  1. They probably wont change it unless both adults switch since all adults on the same room/reservation must have the same drink package. I don't know about most MSC cruises, but when we took the Seashore in October, soft serve was only available from 3:30-5:00 at a back corner buffet dessert station, and it was available to everyone at no charge. There was scooped ice cream by the jungle pool in the afternoons that I never checked out. I think there was a charge but I'm not sure, or it could have been included with the soda package for minors. And there was Gelato in the shops area for a fee.
  2. I believe it's going to be the items that you can pre-book (and pre-pay) when you go to the MSC site and Manage Booking/Plan My Cruise under the Spa & Beauty option. I imagine the offerings and prices may vary from ship to ship or cruise to cruise somewhat, but these are the options currently showing for my next cruise: Thermal Area Cruise Pass - $130 Traditional Balinese Massage - 50 min $119 Bali Massage with Hot Lava Stones - 50 Min $124 Spa Manicure and Pedicure - $116 Personal Trainer Program - $225 * Thermal Area access for the duration of the cruise * 1 Body Composition Analyser session * 3 Personal trainer sessions - 1 hour each * Personalised consultation with fitness trainers for best results I think you do get other offers and discounts on board based on your Voyager Club level or being in the Yacht Club.
  3. I did see someone getting extension cords from guest services for this purpose on our last cruise. It's a little surprising to me not to have at least one regular outlet and one USB by the bed(s). These posts are helpful because overall it sounds like things are gradually improving on the Seascape vs some of the reviews from the first couple cruises.
  4. My embarkation time changed multiple times in the two weeks before embarkation, with the last one being like 3:00. I just printed the page with the earliest embarkation time (11:00) to bring with me. They never checked when we boarded in Miami. Also, YC has it's own priority boarding. And once inside the terminal, there should be a separate shorter line for Aurea Suite priority boarding, although it may not be labelled and they will try to push you into the general line unless you ask/point out that you are an Aurea Suite. Not sure why they gave us a 3:00 boarding time for Aurea Suite when it's supposed to have priority boarding. We boarded at 11:00 with no problem and got right on the ship.
  5. They won't show the drink package or internet included there. But it does show up on your booking documentation and boarding pass documentation. February 2024 is probably too far out for other items to start showing up, I would check back with less than an year and probably more like 9 months out. I have a March 2024 reservation and nothing shows up for that one online yet either.
  6. Have you created an online account on the MSC site and linked your reservation to it by booking number? Once you do that you can get your passenger information and travel credentials entered and book excursions, spa services, drink packages, and specialty dining packages online. Not sure about the dining time. You may need to call for that.
  7. MSC Special Diets and Menus Gluten-Free Cuisine: MSC Cruises has obtained a certification from Bureau Veritas to provide gluten-free menus (food code <20 ppm*) worldwide in the main restaurants of MSC Grandiosa, MSC Seaside, MSC Seaview, MSC Meraviglia, MSC Preziosa, MSC Divina, MSC Splendida, MSC Fantasia, MSC Magnifica, MSC Poesia, MSC Orchestra and MSC Musica. I take this to mean that the pizza and other food at the buffet would not be gluten free.
  8. The impression I have is that it's almost always the starboard side facing the island. The ship usually comes in early morning with the port side facing the island, then spins around before it docks so that it can head straight back out the way it came when it's time to leave. The deep water channel doesn't continue on past the island, so the ship has to turn around to head back out.
  9. In the US, you can view Building Paradise Island on demand on the free streaming service TUBI. It was produced by National Geographic, but it doesn't currently show up as available content for that channel, at least from the service I have for cable channels.
  10. Yes, it took a few weeks, but we did get a pro-rated refund plus more for the inconvenience. MSC made it right in the end. It was just a very frustrating experience with lots of wasted time and energy. MSC not only needs to fix this upgrade bid process, but they need to work to improve their overall customer service, as well as finding a way to promptly address issues that are impacting a current cruise rather than it taking days - there should have been a quick and easy way to verify and correct this promptly.
  11. A note of caution about the MSC upgrade bid process. We won our bid and were only notified just 3 days before the cruise. It wasn't much of a deal either given the high starting bid required. We never got the promised updated paperwork even though we called and our CC was charged immediately. We were told it would be taken care of at check-in at the port (not true). They knew nothing about it at the port or on the ship. We wasted a lot of time standing in line for customer service on the ship only for them to keep saying that they sent it to corporate for research and then fail to give us any updates. We ended up in the room we originally booked, and it was halfway through the cruise before they confirmed we should have been upgraded and got moved. According the Yacht Club Director he'd never before been told to move someone after boarding occurred even though he admitted this problem had been happening for months. Another Yacht Club cruiser confirmed this situation, and several other people in line with us for customer service immediately after boarding also had similar upgrade problems. Maybe it's finally been addressed in the last 2 months, but just be aware that MSC has had significant issues getting things updated as part of their upgrade bid process. In our case we did get the upgrade for half the cruise and (eventually) a refund as well, so MSC did take care of it in the end.
