  1. I purchased my train tickets on line and printed them at home, so they are just on computer paper. Do these tickets need to be put in those yellow boxes and to be stamped like regular train thickets or can I just bring them on board and show the conductor. I don't want to get a fine. Another question I purchased all 4 tickets together so I assuming that all for tickets are on one ticket each way. There is a sheet of paper I printed out with our names on it and seat location but it is not the train ticket, should I bring this also with me. Sorry for all the train ticket questions I just never used the train system in Italy and don't want to screw it up. Thanks for any help Linda

  2. Hi Wassup4565, I was having a lot of problems with the error code, never could get to a seating chart. I could only get to the point were I could put people's names and email addresses and click unregistered user and click credit card and accept but when I clicked continue I was sent right back to the beginning of the different train schedules. I must have done it 40 times and even tried using Google Chrome and got the same results. So I used the website Host Star suggested, I did have to pay $80 more but at that point I didn't really care I was so frustrated. Had no problem getting the tickets from there and got all our seats together so in the long run I paid more but didn't have any problems so at least it is done and I know we will all be on the same train and sitting with each other. Just to let you know I closed my browser many times and tried over two day but that site just hated me and didn't want me on it, it hurt my feelings LOL

  3. Never sailed RC, we are sailing on the Grandeur of the Sea in May to Bermuda. I started with a regular balcony and got a $650 price reduction do to the BOGOHO sale so I just happened to see for $200 more I could get a JS and still save $450 so I took it, it was an aft 7152. Was checking prices again as I do often and noticed that a corner balcony 7650 became available, called my TA and had her transfer me to that cabin so I am right next door to the two other couples I will be traveling with. Now I know nothing about RC or their rooms as I have always sailed Carnival but I know I loved Carnival's corner wrap balcony. Can someone give me any input on these cabins and did I really get a great cabin or and is it any different from the JS I already had. I will be happy either way as least I will be next to my friends. Thanks for any help Linda

  4. Thank you cruisemom42, the reason I wanted to purchase them on line is because I wanted to have all 4 of us seated together and to have one more thing paid for before I go plus the cheaper seats are being sold out and I didn't want to have to pay for the most expensive ones. But I think the site might be having a glitch as everytime I get to the end of putting in all the info I just takes me back to the beginning and never lets me put in my info for the credit card. Thanks for clearing up the question on registering I was really confused LOL Now a day it doesn't take much to get me to that state. Linda

  5. I am trying to register for the train site and where it asks for the address in Italy, please don't laugh at me but I am not sure what some of the boxes are asking. This is the address of our apartment Largo Pietro di Brazzà, 26 - int. 9, int. 9, Rome I know I have to put in Rome and when it says Via/Piazza I put in Largo but this is where I get confused and I seem to be doing that a lot. There is a box for address do I put in the entire address I posted then there is a box for Civic don't have a clue and also a box for Cap I just don't know what these are anyone got a clue HELP Linda:confused: Sorry forgot to mention after I put in Roma a box for Common and I don't know what that is either

  6. I have been trying to purchase my train tickets from Rome to Naples but am having such a hard time. I put in all the info and when I click continue after I have put in everyones name and email and phone #. Then I click on credit card and I accept the terms then click continue it takes me back to the beginning. It also says that if I purchase as a non user I won't get an invoice, I tried to register but I don't have an address in Italy to give them for sending me a card it won't let me register. If I don't have an invoice how am I going to print out my tickets. I am so confused also it never lets me put in my credit card info as it takes me back to the beginning to purchase tickets. I know this sounds confusing because right now I am very confused. Has anyone used this site to purchase tickets as this is the site I am using http://www.trenitalia.com/ If someone can please help I only have today to do this as my bank opened up my account to purchase these tickets for international purchases and will close it for tomorrow. Thanks Linda:confused:

  7. I have done both and Royal is better. The entertainment, ship decor, and clientele are all way better on Royal. I like the food better on Royal, but Carnival is fine (food is subjective). I would go with Royal over carnival anytime!

It's people with your attitude that make me really not want to take my first RC cruise. From your statement you seem to think that you or people that sail on RC are better or higher in class then those of us that have sailed on Carnival. I hope I don't encounter people like you on my cruise.

  8. I've always just walked to the nearest cab stand or had the apartment owner call for a cab. Based on your question though I went and found:

    https://sites.google.com/site/sctappromeforcruisetravelers/contenuto-della-app/about-rome/using-taxis-in-rome

I found it very informative, and glad I read it as I had never noticed the part about the meter already running for cabs dispatched. It's a miracle I haven't had a "discussion" with a driver about the meter.:p

If you'll scroll thru the article you'll not only find text instructions, but toward the bottom a map of the taxi stands. You didn't say where your apartment was, but besides the approved taxi stands I've normally had no problem getting a taxi at Campo di Fiori and Piazza Navona- the cabs are normally just on the outskirts of the area.

As already mentioned a cab should run around 10 euros so for two cars you're looking at 20 or so.

Thank you so much for the info, I have made a copy and put it in my Rome folder. You have all been very helpful, thank you Linda

  9. Thanks for the reply but I won't be staying at a hotel, I have an apartment so asking the front desk to call a cab won't work for me. Just was wondering if you had to go to a certain location to find a cab as I don't want to be dragging my luggage all over Rome to find one LOL.

  10. There are 4 of us who will be going from Rome apartment to Termini station with luggage and I don't know who to call for transport. We will probably need a van with the 4 of us, I have contacted our tour company but they do no do pick up and transfer within the city. Can someone please give me a name or phone # to call for a pick up to the train station, any advise or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Linda

  11. We twice have stayed at the Hotel Smeraldo right by the Campo di'Fiori in "Old Rome", about a 10-minute lovely stroll to the Pantheon and the Piazza Navona. Also located right by the Largo Argentina bus hub (and tram for Trastevere). Not fancy, but clean rooms and a small elevator and very good breakfast.

We love strolling in this area in the evenings after our long days of sightseeing and there are many very good restaurants in this area as well.

Just booked this hotel for our last night in Rome our 15th wedding anniversary so glad to see nice things about this hotel. We are paying 169 euros a night

  12. I just made a res at this hotel and great location Hotel Smeraldo this hotel is in the Campo de Fori area and not far from Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona area as well as the Pantheon

  13. :confused:I have a question, we are taking the train from Rome to Naples for 4 days so we really don't have a big rush to get to our hotel in Naples would you just take the intercity train instead of taking the Frecciabianca. Is there a difference in seating when buying the super economy from the other types of tickets. I have a fussy traveler going with us so I just want to know what I buying and sitting in. Thanks for any help Linda

  14. I have never heard of them but that doesn't really mean anything. I have always used Romeinlimo and they are fantastic and always answer emails within 24 hours if not sooner. I would email them again and ask some question.

  15. Thanks so much, my date for travel isn't available yet as they are only up to Sept and I am traveling in October and our dates are set as we have hotel res in Naples so I won't be changing them. Linda
