  1. I should have been clearer. The first virtuoso agent was in Melbourne. The second was someone suggested by SS. I’d like a good TA in Sydney so we can talk face to face, rather than have that awkward phone lag while they check on the computer. Shouldn’t post while trying to rush off to work to pay for SS🤣
  2. No, The SS consultant in Sydney said ( i had it in an email) I was fine to book for 2 and could add the third guest up until full payment was due. The caveat was if the ship was at full capacity it would not be possible.
  3. Yeah, I tried a Virtuoso, Suggested by someone on SS, got nothing…. It was a $100,000 trip…. Totally agree on the way to go…. I wish I could find a good TA that does SS in Sydney
  4. Pashmina... Miss Waldo got married in November Your wonderful girls must be so grown now! Apologies to others for being off topic!
  5. When booking for 3 I was told only those suites with a fold down sofa were ok Just looked at Deck plan. Dawn doesn't have a little triangle in any Vista suites. Looks like the first option is deluxe veranda on the plans When we were trying to book our 2020 and not sure if Waldo Jnr was coming they wouldn't let me book a 3 pax room unless I was all in. We went GTY so we could add him later. They were also very clear guest capacity was an issue Stumblefoot. There are a lot of 3 pax rooms on Cloud, I wonder if because most were already booked they were happy. (Gee, that would have been a tight fit... did they roll out during the day?0
  6. Depends on the ship There are suites designated for 3 pax. Fold down sofa bed. Possibly either no 3 on that cruise or that ship…. most likely the cruise though
  7. On my Muse cruise I took great delight when we got a sudden afternoon downpour/thunderstorm I did not feel sorry at all for the person who had reserved their lounger by leaving their iPad on it. No, it wasn’t left behind accidentally. They also left a hat and sunglasses. They reserved the same spot each day, all day.
  8. Not when wearing long pants and long sleeve shirt. I think we've started a new "dress code" convo
  9. Yes, true, but it's not always that warm on deck, in fact I've only had a few cruises where I would have been perspiring on deck. Mostly because I seem to be very good at picking bad weather. As an example, the cruises heading down to Antarctica or Chile around the Cape for the most part will not have warm swimmable weather, people will sit by the pool and read. (Punta Arenas has a max of 17 today) Some of the cruises in Aus NZ with the southern climes will always be that warm.. Christchurch today is 23 max. Thats not sweaty weather. Remember there are spaces on the ship with loungers and an excellent breeze... Each of us are individuals and use the facilities in the way which suit us best FWIW, I tend to swim and hence have a towel and some clothing at the pool. I have gotten up to use the bathroom and left the towel on the lounge only to return and find my spot missing. Such is the life of a solo.....
  10. Why? Do you put a towel on every chair you sit on? People sit on the lounges fully clothed.... hence they dont need a towel
  11. My Son in Law always describes his heritage as half Chilean, half Rapanui (Easter Island). They had the first Rapanui wedding on the island for several hundred years in November. It isn't recognised as official They got married in Australia first
  12. I’m also wondering if it is a location issue in terms of supply. Asia is not a grazing area, meat is often sent in from Australia and after our drought a few years back, prices for meat are eye watering. Think around $60US per kilo for fillet…. Imported that becomes a ridiculous amount. I have asked on previous cruises about particulate things and been told, we can’t stock that in that segment as there is no supply in the area. Rocking back to our first SS cruise and the lobster was literally flown in from Maine to Copenhagen, but in those days, lobster would only be available on formal nights and there was no alternative dining other than La Terraza. I appreciate that SS is not the line it was in 2006, and yes, there are things that RCL have certainly downgraded. However, my big thing is the staff service, which other than an issue of ageism on my last cruise, has always been amazing.
  13. Or that they haven't read the email and logged into change the booking... remember they didn't cancel they just told you of the now charge
  14. They will most likely take AUD in Fiji. You pay a bit more though.
  15. I discussed this elsewhere, there were a lot of us who got the email. Some are approaching their agent to see if it can be given as suggested. No, no one is very happy about it, especially as there is a $299 tour included but waitlisted. I cancelled it and chose the Star Gazing one, cos if I'm going to pay I want to do the best tour. I'm doing the city highlights one now.
  16. Possibly because Vietnam does not have a tipping culture and those people had checked prior. FWIW, a Vietnamese work colleague told me when I was booked on the now cancelled trip to Vietnam. Be very careful about tipping, you may actually offend someone.
  17. The ports they refused entry to in Aus have very active, profitable and clean aquaculture. The area around Adelaide has an huge Oyster industry. In the last 12 months there have been a number of issues with the oyster industry in other states after diseases were introduced into the waterways. We (Us and NZ) have always been very heavy on biosecurity, you just need to watch one of those airport shows on TV. This came into place last year for a while https://www.smartraveller.gov.au/news-and-updates/foot-and-mouth-disease-indonesia Aus rules came in in June 22. This is the first cruise ship in our waters that was refused. There was a very detailed study that shows 90% of our marine pests had arrived on international ship hulls.