  12. Coffee, Tea, Iced Tea, Milk, Juice (breakfast only), and ship's water. The juice seemed to vary at the buffet. Usually there were 3 choices. I always saw orange juice, but the others varied, cranberry, apple, pineapple, and some kind of citrus concoction. There may have been others because I didn't have breakfast at the buffet every day.
  13. We have a cruise like this coming up with an overnight at Ocean Cay. Is there anything happening on the island the next morning? Do they serve breakfast or anything? Or is it just a chance for people to hit the beach in the morning before the ship leaves at around noon?
  14. MSC doesn't indicate what brands they use for their well drinks. I tried to ask at a bar and all they would tell me was what was included in my drink package. If a drink is not included in your package, they charge you the full price of the drink (not the difference). Here's the link to the list of beer and liquor included in each drink package, although the Easy package just states "well". Scroll down to the "Winter 2021 - Onwards" list which is the most current version currently available. MSC Drink Package Comparison Chart
  15. Yes, I've seen a couple of posts from the inaugural cruise and from someone who is currently on-board. I know inaugural cruises can have some rough spots since it's a new ship and a crew that is just learning to work together. Just wondering people feel that things a slowly starting to improve and if overall they liked the ship and enjoyed their experience. I know it's still early. I have a cruise booked later in 2023 on Seascape. I didn't specifically pick the Seascape, it just worked out for what I was looking for. And it's a sister ship to the Seashore which we thought was a nice ship. However, I am getting ready to book another cruise for early 2024. For the time and itinerary I was looking at, it is the Seascape again. So I was hoping to get some additional perspectives before I actually booked a second cruise on the Seascape. The plan is to be in the YC, so hoping for that perspective as well. Thanks for any input from those who have been on the initial sailings.
  16. There are several cabanas in a semi-circle or cul-de-sac type area near the YC Ocean House restaurant. That area is surrounded by rocks and does not have a sandy beach. You would have to take a short walk over to the neighboring beach to swim or walk along the beach. I would imagine that all of these cabanas are considered Ocean View as opposed to Ocean Front.
  17. Thanks. The cabin-location worked for me and let me see select the different categories and see the available cabins. I found other pages with missing content and you can use this same type of work-around (hack) to get to some of that content. (For the Seascape, it isn't showing all the different cabin types on the ship information page any more, for example, but when I added /cabin-suites to the URL it brought them up.) MSC really needs to test out their site better and fix all these little annoying issues.
  18. Good, our next cruise is scheduled on the Meraviglia, although I keep hearing about all sorts of issues on the Mera our of Port Canaveral. Especially on the shorter cruises. Then we''re supposed to do the SeaScape out of Miami next fall.
  19. The SeaShore was the warmest ship I've been on. The only place I was able to get cool was in my cabin after I'd been in the room for at least 30 minutes. That was in the YC suite. The aft suite never really did cool down as much as I would have liked, but at least it was cooler than the rest of the ship. Are all MSC ships kept on the warm side? Guess I'll find out over the next year when we cruise again.
  20. You didn't need it, but there were some nice features. I liked it because the app let me keep track of my account easily on a daily basis and ensure there were no unexpected charges, although it was weird how they handled the service change on my sailing. I was also able to view dining room menus for every day, which was nice. You could see the daily activity schedule and shows, but this was updated daily sometime in the morning before most folks got up for the day, so you couldn't see the next day ahead of time. Some folks on other ships/cruises complained that it wasn't kept updated promptly, but we didn't have that issue.
  21. Well the guaranty prices are reasonable, but I wouldn't want an inside, even at that price.
  22. I was looking at multiple cruises in Jan 2024 and that all that was showing up for Yacht Club were guaranty rooms. Is the Yacht Club guaranty room really a thing? I know when something similar happened on NCL for suites/haven a few years back, it was a system error and the booking would end up cancelled after several days. Also, if MSC really does YC guaranty rooms, could you end up with an interior room? Is that what it most likely would be, or would it always be at least a suite with a balcony?
  23. Actually, they have alcoholic ginger beer right by the checkout at my local liquor store. That's why I assumed it was what you meant. I was coming back to ask if you had actually meant the non-alcoholic kind. lol.
  24. Here are the beers they currently list as stocking for Caribbean cruises. That said, when we cruised I did see some liquor stocked that wasn't listed, so it's possible they may have other choices available. Angry Orchard Apple Cider Beck's Blue Moon Bud Light Budweiser Coors Light Corona / Corona Light Dos Equis Draft Beer Guinness Heineken Heineken 0.0 Alcohol-free Michelob Ultra Miller Lite Nastro Azzuro Newcastle Brown Ale Pilsner Urquell Red Stripe Samuel Adams Stella Artois Yuengling Lager MSC Drink Package Comparison Link
  25. I have a Mera YC cruise booked out of Port Canaveral in March. Some of these recent reviews are leaving me a bit nervous. Especially since they really screwed up our first cruise with MSC and wouldn't recognize that we were supposed to be in YC until halfway through the cruise. This cruise next cruise was supposed to be for them to get it right so we could enjoy the YC experience from day 1! Hope we don't have the types of issues you had and that we've been reading about.
