  1. I usually hang mine from the ceiling on a hook by the A/C vent. I bring shirts that after washing, doing a dance on the shirt wrapped in a towel, and hanging by the vent it dries very quickly. I use the fan at night. We love that fan!
  2. I bring a small all plastic USB desk fan on every cruise. It’s totally plastic…..in a box. I would cry if they took it away.
  3. Well to be fair, in Italy wine is thought of almost like water. In fact when I was very little when we would go to my grandparents for holidays (or anytime) the kids all sat at a small table in the kitchen, and we were all given a small glass of grandpas homemade wine. I thought it was awful. I remember it was purple. I hated it. But we all had to drink it. I agree…Gotta love Italians.
  4. yes I had an organic garden for over 20 years, so I’ve seen many types of bugs. What happened to me in Key West wasn’t from a bug. I should have gone to a doctor, it lasted weeks.
  5. I rarely ever eat meat, only occasionally chicken, so I wouldn’t even go near most of the breakfast foods, especially sausage and bacon which don’t agree with me. But reading some of these comments about salads makes me say EEK, well then, what’s left for me to eat 😳 breakfast for me is usually smoked salmon, a piece of cheese and some fresh fruit. I eat this every day when I’m on a ship.
  6. When I read this I looked in what I call my cruise “pharmacy bag” and sure enough I also have Imodium. Plus pills for if you can’t go…. I pretty much have everything. My DH says, packing for a cruise is easy…for him it is. Until he got sick last year on a TA and said do we have cold meds….i said, well I do, did you bring any 😁. He got the hint. But of course he used them all.
  7. Oh boy that’s awful! I ended up once getting something when I had a salad in a Key West many years ago and had runs for almost a month, but didn’t feel sick otherwise. Hubby asked why I didn’t go to the dr, but I said, maybe it will help me lose some weight…😁 I just looked at my “pharmacy bag” and I do carry Imodium, I had forgotten that. did you say what ship you were on?
  8. What do you pack for the runs? I’d like to add it to my cruising pharmacy bag 😁
  9. The sausages definitely look undercooked to me! And shame on the chef and staff for not acknowledging it. I hope others didn’t get sick. I always say nothing is a coincidence, and this is an example of that. I hope your husband has fully recovered. I would send the photos and your detailed comments to Michael Bayley. The chef needs to be spoken to, if for nothing else, for the rude way he treated you.
  10. I’ve always loved the solarium on Radiance class ships! Looking forward to boarding in Ravenna!
  11. We just noticed and came here to see…..
  12. Im sitting here laughing because what seems like a century ago when we went on a cruise with friends and we brought a box of wine to share. Like you said, not a peep….and it was a Royal ship
  13. Is that when it changed? That was more than just booze related…….
  14. Thats what we remember too. That was before booze packages if I recall correctly.
  15. That wouldn’t be in royals best interest. first, many do it and they know it, so by signaling someone out and letting others go doesn't look good for a company that turns their head away in many other situations. They would announce it on social media, and even though its wrong, many get away with it, Plus, that passenger may have spent much more money than the zero Royal would get if they were disallowed that person boarding. But I’m not saying it’s right to do, or would we do it and never have.
  16. On the world cruise I guess you would need to keep track of all the ports missed, I guess it’s a hassle to me. On many cruises we’ve had to skip a port due to a multitude of reasons, and it’s not worth it to me, especially if they make it up with another port. Not sure my annual policy covers that anyway, although I’ve never looked at it in detail.
  17. I agree with your post regarding Disney cruises. This is a food thread, so I was curious if his response was about their food. But what I’m seeing is that Royals market focus IS currently on families with very young children, for “weekend” cruises of 3 or 4 days. I think only 1 ship in Port Canaveral is doing 7 day cruises, the others are all doing the shorties geared towards families with young kids. Every commercial being shown on TV here in Florida are all for weekend family cruises of 3 or 4 nights showing very young kids sliding down the waterslide. Thats their market focus at this time. Thats why we’re moving on from cruising with Royal here. I’ll still cruise in Europe, but after the ones that are booked are done, I don’t want a ship full of kids running around like we saw on the NYE cruise we took. It was awful, even young kids were running around unsupervised, clogging the staircases, running up and down the halls being rude. I have a high tolerance for kids, but that cruise for what we paid on an old ship for NYE….never again.
  18. Have you ever done this? When our Holy Land cruise last year got changed to remove Israel from our itinerary 1 week before our cruise, the last thing on my mind was calling my insurance company to try to get money back for the changed ports. Yes, we had to miss all of Israel, but gained beautiful ports that were never on our radar Do people do this?
  19. I think so, but even if you don’t get it you’ll still be able to see the celebration at midnight from the promanade.
  20. I’m curious why you wouldn’t cruise Disney, because although we’ve only taken a few - without kids - the food was way above in quality and taste to what Royal ever had, and I’m including years ago when Royals food was better compared to what they have now. We haven't done a Disney cruise in many years mostly because they’re so expensive.
  21. In our community we have a farmers market on Mondays and Fridays and last week they had Pink Pineapple! I have never heard of it before. They sold it already cut in half so you could see it was pink…..we didn’t get it as I had already paid and didn’t want to stand in line again.
  22. One of the best changes Royal made was the vouchers! I would love it even more if they did the same on Celebrity.
  23. I’m curious how many would pay that! You have to drink ALOT, to even come close to that being better than just buying the drinks
