  1. As the number of people who do not have smart phones shrinks then the cruise lines (and other businesses) will likely provide less support for them. Covid restrictions and requirements are decreasing, but likely there will be other restrictions or requirements in the future which will be difficult to do without a smart phone. Seems the sensible thing is to get one and save yourself a lot of hassle.
  2. Hi @Meliss35 No, we haven't done that cruise yet. Reviews for the activity seem to be good.
  3. Princess has the same policy in place. You have to transfer to a travel agent within 60 days of making the booking.
  4. Hi All, Reviving an old thread, but the question is still relevant and I wonder if anyone has a different perspective on using a travel agent now that cruising has resumed?
  5. They must have felt a little silly when the ship left the port!
  6. Thanks, I also found that there is a link on the right side of the screen to edit the basic medallion to re-add the ship's crest artwork.
  7. Hello, I am ordering my Ocean Medallion and wanted to order the ship's crest. I chose the crest and am part way through my order. I then accidently removed the ship's crest from my order form. I don't now see a way to return to the screen where those choices are available. Has anyone had the same issue, or do you know how to return to the "customize" screen? Thanks
  8. You can keep trying both options (app and online) and likely will find that one will work at some point. Fall back plan is just to wait till you get to the pier and do it the old fashioned way.
  9. Part of the frustration is the lack of consistency. On one day a function will work and the next day it will not. Someone suggests a workaround which works for a bit and then does not work. The functions do not seem to be that complex and you would think by this day and age in computer science it would not be that hard to program correctly.
  10. I had the problem that both app and online would not allow me to acknowledge acceptance of the cruise contract. I left it for 24 hours and came back and then it worked. Other companies have apps and websites that seem to work fairly consistently and seamlessly. Not sure why this system seems to have so many problems.
  11. What amazes me is that Princess seems to have been a bit tone deaf on this and not realized that for many the laptop is much easier to use than a phone.
  12. You are most welcome.... Thanks to @JF - retired RRT for pointing this out to me. I'm not sure when this option became available. I seem to remember reading about a year ago that the only option was the Medallion app. Hopefully this was Princess listening to the many of us who prefer to use a laptop to our phones.
  13. It did! Thanks for that. I made a seperate post with the instructions for others to use. Much easier than trying to do this on the phone. I also reloaded the App and checked that the information was reflected on the phone App and it showed there. Thanks again for sharing that... very helpful!
  14. Someone pointed out to me that you can complete the required pre-boarding registration/documentation without having to use the Medallion app on your phone. I'm glad to see this as I started to try and do this on the App but it was very frustrating and I ended up ditching the App and thinking I would just show them the paperwork at the pier. The online version is available at https://oceanready-personalinfo-ui.prod.ocean.com/ I had to scroll down and use my booking number to log in but once there the process was fairly painless. I entered passport information manually and was able to upload a photo for the security picture and a copy of my vaccine card. I really appreciate now having this alternative as the app was a bit of a nightmare. You can't do everything here as dining reservations must be done through the app and I have heard that you really do want to get those, even for the main dining room.
  15. Is your question that you do not see the link on the Princess web page? Did you scroll down on the web page? The link is just above the colored bars which explain the possible boarding lanes (Green, Blue, and Yellow). https://www.princess.com/plan/oceanready
  16. This is really sad! We really enjoyed "Any time" dining in the Main Dining Room and the flexibility of just turning up with perhaps a short wait at one of the bars.
  17. Thanks for that suggestion! I found a link that on this webpage (about 1/2 way down the page in rather small print). https://www.princess.com/plan/oceanready
  18. We are signed up for a cruise in November and decided to get a jump on things by downloading the Medallion app and entering some of the information. We've sailed with Princess before and it recognized us and pre-filled some information such as passports, etc. However, when we tried to accept the passage contract it just went into an endless loop and would not even let us exit the app. Had to reboot the phone. I've been reading some horror stories about people having difficulties with the app and am wondering how bad it is if we just choose to ignore it and turn up at the dock with our usual paperwork (including vaccine certificates) and just show those to shoreside staff and be issued a medallion at that point? If we do that will the boarding process really be extended and might there be any other negative consequences for the rest of our cruise? To put this in perspective, we will be on the Discovery Princess and it will only be for four days. Thanks for your thoughts/experience.
  19. Hi, We will be stopping in Ensenada in November and are looking at options for non-ship provided shore excursions. Has anyone any feedback on ATV Ensenada? - http://www.atvensenada.com/atv-zip-line-combo/ Thinking of doing their ATV and Zip line combo and wondering if they are safe (for both activities)? Our scheduled time in this port is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM so thinklng there is plenty of time. If you have any other suggestions for non-ship excursions I would love to hear those as well. Thanks.
  20. Thanks for that recommendation. We are going to Ensenada this fall and looking for something different from the ship-provided tours, so this seems like a great option. My girlfriend has not driven an ATV before. Is this something that would be safe/suitable for a new rider?
  21. I haven't been in Ensenada for a couple of years but the last time I went ashore there I was really put off by the offers of "massages" (I was a single guy walking around) and people standing outside drug stores offering to sell things I could not buy in the US without a perscription. Good to know that things have improved!
  22. Hello, I am wondering if anyone can tell me how many (if any) USB power outlets there are in a Britannia Club Balcony Cabin? I believe the Britannia and Britannia Club balcony cabins are the same layout, so my question would probably be appropriate for either class? Extra points if you can also tell us how many US, UK, and European (if any) regular (non-USB) outlets there are in that class of cabin. Thanks in advance for any information.
