite awhile too. The poster was asking about a Med cruise and routinely they mostly still did the later dinners, but things changed … -
We’ve done that itinerary on Odyssey and it was fine. Enjoy!

New 3rd dining time for traditional dining
lovesthebeach2 replied to cruiseboy89130's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Our confirmation said 6pm but our sea pass cards said 5:30 so I assume sometime between the day we booked the cruises and when we boarded things changed. This was Odyssey on a Med B2B and both legs said 5:30. -

On our last B2B on Odyssey in the Med, our time showed 6pm but they wanted us there by 530. I’ve noticed this on most cruises lately, the times on our reservation get pushed back by half hour. -
We’ve never noticed any problems with kids on any Med cruises. I think it will be fine but what ship is it?
