  2. Have been reading horror stories on various Princess ships about little or no internet service unless the ship is in port. Our previous sailings on the Regal in 2018 & 2019 we did not experience anything like this. What has happened that the service is so slow or non existent and will it be fixed, replaced, upgraded some time soon? We have a 17 night trip on the Sky booked in late 2024 and really don't want to be out of touch for most of those days.
  3. Well we ARE coming home in business class for the first time so it should be better, still that many hours is still just not something we look forward to. It is a disadvantage (for us) on East bound TA's. Not so bad when the flight is at the beginning and all you have to do is enjoy the cruise home afterwards!!!
  4. Apex shows an outdoor area for the Fine Cut, has anyone here been seated in that area? Is it protected from the elements at all? Is it quieter than the indoor area?
  5. There is no step up to the bathroom in the CS on Apex. The bath/shower IS difficult to get in and out of and there is no "real" grab bar inside the tub itself. Just a half bar. When the ship is rocking if you are in high seas it can be very unsteady when taking a shower. I'm not mobility challenged, but did not like the bath/shower especially in rough seas which we had a lot of on the fall 2022 TA.
  6. Reading on the balcony, sipping wine on the balcony and everywhere else on the ship. Relaxing sea days to rest up for the ports to come, this time quite a few of them, like TA's were in the past. Enjoying Luminae and all it's unique dishes. Meeting new people. Ending in Amsterdam, our first visit, where we get to explore for a few days. Dislike--- the long ass flight home......ugh.
  7. Was the tasting menu even available at Eden last week? As I recall a few months ago that menu was eliminated, or has it not been brought back.
  8. True......but to get stuck with a $100,000+ evacuation bill because the decision was not made to spend the $375 for MedJet coverage is not something we are willing to test. We know of several situations that happened with people who had coverage and those that didn't that had accidents or illness occur fr from home and those with Medjet got home and the others did too...eventually and at great cost. They now carrry it too. Once burned and all. Peace of mind is worth a few hundred dollars when travelling 10's of 1000's miles from home.
  9. I just renewed yesterday at $375 for DH and myself total. That is with discount for AARP membership. We have both GeoBlue and Medjet. Peace of mind is important too and with the cost of travelling these days it seems a very small part of the overall bill. Medjet also works within the USA, not just internationally.
  10. BC/BS, they did not have Geo Blue. We do have Geo Blue, but we also carry MedJet. It's just much more reassuring to KNOW that you can get home rather quickly rather than depend on an insurance company to wade through the fine print and find reason NOT to get you home. At $375.00 total for both of us for AARP members annually it's well worth it to us for the peace of mind it provides.
  11. No, they won't get you home. Many medical policies have "evacuation" coverage but there are many caveats attached. Our friends thought they were covered because their policy had "evacuation coverage" but ONLY if the insurance company felt it was medically necessary. She had a shattered hip with several breaks and needed surgery and her insurance said she just do that in Lanzarote rather then get her home to her own doctors. Medjet would have gotten her home.
  12. Haven't read every post here but along with GeoBlue we NEVER travel without MedJet evacuation coverage. MedJet will get us home. It is inexpensive and well worth every penny. We had friends that were stranded on Lanzarote without proper evacuation coverage and cost them over $120,000 to get home. MedJet would have gotten them home.
  13. Have seen all of that in the buffet area but outside there have never seen any of the above in the MDR or Luminae at dinner. Lunch is much more relaxed everywhere.
  14. Never played bingo on a ship...but would like someone to explain how Deal or no Deal works on a ship if someone would take the time to explain.
  15. Agree the two times we've tried the Crown Grill, both before Covid, the food was just okay and the service once was lousy and the other time only fair. Sabatini's a far better choice.
  16. Interesting comments. We've have cruised 3 times on the Regal in a full suite and at no point did they serve alcoholic beverages in the Concierge Lounge. Has this changed? Would be nice to know that this perk has been added as the lounge was very nice but since we couldn't even get a glass of wine there we didn't use it much.
  17. HA... I purposely typed M & S.......just because...welll because...🤣😂
  18. We are also on the upcoming Apex TA. Picked it because there are several new ports for us and it ends in Amsterdam. But you're right about the prices on E class ships. We will be looking at M & S class after this cruise and unfortunately other lines too.
  19. Actually the Luminae menus really haven't changed much since 2015 when Luminae was created. A few tweaks here and there but the menu that Eclipse had on the first sailing with Luminae in April 2015 is very close to what we had on the Apex in November 2022, and on the 5 other X sailings in between those dates.
  20. Celebrity has been our first choice in the past but with the new pricing that will most likely not be the case in the future. We have sailed with Royal, Princess, HAL & Carnival. Won't do Carnival again and doubtful about HAL but we have a 2024 Princess booked and Royal remains a possibility the entertainment on both is better than X offers and pricing is certainly better especially on Princess.
  21. Likely RC made the change because the majority of their passengers don't have a beverage package... or at least they are not "included" automatically as it seems Celebrity's are. Limiting the amount of alcohol you can bring on board means more wine being purchased by the passenger. Celebrity allowing 2 per person when you already have a beverage package included means less wine being drunk on X's dime.
  22. That is such a great site!!! My go to when trying to find the right state room.
  23. Could the difference in # of cabins be those deck 11 Aqua rooms added several years ago?
