  1. Hmmmmm…. Pappy….must edit videos…. I would take that. If Matt from the other blog can get free cruises as an influencer why can’t I?
  2. Video Time Here's a little diddy to show what a great time we had on the Bella Cruise. Sorry if I couldn't get everyone in. ENJOY!!
  3. This makes me so happy. Love the expression on her beautiful face. I will try it hat thank you.
  4. That looks like what I had too. Maybe not as bad. It was hard to tell because my legs were a little sunburned too. II had bottled water in the cabin which I drank, but probably not near enough. That very well could have contributed. Thanks Marty. I had Plantar Fasciitis before and that's no fun. I hope you feel better. I've always had problems with my feet and ankles swelling on a cruise. I think I need to be more proactive to minimize and prevent.
  5. You did good. I wish I had your metabolism.😉 Should I check with my doctor about the amount to take since my blood pressure medicine has a diuretic in it? Thanks for your valuable advice.
  6. Thanks Jane I will look into those socks. Good idea I will try that tonight. Thanks JC. Yes being healthy now will help. I think my body is not used to eating and drinking that much in one week since I don’t do that at home.
  7. So I met my goal of gaining no more than 10 pounds on this cruise. I think a lot of it is liquid weight because I have already lost 1.5 pounds in a day. I still have huge cankles. I’ve been sleeping at night with my feet elevated and it has helped. I figure a few more days and I should be ok. Going to need to figure out on future cruises what do to prevent this. Either by taking water pills or sitting in a sauna because I’m not willing to give up the good food and drinks. Any ideas on what you guys do or other tips out there?
  8. Thank you Sue! You were a rock star in organizing the slot pull. The next time we cruise together I want to hang with you in the casino and see if your incredible luck could rub off. Thank you so much for being one of our review hosts. Your input was very valuable.
  9. Burial at Sea Many of the Bella cruisers would meet at the Schooner Bar. One of our gang is Marty @nasa1974. (Marty is on the left) One night I noticed Marty was at the bar drinking a bottle of Heineken beer. Standing next to his bottle was a Manhattan cocktail. I asked Marty if he drinks Manhattans and he said no. He told me he got the cocktail in memory of his late wife. Marty shared that Sue would have a Manhattan at least once a cruise to honor Marty’s grandfather who she would share the drink with when they visited. Some nights he would have a glass of wine sitting next to his beer to honor his wife. Marty did this every night. I asked Marty to tell me about his wife. He went on to tell me that his wife had died of cancer in November of 2021 after a long battle. I asked Marty about meeting her. He told me that they had met on a ski trip and fell instantly in love. They started cruising and they met Cruise Critic friends and fellow Bella Cruisers Joe and Amelia @Cruisingpeople. The couples met on a cruise of the Panama Canal and became close friends. They ended up going on 4 cruises together. Marty told me he was going to bury Suzanne’s ashes at sea. He went through all the protocols with Royal and got a biodegradable urn for Sue’s ashes. We had set up a time to meet with the officers and do a ceremony on our last sea day. I asked who was going to attend. He said Joe and Amelia of course since they were good friends. I asked if Linda and I could be there for him and he said yes. On Day 7 at sea we met the Royal officers who took us to a special spot on ship away from people so Marty could have his personal moment. What happened next was a joyful, emotional moment. I asked him if it was alright to document the burial at sea for him and his family to have for a memory. Marty also gave his blessing to have this video published so people can see what a burial at sea is like to honor their loved ones. The staff of Royal was so caring and nice. In the end we all cried and embraced. We then went to the schooner bar for a toast to Sue and to order another glass of wine for her. I think Marty will always cherish this moment. I know I did. Cheers to you Suzanne may you rest in peace.
  10. I am sure there lots of horrible fans for every team. I am sorry some horrible KU fans did that your wife because that is not right. I don't think that all KU fans are like that. I do not respect any fan who is rude, mean or hateful to another teams fans.
  11. Here is how I look at it. I have never hated another team in any sport either because we play them or are a rival. I understand you might love your team, but to hate another college or team is just plain stupid. You may be a very smart man but I don't have a lot of respect for anyone who bashes or hates another team just because of who they are. When my team loses I respect the other team for playing better. It's one thing to have pride and loyalty for your team but to make comments like you did just aren't necessary in my book. Sorry if I offended you but I'm just being honest. I would prefer to not discuss this any further but focus on this great thread of a great cruise where all us had a great time which each other.
  12. Some puppies were glad to see us! Good to be home after a long day of sitting in airports sitting in planes.
  13. I feel bad that I did not see you more often so we could chat. I loved the pictures of your daughter Phoebe. It looks like she had so much fun. I will be putting together a music video when I get home. Would you care if I used some of your pictures? Hope to see you again. Greg
  14. No worries Helen. I really enjoyed spending time with you and Marty. I really enjoyed hearing about your sons who are obviously very talented. Hope to see you again soon on another cruise. All the best wished to you!!!!!
  15. We have learned the key is to get a good porter and tell him if he takes care us we will take care of him. He took us to the front of the taxi line (which might have made a few people unhappy but hey it was him asking people to move out of the way not me) and we got a taxi in about 5 minutes. Taxi fare to the airport was a mere $39 bucks which was a lot better than our last taxi fare for $63. We were one of the last groups debarking which helped too.
  16. John and Ken handled the cruise portion. Andrew and I handled the review and Sue did all the slot pull stuff.
  17. I wish we could have spent more time together. Sorry I missed last night. We will get together again. Thank you for becoming a new close friend.
