I think having the waiter arrive with a jacket (as happened at our table and it wasn't even Europe) would be worse than getting turned away at the door. Pack the jacket, or take it as carry on over your arm.

I know where you are coming from but there are many healthy choices available on the ship. I usually try to keep to whole grain cereal and a bit of yogurt for breakfast but succumb to the allure of omelettes, bacon, potatoes and a bagel and cream cheese now and then as well. I think it has to do a lot more with self control than a lack of healthy options.
You are so right. But then, I don't have any self control where there is good food around that I don't have to cook! We like to hit the other breakfast too for the cappuccinos and smoothies!

Oh dear. two weeks with no ready brek is a scary thought!! well, I guess I could eat french toast....and strawberries with chcolate sauce...:D
I, too, eat oat bran porridge which I make in the microwave, every morning, and I was wishing I could make it on the ship too because I think it is the breakfasts on the ship that cause my weight gain! Love, love, love the waffles or the English breakfast! You're from England and you don't have sausages, bacon and fried tomatoes for breakfast?:p

We loved #7002 on Summit too.

Are people confusing the Cruise Critic get together with the Captain's welcome aboard party? The latter is in the evening and they serve hors d'oeuvres and wine, juice etc.

You will usually get an invitation to the gathering with time and details on it. As others have said, usually coffee and pastries are offered. Never have seen anything else.

I think the OP wanted his cabin cleaned when he was out of it, even if he was not out that long.
Our experience in cruising (we are Elite too) has been that the room steward seems to know immediately when you leave your cabin and they seem to be invisible, doing their work in your absence. Our cabin has always been cleaned when we get back from breakfast. However, on Equinox in Dec, our cabin was never cleaned until about noon. We did not like that but we said nothing as we realize the room steward can't do everyone's cabin first. They could alternate their schedule though so they don't always leave the same cabin till last.

Great video. Thank you for sharing. I hope our Equinox crossing is not like that for all those who are affected by motion sickness. We are not, thankfully.

Don't try to take food off the ship in NZ or OZ. The dogs are right there sniffing everyone as they stand in a row for inspection. As others have said it is best only to take bottled water which is often available as you leave the ship.

On our last cruise at a table for 10 (early seating) we had a couple who consistently arrived 45 minutes late. Our waiter never said anything to them and worked very hard to catch them up to the course we were on. It made extra work for him and I don't know why they didn't get the picture after the first night. It annoyed the rest of us as it delayed our service and we decided to say something after the fifth night. However, the 6th night was formal and they didn't appear, likely because the gentleman was supplied with a jacket on the first formal night.

Thank you Maddycat. My mistake.

Dosherpack beat me to it. We have seen one of these cabins on a cabin crawl. They are HUGE.
As others have said, buy the pass in Bermuda, as you get off the ship. It can be bought for multiples of days and is good for the ferries and the bus. We took the ferry to Hamilton the first day. If you can get there by noon, there is a public dunking (wench gets dunked for gossiping) and I think your children would enjoy this.
We have never had small children on a cruise, but we have often seen them around the ship and they all appear to be having the time of their lives.

Linda, we asked why they bother with the second card when it says right on your seapass if you're elite or not and we were told this second card was originally meant for the suite people who were included in the perks program.

Thank you for your detailed review of Qsine. We will just have to book a cruise on Eclipse.

DH says that Celebrity has an onboard service compatible with Rogers and we verified that it worked. However, the cost per minute was very high. DH doesn't remember exactly but thinks maybe $4/min. This was on the Millennium going to Alaska last year.

I am enjoying your review and looking forward to more pictures as we would love to do this cruise some day.
