It happens all the time in every country, I book many hotel bargain breaks here in the UK. & I know one that at times offers £20 off, but when I check the offer out it has the prices upped by £20.

. I try to avoid the 'butlins' venues on any ship and the buffet at bun fight times is best avoided on all ships.
Can I ask were they Hot Cross Buns.:D:D

Manual Martinez a Yorkshire lad if I remember, he is so funny. As others, saw him on the Ocean Village & Azura.

This should be posted on Ports of Call.
#Visit Tarquinia beautiful hill top village & easy to get to by public bus

Thanks again all.
The Tomportsguides are brilliant, pity we only can use it for only two Ports of Call.
Cheers.

Snotter.
We too are on the 17th Jan Cuban Fusion, it will be our second week on the cruise.
When I booked the itinerary was different than what was in the brochure, but recently discovered why, I was looking at the Winter2015/Summer2016 brochure.:mad:
Cheers.

WCM.
I do that & it is super that you can see where you want to go, but unfortunately the yellow man does not work in a lot of our stops, I try to download Google maps but I can only download bits of it. I am not very good on the computer maybe I am doing it wrong.
Cheers.

Thank you.

Will be on the Dream Panama & Cuban fusion.
Do Thompsons give literature & Maps of Ports of Call?
Thank you.

We usually DIY in Ports of Call, walking from ship & getting local buses.
On this itinerary the hardest is Colon, as every forum says do not walk around the town as it is very dangerous. Best to hire a taxi for 3/4 hours.:(
Next hardest Montego Bay. We do not like to sunbath for more than 1/2 hour or so as we like to get to a beach & walk along it & taking a dip, but in Mobay you can't as most beaches are private. :(
All the other stops are very good.:)

We have the same itinerary, as we get off you get on.
Go to "Boards" & log into Ports of Call. I have trawled through all the posts & have found many tips,
I look forward to Cartagena most of all, just a taxi to the walls & then walk all around the place.
Cheers.

Sorry " misinterpreted".

Marci22.
I agree with you regarding the water waitress, it may have been us imagining things, with her standing there she may have just wanted a chat, but having been introduced to tipping with the shuttle & car hire, we may have interpreted her intention. We didn't tip any by the way, as we didn't have change for the shuttle & car hire.
The tipping culture just makes us uncomfortable:o.
Cheers.

Also I note that there are SET taxis whose drivers are like guides, not really bothered to hear a commentary. There are also yellow taxis, are these cheaper than SETs
-
Trawling the internet I have come across various prices for the hire of Taxis,
Examples $8 per hour not sure if it is for per taxi , or per person.
Same $30 to $45 for about 3 hours. Per taxi? per person?
A definitive answer would be welcomed, I do realise that taxis are negotiable.
Taxi 3 hours for 2 or 4 people to visit locks (no museum) & Fort San Lorenzo.
:confused::confused::confused:
Thank you.

Tipping will always be contentious as it is a cultural thing.
In the UK, Australia & Europe tipping is not the norm, people do tip, some don't it is the way it is.
North Americans tip & it's their culture. The first time visiting the U.S. we got the shuttle bus to the car hire firm & the driver definitely seemed to want a tip, then the car hire firm had our car driven a few hundred yards so we could pick it up, same thing the man stood there waiting for a tip, another place a girl poured out water in cafe & again stood there, this left us very uncomfortable as we are not used to tipping. My wife has just come back from New York & leaving the hotel she was carrying a case & one of the staff insisted on carrying the case the few yards to the taxi & yes he put his hand out.
As I have said it is different cultures & will never be agreed on.
Saying this I do tip, not all the time( I do adjust compulsorily tipping) & don't like passengers that minus to zero

Vitalsign.
I know & it makes it more silly for me. I think I was really looking forward to shooting some baskets & I must have read all with blinkered eyes.
Anyway thank you for your 8th Dec post.

We will be getting a taxi from cruise terminal to Aqua Sol & on trawling through posts want the definitive reply on cost.
I have noted $20 & then some say haggle to $10, I am not sure whether this charge is per person or for the taxi . i.e. if 4 are in the taxi will the charge work out cheaper.
Thank you

It wasn't a wind up on my part, but have to admit I didn't read the posts properly.:mad:

You seem a delightful chap.

Not sure what you're getting at:confused::confused:

It is now a greenhouse. I can understand now that it maybe too hot, if it has a basketball ring is the "greenhouse" high, as if not you can't shoot properly.
I hope I can do some shots, I used to play to a high standard( for the UK anyway) 45 years ago & on a cruise is the only chance to play a bit.
-
Thanks for the quick response, as long as there is one I am happy:)

On looking on videos of Dream in 2014 it shows the Sports deck with a basketball ring & net, is this still the case?
Mykonos, Greece suggestions please
