  1. I am not sure I completely understand the statement. Are you saying that you think Blu is equivalent in quality to Tuscan Grill?
  2. In Cozumel we once booked a ships excursion that drove us around to see some of the sites. It depends on what you want to do. Even if you don't book through the ship have a look at their offerings to see what the various options are.
  3. I have been to Labadee, Royals beach in Haiti. Compared to that the street vendors in Cartegena are a little more aggressive.
  4. We rented from Enterprise and that worked out well for us. The Enterprise location is an easy walk to the port.
  5. Honestly for us we wouldn't mind if they went to once a day room cleaning if they put more money into better food quality. Sailed a Royal TA where they did once a day and it was not a big deal.
  6. I'm asking because this is my round-about way of trying to figure out what Aqua is worth to us on a M class ship. To us the only real benefit of Aqua would be Blu. Also, given the location of Aqua cabins on M class ships they would mostly be worth less to us than regular Veranda cabins. On M class ships Tuscan Grill is, for us, the only specialty restaurant we would dine in so a specialty restaurant package doesn't make sense on a cruise over a few days.. For comparison purposes Tuscan Grill seems to be about $50 per person plus gratuity.
  7. Is 8pm truly safe? I have a flight booked for the day after the cruise however thinking of changing to an 8pm flight the day we get back
  8. In the last year they reduced how much wine you can bring aboard to 1 bottle per person. For a longer cruise I would want a little more wine. The Black Friday sale had a $20 bottle for $32 so not a complete ripoff if they deliver what was ordered.
  9. I have been onboard and wines listed on the menu have not always been available. When you prebuy wine I am not sure what inventory they pull from. For example, do they assume the wine is already onboard or do they specifically load it when the boat docks for the cruise I am on. The cruise is about 2 months away, so I wonder what they do with the wine between now and then.
  10. I ordered some wine on a pre-cruise special. Do they typically deliver what you order or do they substitute what they have on-board?
  11. I completely agree with this statement. Plus I think the balcony is larger. However, those from above can see the end of the balcony.
  12. I generally don't trust Royal's parent company RCI. Given what happened in Australia I would be worried.
  13. I assume it is equipped like a standard OV. More interested in location specific info. Eg., noise, etc.
  14. I have read some of them. Some are a bit old so I discount those. The newer ones didn't exactly answer my questions. That is why I asked it the way I did. Basically, the answer is I will need transportation (eg, taxi or boat) to get to a beach with real sand. Also, the beach clubs you get to by taxi have to be booked All Inclusive or you don't have a real reservation. Finally, it looks like even though it is more travel time, Isla de Pasion better meets my requirements.
  15. It is the famous Celebrity IT department at work AGAIN! Once you get through to the right department they seem to know what to do. Make sure that AFTER they say they have fixed it you have them email you a copy of the invoice and check it BEFORE you get off the phone.
  16. This exact same thing happened to me about a month ago. Got a refund for a cancelled excursion and they said I owed more money for the cruise. Took about an hour on the phone to clear it up.
  17. I would do the one with the bus back since you go further up the route and have a different view back.
  18. We are looking for something relaxing, so it sounds like Isla de Pasion is probably closer to what we want,
  19. I’m ok with a taxi as long as it is easy to get back. Just don’t want to get stranded. It seems like will have to take transportation no matter what. No close beaches. Passion Island is through the cruise line. Trying to understand the differences. To see if one makes more sense for us.
  20. Just looking for a pleasant time on the beach. Any thoughts on which is better?
  21. FYI, you specified automatic. I like automatic watches because they are fully mechanical so I find them of interest. However, for an accessory you should be aware of the following facts: 1) Automatic watches, especially less expensive ones such as Invicta or less expensive Seiko, are not as accurate as quartz analog watches. A $100 Invicta will not be as accurate as a $30 quartz watch. You may have to adjust the time daily. 2) Automatic watches need to be worn at least daily or the mainspring runs out and you have to restart it the next time you use it. 3) The amount of stored power (eg, hours they can be left off the wrist) is usually significantly exaggerated especially for Invicta watches and lower cost Seiko watches and other brands.
  22. Occasionally they cancel Grand Cayman altogether.
  23. I think Invicta watches are OK as an everyday watch. THEY ARE NOT COLLECTOR WATCHES. I do agree that Seiko watches are generally better however, I think they are about twice the price. I once bought an Invicta watch on a ship once because it was one I happened to want. The price was acceptable but not really great. In general prices in the in ship stores are not really any better than the regular prices in land based discount stores.
