  1. That is the main rider for us when booking early , we know where we want to be and usually a specific cabin if we have been on the ship previously, it can be disappointing when prices drop but in most cases once we've booked we don't look again
  2. However the e mail did ramble on a bitπŸ˜†
  3. Had a clarification e mail from P and O confirming our upcoming month long cruise in September does not require an observed or certificated test before boarding πŸ‘
  4. I think you hit the nail on the head there
  5. We are very fortunate as the red arrows make an appearance every year at armed forces day , this year we had a spitfire as well
  6. We are by some peoples standards late to cruising (16years) and have also not had some of the experiences of lots of seasoned travellers, we have always enjoyed what has been offered but do admit it is not the same as it was when we had our early cruises, and believe that covid may have accelerated these changes
  7. Not trying to apportion blame , just making an observation🀣🀣🀣🀣
  8. Cant remember ever dining in the buffet and in fairness the point was not aimed solely at cruises
  9. Quite correct they are not obliged to talk to each other , and yes we have seen lots of couples not speaking to each other throughout the whole meal and that's their choice for whatever reason. We see this because we ARE observant πŸ˜‘ The whole point is that some people are unable to exist without one strapped to their ear or hands
  10. Well I have to beg to differ , our observations of people is they sit down ,get out their phones ,ignore everything that's going on around them , including the waiting staff who wish to take their order, don't usually say two words to each other then eat using one hand, (knives are becoming redundant), these are not people sitting with strangers, but with partners or family, can't remember seeing anyone with a newspaper or magazine at a dining table before or after mobile phones
  11. Well just when you could do with a cooling see breeze, you don't get one!! But not complaining because before too long we'll be wishing it was warmer and that the breeze/strong winds would go away. My good lady is going to London for the weekend to see our daughter and suspect that my cold wind bitten Yorkie lady may find it a tad warmπŸ₯΅
  12. Must admit I can never understand the rush , especially at the late show, unless people are desperate to get to bed or the bar
  13. Understandable in those circumstances, but as davecctr has mentioned why do people have to have them glued to their ears or hands, we have lost count of the times tables have all sat looking at mobiles and hardly speaking ( not as much on ships admittedly) they are, and have killed the art of conversation
  14. Yes he was, and is a very likable person with a nice demeanor πŸ‘
  15. Well done on your honesty, suspect you would be in the minority though, and nice to hear you were well looked after, and good you received a fcc
  16. Losing a beloved pet is one of the most difficult things to deal with, had to do it so many times and last time swore never again , lo and behold we are now virtually permanent dog sitters to our daughters sausage dog and I dread the day when he is no longer with us , I share your pain on your loss
  17. Been a busy weekend in the garden , soooo many apples on the trees this year we have picked enough to make three large batches of apple sauce which we will freeze for later and our lovely neighbours have also been given enough to do the same, the eaters are coming so thick and fast that we cant give them away fast enough and the plums are nearly pulling the branches to the ground, so I suspect a lot of plum jam will be made by our couple next door, the tomatoes and peppers this year are the best crops we have ever had, add to that the strawberries and raspberries' which we have been given by our neighbours and its been a very "fruitful" year , just hope we can get them all harvested before going away in early September. Normally one year we will get masses of plums but less apples and the next year it reverses , this year we have had both together, will be interesting to see what comes next year
  18. The loen skylift is very impressive ,especially on a clear day, you may have to queue a while to get on as its very popular
  19. A long time since I checked Freds prices , my stars they have shot up a lot
  20. We have been on these two ships a number of times ,sometimes when they are full but never felt overcrowded ,however we are not too bothered about been near pools etc and can always find a quiet place to relax, the time will soon be here though that large refurbishment will be required
  21. Wouldn't worry to much about the Norwegian ports as you will probably miss most of themπŸ˜„
  22. Luckily I only have one older sister πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  23. When I was growing up we never ,ever had a holiday, it was something you just accepted as my parents couldn't afford it , when we had our children we did go on family holidays and we had such good times and have many happy memories of them. Now we usually holiday as a couple but on the odd occasion they have travelled with us and it has been just as enjoyable as it always was. It would appear that Aldousmo's gripe is more with P and O or Ventura than anything else, however don't let it spoil what should be a pleasure
