sofa bed in standard size balcony cabins for 3rd pax?
Itchy&Scratchy replied to sandinmyshoes's topic in Princess Cruises
that's not how it looked in our deluxe balcony room on Enchanted and Regal. The foot of the bed was touching the chair in front of the table. It's that tight. There was no way to walk between the sofa and the table - we had to climb over the bed to get to the balcony. And the sofa bed is a lot narrower - it's the width of the regular bed. -
sofa bed in standard size balcony cabins for 3rd pax?
Itchy&Scratchy replied to sandinmyshoes's topic in Princess Cruises
as a person who has personally sampled the sofa bed on Regal and Enchanted Princesses, I must say - he won't be very comfortable. I am 5'6, just a hair under 200#. Our child was comfortable on it because he is 5'3 and 125# (but he prefers pullman beds). perhaps, if he does get very uncomfortable, the lighter of the two parents could switch with him? Or not. I wouldn't get a forward facing balcony for an Alaska cruise. I'd get a regular side or aft facing one. -
When does the drink package start on a cruise?
Itchy&Scratchy replied to bguppies's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
apparently not, I just followed the link somebody provided just above and it says (for the soda package): "Applicable state and local sales taxes will be charged to the guest's folio when this program is used within US waters. The tax is based on the state’s tax structure and the cost of the individual drink purchased (not the daily program rate). For example: if the drink price is $2 and the tax is 10%, the guest’s Sail & Sign card will be charged $0.20 for tax. This applies to all US ports (embarkation home ports and ports-of-call)." -

what about a soda package for minors while in port? do the kids also have to pay taxes on each soda? -
I hope you get better soon! I would also not abandon the entire cruise line you have enjoyed over the years over one CS representative. She may have been new and was told she had to inquire about the cancellation reason.
-
not really, because you are not obligated to take an excursion in general and you are not obligated to purchase MSC excursions only. You can always book a 3rd party excursion.
-
well, yes, but it's like that for all the lines which we've been on. We never see prices until you book a cruise and you only see prices for that cruise.
-
the best bet is to book an MSC excursion in a tender port, per seasoned MSC cruisers. Especially, if the time in port is very short.

I posted a lot of MDR food photos - see Enchanted link in my signature.

Seascape - 10 Sep 2023 - First Time MSC - Yacht Club Review
Itchy&Scratchy replied to Hutcha's topic in MSC Cruises
yeah, but it doesn't differentiate them by "class." -
unfortunately, what it should be like oftentimes differs from what it really is for MSC. 😞

well, cr@p. Both my dad and I are screwed. Were there any wheelchairs available at the peer? I wonder. -
I now have a question about the specialty coffee included in the Easy Plus package. I understand that these should be included: Caffetteria Espresso € 2.00 Decaffeinated coffee € 2.00 Double espresso € 4.00 Iced coffee € 2.50 Coffee with whipped cream € 2.50 American-style coffee € 2.00 American-style coffee with milk € 2.50 Cappuccino € 3.75 Cappuccino with rice milk / soy milk € 4.00 Caffè latte € 3.75 Barley coffee € 2.25 Ginseng coffee big cup € 3.00 small cup € 2.25 Glass of milk € 1.50 - although I don't understand why MSC is charging for milk. Other cruise lines have it at the buffet for free in garafes. Hot Tea € 3.75 but what about these? Coffee Temptations Marocchino Experience the gentle caress of cocoa powder, the sweet taste of chocolate and hazelnut sauce, and the zing of real espresso coffee: a mouthful of heaven. € 4.00 Mochaccino An exquisite blend of espresso coffee, dark chocolate sauce and whipped cream. € 5.50 Latte Caramella Savour a glass of warm, whipped milk flavoured with coffee and sweet caramel sauce. € 5.50 Frozen Coffee Delights Vanilla-Choc Cappuccino Vanilla-flavoured milkshake with generous load of premium coffee, coated in chocolate sauce and whipped cream... irresistible! € 5.50 Caramel Coffee Frost Strong Italian coffee, cream, caramel sauce and loads of whipped cream... for a pleasant sensation of freshness! € 5.50 Chococcino A concoction of coffee, milk, dark chocolate and whipped cream... a delightful chill with an extra charge of chocolate! € 5.50 Spirit Coffees Irish coffee A coffee delight par excellence: long espresso, Jameson Irish whisky, whipped cream and nutmeg. € 9.00 Baileys coffee Smooth and indulgent: coffee, Baileys Irish Cream, whipped cream and cinnamon. € 9.00 Italian Coffee A true Italian coffee cuddle: espresso, Amaretto Disaronno, Italian brandy and whipped cream. € 9.00 Chocolate Indulgence Classic Chocolate The whole traditional flavour in the most classical chocolate. € 4.00 Coconut Chocolate An exotic taste where the freshness of coconut meets with the best chocolate € 4.00 Hazelnut Chocolate Hazelnut meets chocolate: a taste masterpiece. € 4.00 Orange and Cinnamon Chocolate The energy of orange and the spicy of cinnamon for an astonishing taste. € 4.00 White Chocolate Creamy and rich in milk: it’s the favourite chocolate of the youngest. € 4.00 Rocky Road Chocolate A cup of hot chocolate loaded with marshmallows ... a timeless soothing concoction. € 5.50 QR_S_COFFEE-AND-BAR-LIST-GENERIC_OTHER_DAYX_EN_1694195722.pdf

I never book through a TA.

we did last time, and it still didn't work. it's true, but on a very full cruise I'll have to spend a lot of time standing in line to get that accomplished.

JamieLogical's Live from the MSC Meraviglia 9/24
Itchy&Scratchy replied to JamieLogical's topic in MSC Cruises
lol, good one! Thanks for your review! so, if everybody in the party has a drink package, will they let one person order 2 coffees or 2 drinks at the same time? 2 different drinks? -
I did that during booking, and mine still says "dining time is unassigned". also didn't work for me. I tried to link our reservation with my parents (both are fantastica) and id didn't work online either.

IMHO, Jamaican beaches would not be on my bucket list.
-
lol, this is starting to remind me of a meme that says "at this point I am afraid to ask", but non-YC people still get pool/beach towels for free, right? we don't have to bring our own, right?
-
unfortunately, our kid turned 12 this year and is now considered an adult by RCI, which makes the pricing for a 3-person cabin to be quite unreasonable, especially since we can only cruise during school breaks. Gone are the days when we paid $258 pp for a 7 day cruise on RCI... We enjoyed our last cruise on Oasis very much.

Oasis had a lovely pirate themed parade this spring.

Legal name on cruise reservation
Itchy&Scratchy replied to vacationlover_mn's topic in Royal Caribbean International
my husband managed to purchase our house and open a mortgage with my nickname, which is not very close to my first name.... He knows what my legal name is, so I was perplexed as to why he used my nickname. Thankfully, I am in charge of booking cruises and airline tickets.... -
funny, that's what I have just said about RCI... Not because they've done something wrong, but because their prices are out of control. We thoroughly enjoyed our Enchanted Princess cruise in November 2022 and Oasis of the Seas cruise in April 2023.
