    Luvcrusn,

We had the same challenge on our last cruise in August (more nonrefundable OBC than we could use).  A few days before the end of the cruse we received our remark/comments form and it had a place for additional tips. We filled in the names of the staff and the amounts we wanted to give them, took it to guest services, checked that we had filled it out properly and handed it in.

We told the staff members what we had done (the amounts were

added to their wages). One of them came up to us and told us that he had already been advised what we had done and the amount.

The amount of the daily gratuiites goes into the tip pool, additional gratuities, over and above the daily amount, go to the staff member regardless as to how you provided it. If you remove the daily gratuities than any amount given to the staff member goes inrto the tip pool.

Did exactly the same thing on our last two cruises, Summit in Jun, and Reflection in Nov.

  2. I have an unrelated question. I have a 14 night cruise booked Dec 7th 2018 on Reflection. We are in Aqua class and paid just under 5K with 2 perks (beverage pkg and pre-paid gratuities) and 500 obc. Is this a good deal? I am on the fence where sometimes I think it is too much and then other times I think it's a good deal. Appreciate your opinion. Thanks.

Looks like a good deal to me. Just received a notice from a TA that the 14 day leaving on 4 Jan, same itinerary, Cat 2D Balcony cabin is going for $3199 pp (no perks).

  3. Our next cruise has a very, very active Roll Call (over 1000 posts). It is a 14-day, leaving in Jan. We have some terrific folks that have stepped up to create spreadsheets, host pub crawls, etc. It should be a great cruise.

  4. Does anyone know when the dining/activities are updated for future a cruise? I see my next cruise listed (a 14 day), but only see 10 days of menus so know the menus may not be correct. Trying to figure out what days would be best for speciality dining so I can make reservations.

  5. We just got off the Eclipse and they added 3 drinks on our sea card per day, good from 5 to 7pm.

Are there certain bars they must be used in, or is it an anywhere goes policy, including dining room?

  6. The fan I took was a small rechargeable. I put it on nightstand aimed directly at me; it lasted the night and I used an USB to recharge it during the day. I have terrible night sweats ... though not as good as a large ceiling fan, it did make life bearable.

  7. We will be boarding Summit in September for the New England & Canada cruise. All our previous Celebrity cruises have been on Solstuce Class ships. My concern is storage space in Aqua class ( deck 11 too) . Is their overhead storage over the bed? Any storage in the bathroom. The pictures on CC have us concerned.

Was just on Summit on Deck 11. No over the bed storage. There was 5 or 6 drawers in closet area. In addition upper and lower clothing racks in a two door closet with a shelf above for the life jackets. There was 4 shelves on the vanity with a door to shut them off from the prying eye that I used for makeup, flat iron, cameras. The bathroom had very small drawers and a corner unit with I think 2 shelves. There is also a clothesline in the shower for wet items and the bedside tables had small drawers. We had to utilize suitcases under the bed for items that we didn’t use often (I.e, aspirin, bandages, those items I bought along “just in case”. FYI for those that care ... no magnets could be utilized on the balcony (didn’t stick to anything out there ... I usually take a magnetic cloths line (I know tacky) to hang smelly gym clothing on.

  8. Loved 1141 on the Summit. Movies didn’t bother us, could hear slightly, but in no way hindered our enjoyment of the balcony. A few afternoons there was a singer in the aft bar, very nice to sit/relax on balcony and listen to music. If that is not your “thing” and you think music/movies would bother you, then I would move. With that said, I will try and book the A1 aft balconies on M-class ships in the future.

  9. Can I get a Catamaran Tour at The Dockyard without prearrangement? if so, are there any to avoid? Not interested in ship’s selection, so thought we would “wing it”

  10. The roof top movies are free except the food and wine pairing. We also will be on the June 15th cruise. we get to Bayonne about 10Am and never had a problem at that time. The busiest I think is about 11-noon. Looking forward to meeting you.

Hi, can you tell me a little about the food and wine paring? Can this be reserved before getting on board, and if so, is it located in the website cruise planner? Thanks to much

  11. My first ever cruise was on a Royal Caribbean ship and it hooked me on cruising. Thereafter, we found a fit on Celebrity, since there's no smoking indoors and I can actually use the casino and don't have to go "up and around" to avoid walking through it as I have to do on all Royal ships. I also prefer the level of service, the food in both the MDR and specialty restaurants, only one daily announcement, no need to pre-book shows and the Aqua class cabins and Blu on X. After taking many X cruises, DH and I saw an itinerary we liked on Royal that wasn't available on X about 4 years ago. Although we had a nice time, there were many issues that made us miss sailing with X and we agreed that we missed the service level of X.

Thanks ... just the type of info I was looking for.
