  1. MDR Michelangelo appeared to be closed. Our cruise is only 3/4 full so not surprised that something would be closed. Lines at Da Vinci MDR appeared long at times.
  2. Just checked. The men's changing room by the Lotus Pool and spa has a sauna and steam room.
  3. We are currently on the Crown and our cabin is being serviced twice daily. On the electronic display you can touch a button to request the room be serviced or another for privacy.
  4. I know this is an older thread, since I started it in 2018. I'm currently on the Crown Princess in a Dolphin deck mid-ships balcony cabin. We can hear MUTS from inside our cabin when the sliding glass door is open and also while on our balcony. Can't make out the words to the movie that is currently being shown but the sound is definitely there. Not a huge impact, but if you wanted a quiet evening on your balcony this would be annoyance.
  5. Quick update..... Picking up the medallion at the pier worked out very well for use. The embarkation process in Vancouver BC was very quick. They verified our identity with our passports and then handed us our medallions.
  6. Nov 7, 2022 We are currently on board Crown Princess. There don't seem to be any vibration issues. We have been eating in the Da Vinci dining room (Deck 6/midships) but have also spent time in the stern area, which has been quite smooth. The crew has been very willing and efficient. The Medallion App continues to have problems. It had difficulty with the time change that we just had and also we have never been able to make dinner reservations either before boarding and also on board. We were also not able to get a boarding time/group out of the app and so just called Princess to get one. Some things that have worked well with the app include: unlocking the cabin door (which is actually helpful when you have two coffees in your hands), and finding your friend(s) on board. The medallion has also worked seamlessly for boarding and disembarkation as well checking in at the restaurants and making on board purchases. One strange feature is that I twice tried to order drinks in the Explorers' Lounge and the system cancelled both my orders. After waiting a considerable amount of time I looked back in the history section for transactions saw the cancelled status. Not sure what the glitch is since my girlfriend was able to order drinks in the same location. If you have any questions please feel to post here.
  7. Speaking of the Captain's Table...... Does anyone know where the table actually is? I also think it is funny that they never actually eat with the Captain. He dispenses a few words of wisdom and then disappears.
  8. Watched a few episodes. It is a reality show, and so of course is not real. I found the hosts to be a bit annoying. What saddens me is that there will be some people who will watch the show and think that what they are seeing is actually what a cruise is like and then will be disappointed when they get on board and experience the reality of cruising, which those of us on CruiseCritic enjoy but which is not what is shown on this TV show.
  9. Are the backs magnetic or do you have to buy a seperate holder?
  10. Thanks..... Good to know. I have kept cruise cards in the past as souvenirs so it is good to know that if I lose the medallion the replacement will still have the souvenir value. Hadn't thought of the issue of having incorrect information (i.e. loyalty level) on there.
  11. Out of curiosity..... If you lose your medallion and go to Passenger Services (or wherever medallions are replaced) can they engrave the replacement with your name and ship like the original or do they just give you a generic one? Or.... do they just give you an old fashioned cruise card? An alternative scenario is that you arrive at your port of embarkation and, for whatever reason, don't have the medallion that was mailed to you. Just curious, and yes.... I know that if you lose it on board they can likely track its location on the ship.
  12. @wowzz In the past getting your cruise card at the pier was the only option. Now, at least for those in the U.S., there are options so asking about which is the better of the provided options is a valid question.
  13. I think that it is one less thing to worry about when you get to the pier. Plus it would be fun to have something physical to help build the excitement for the upcoming cruise. Not to everyone's taste, but I can understand why some might like to receive them in advance.
  14. Thanks for any feedback on this. We are boarding in a few weeks and are interested to hear any updates.
  15. Thanks everyone for the feedback and the information that this will be a quick step.
  16. Hello, We have requested that our medallions not be sent to our home but that they be available for us to pick up at the pier. I assume most people have them sent to their home, but have you seen (or experienced) long lines at the pier for people picking up their medallions? Just planning ahead for our arrival time. Thanks.......
  17. Thanks to @Steelers36 for the information about on board pricing being higher. @Thrak - Our experience on a Holland America Line's ship last summer, where we decided to just share the 1-device-at-a-time plan, was that it took a bit of juggling to have the system acknowledge that we had signed out from one device and that we now wanted to sign in with another. Perhaps Princess has a better system for this?
  18. Hello, Looking at the Medallion App in advance of our upcoming week long cruise I see that wifi for up to four devices is available for $70 for the week and that I can purchase it now. Is it cheaper to purchase in advance of the cruise or might they offer a lower price once on board? Thanks
  19. Hello, Can you advise how the tickets for the shuttles to downtown Victoria work? Do you have to buy them in advance or on board the shuttle? Also, were there taxis waiting at the pier or did you have to call for one? Thanks.
  20. Hello, Is there a place to buy a couple of bottles of wine that is close by (walking distance) of the Pan Pacific Hotel/Canada Place in Vancouver BC? Thanks,
