  1. I am the same way. Since my whole career was deadline oriented, I always was aware of what time something started and would back time when I needed to leave, drive time, setup and so forth. It drives me nuts when I say to my wonderful wife that we need to leave by a certain time only to have to wait on her to finish getting ready. I now how long it takes to shower, get ready and be dressed. it just takes back timing, it's so simple.
  2. That refers to "white balance." All light has a color temperature. Outside light is around 5600K or 5600 Kelvin (unit of thermodynamic temperature) while inside light is around 3200K. Have you ever seen blue tint video on a news story? It's normally due to the photographer had the wrong color balance.
  3. I love smash burgers but I love mine with grilled onions on it. Get a kitchen mandolin and slice an onion as thin as you get it. Then put onions in a bowl and coat heavily with salt. This will extract the moisture and make the onions very stringy. Let sit for 30 minutes or more and then rinse the onions with water in a colander. After you put the round balls onto the griddle put a good heaping of the onions on top then smash down. You can follow the rest of instructions via the YT video. I love these burgers.
  4. Officially getting closer to our September Symphony when you get the official Royal Up email. I have had no luck in getting any of these so I chose to put the very minimum on a two bedroom grand suite for $2,550. No way we will get it but sometimes you never know. Even though we don't receive any more points than out Balcony it would be nice to have sky class.
  5. It stayed south. It rained a little bit but nothing severe. Cloudy all day yesterday. Hot as you know what today. Supposed to go out on our cousins pontoon boat for annual fireworks display. It's going to a sweat fest. Hope you are having a great day!
  6. i like a good professional display what I don’t like is every pyromaniac in the neighborhood trying trying to blow everything up. We have had problems with some people lighting off M-80s and more. With our hills behind the house it sounds like a bomb and rattles the windows it scares the hell out of the dogs plus they do it after 10 pm which is the legal cutoff. Man that was my drink of choice all through college. So simple and yet so good. Cheers my friend good choice!
  7. Tonight’s cocktail experiment was a Vieux Carre. This cocktail is known as both Vieux Carre and it's translated name Old Square. In the original recipe dates back to 1937, from the Old Quarter, New Orleans 1 ounce rye whiskey 1 ounce cognac 1 ounce sweet vermouth 1/2 ounce Benedictine liqueur (I like Benedictine, so I add 1 OZ) 2 dashes Angostura bitters 2 dashes Peychaud's bitters 1 orange peel, for flaming and garnish Fill an 8- to 10-ounce old-fashioned, or rocks, glass. with ice. Add the rye, cognac, vermouth, Benedictine and both bitters, and stir to mix well. Flame the orange rind and rim the glass before adding as garnish. it’s sweet but extremely good. Give it a try. Cheers! Sea Dog

  9. Glad I could contribute. I really have become a fan. The whole Kraken myth and legend of this sea monster makes it even more interesting. It helps that this dark spiced rum is really good and can really enhance any rum based cocktail. Yes I do remember. It’s a great name. I never knew what a kraken meant till I researched it. I’m on the hunt for some of the collector bottles. This is there ceramic one. And their deep sea edition. https://caskcartel.com/products/the-kraken-black-spiced-deep-sea-bioluminescence-rum-700ml?variant=40854128918666&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google Shopping&gclid=CjwKCAjw2f-VBhAsEiwAO4lNeL4UW5zR58jvEqwNwoQB21jXbaAd1FA7JfWuy_F4gvglFreMXZgXXRoCG_sQAvD_BwE
  10. @dani negreanu I’m so sorry this happened to you. I think they should of done a lot more to make up for the wire in your fish. That can cause serious harm. I think they should have given you a free cruise just so you will not sue them. Completely unacceptable. Sad that you did not get to spend anytime with Captain Kate. I imagine that happens a lot with her. Thanks for sharing your story.
  11. BD in Thailand has some amazing scenery. There was a lot of drama with that crew. Rhylie can't just take an order and shutup. Laura can't just do her job either/ Had Kraken last night in Coco Logo. I am happy that I could turn you on to that great rum. Since you stated that you wanted to start your own You Tube channel for cruising I just wanted to give you some advice coming from a person who has done video production for the last 40 years. Robotic voices are a turn off to viewers. You will get more views if you use your own voice and make it conversational. People want to hear your take on things. Robots are not personal, you can be personal. If you say you don't have the time how do you expect anyone else to take the time to watch your video? I'm not trying to be mean. I'm just trying to help you produce the best video you can for your audience. Totally agree. If I start to watch a video with a computer generated voice I stop watching. I love this series. It's so good. Below Deck 9 seasons Below Deck Med 6 Seasons Below Deck Sailing 3 Seasons Below Deck Down Under 1 Season Below Deck Adventure Season 1 Coming Ashley was a mess. I can understand why she ditched the reunion show even though she signed a contract to appear. She knew she was going to get a lot of grief.
  12. We stayed at the Casa Blanca Hotel and absolutely loved it. It’s quaint, charming and has a lot of character. It’s in old San Juan which is a great area to stay since you can walk to most places. there is so much to do and see. The two forts were so interesting to see. Make sure you eat at Raices and Barrachina for authentic Puerto Rican food and Barrachina is the home of the original Pina colada. You can also go to beaches or get a day pass at a nice beach resort. We had so much fun. Here is the link to my review from last November that features some pictures from our stay in San Juan.
  13. Yes it did work for me. I heard it was all over a 3-way. Kinda made me laugh thinking "How is this going to end up?" If you find out any more info let us know. I love good gossip.
  14. Yikes. That's wild. I just love that cat. Happy that she is getting adjusted and scaling new heights. I need to play around with that auto select. I wonder if the new iPhone 14 will have it? That's what I was thinking you had. Very nice feature. I've heard so many horror stories. I get real nervous about making it back on the ship on time. I was there where other ways to get down from the cliff. I showed Linda the video of Carnival and remarked glad we don't sail on Carnival, Royal is so much more civilized. I guess not. I sure hope they all got booked at the next stop.
