  1. We have just completed the Randox test and the certificates came through in 3 minutes.
  2. I was under the impression when selecting our seats the P&O crowd are assigned to a block on the plane therefore easy to identify.
  3. Update on Randox PCR for those who need a PCR test (P&O require it for under 11 unvaccinated). As stated before, the sample was posted using the enclosed envelope with the prepaid 24 delivery label attached on Monday at midday and email with certificate attached arrived at 8pm on Tuesday. This gives time for me to print it out but of course email could be used.
  4. Good point but this is a P&O related thread.
  5. It seems to me that a reliable source for a test is Randox. My granddaughter (well her mother) sent of a swab sample to them yesterday lunchtime and she has received an email stating the progress every step of the which is very reassuring as the post, even tracked has know to be a little unreliable at times. She expects the result by midnight today which I think is a good turn around time from sending the sample.
  6. Thanks for that comprehensive write up, we are due to do our tests on Wednesday. Has used Randox in the evening.
  7. After the two cruises I have booked and fully paid for are over I’m not going with P&O anymore. I have cancelled and lost deposits for two cruises.
  8. It is very unfortunate this, "the investigation will take 28 days" is also used to fob you off I believe. In my case I have submitted a complaint about an upcoming cruise. I was looking for some form of small compensation or even move the cruise to later this year as certain facilities like the evening nursery will not be available. I received the aforementioned standard response but the big problem is 28 days is after the cruise. As a result I have cancelled two future cruises, a 14 night and a 28 night and we have said we will no longer use P&O as our go to cruise line. So was that cheaper for them?
  9. Good to hear you had a good time. according to our itinerary there are two formal nights with the second the night before we disembark. For me this is unusual as it could mean formal wear being packed into hand luggage or does the luggage have to go out much later than I’m used to?
  10. @DS_Deandid you have pay for Covid test onboard (I think you were on the Greece and Turkey itinerary)?
  11. I can't say I'm sorry for them, although it is not their fault they need to feedback up the chain of command but at customer services the comments only reach as far as the bin. The whole thing could have been avoided with a simple email from P&O explaining the situation. It is called communication and managing expectations. I learnt all this when I worked in a customer service environment. The modern trend is perceived service which is somewhat different to actual service.
  12. Thanks but I'm sorry to say the likelihood your complaint made it to head office is about the same as P&O will learn to communicate.
  13. I have got a reply from the Executive Offices of the Carnival Group to say they are looking into my complaint and the investigation may take up to 28 days. I board on the 26th of May! I replied pointing this out and with that in mind the only settlement that is now acceptable is monetary compensation whereas before I was happy with being able to transfer the cruise to another date or extra OBC. I would suggest we need more people to write with complaints, not too customer services but to (not sure if I can add an email address) executive dot correspondence at carnivalukgroup dot com I hope you can decode. I will keep you all informed.
  14. DS_Dean said “no conditioner” that implies no bottles to top up.
  15. How does it cut down on plastic? They used to top up a bottle that was already there, now they have to bring a new bottle. Cut down on cost more like it.
  16. I'm going on a cruise out of Malta with my wife, son, daughter-in-law and 2 granddaughters at the end of May. I have a few questions: Does anyone know it the reduced cabin service includes the making up of the sofa bed in the evening or will they have to do it themselves? Is the laundry / dry cleaning and pressing service available now? I know on Iona in February is wasn't. Where is smoking allowed, what area? I know where it is not allowed. Thanks for your help.
