  1. I believe if you buy it before you arrive on the ship you save 10 or 15% versus buying it onboard
  2. As I eat tacos pretty much weekly here in San Diego, I can surely say that putting slop, unseasoned meat in a soft taco does not make it good, or a real taco.
  3. I am a Guys fanboy. But truth be told, after sailing on Radiance last month, I think I ate more Shaq chicken sandwiches than anything else.
  4. From what I am reading, not allowed for only those destinations. If unvaxed and doing a 4 day cruise, (wiht no port restrictions) self test is fine. Am I not reading that correctly?
  5. ????? So your review is, you're going to stick with NCL? lol
  6. You will probably go up into the Adriatic. Those are where my favorite ports are. Dubrovnik. Be sure to take the tram to the top where the famous battle was fought. Zadar. Beautiful old city with lots of Roman influences. Dive into the sea while you're there!
  7. Port thing, not a fun ship thing.
  8. I am not a big wine connoisseur. Is it a good wine that they were giving folks?
  9. I understand the cost cutting and the cost of labor, goods etc being what it is. I guess I would rather see a good(ish) 24hr food venue on Carnival ala O'Sheehans versus the celebrity deals with the likes of Fiere, Shaq and Emril. Granted those deals may not even cover the costs of such a service but celebrity "stuff" doesn't really move my needle much.
  10. I believe I was watching a cruise vlogger and there was a cruise line, can't remember if it was on Celebrity's new ships or Virgin Voyages that have paid-for reserved seating on the pool deck.
  11. On the west coast on Miracle and Radiance I had zero problems getting paper menus at the MDR or for bfast and sea day brunch.
  12. Agreed, after twenty or so cruises on Carnival, I tried the deli for the first time last month. It was good and will definitely return. But I do think the "optics" of the sandwiches stacked up is not good. I wish they could come up with a better system.
  13. So real question as I was talking to some friends who liked doing the door hangers for room service breakfast. I watched the vlogger La Vida Loca the other day and he pretty much had the same questions.... Has it been clarified if... Will guests need to get up at 5am to order their room service in order to receive it at say, 6am? Or can guests put in their order the night before? Regards. PCLL
  14. Where's whats-her-name with the "Carnival is just following in the footsteps of the other lines" drivel.
  15. This thread is hilarious. I love it when the elitists and the "I'm too good for that" comes out in these threads. Be sure to skip the "adult game night" on Radiance if you are easily offended. It was a great time but I am sure your delicate sensitivities will find it abhorrent.
  16. On Radiance last month we never waited more than 5 minutes for a pizza. They were doing it right with about 5-6 people (total) working dough, toppings\cooking and serving stations. I don't know about the new Carnival ships but on the older ships, the pizza kitchen looks terribly small. I am having a hard time believing they will, in the same cooking area, be able to offer more food selections. I dunno, maybe they will just bring in trays from the buffet area. Who knows.
  17. Didn't a cruise line say they were going to do this a few years back and did test it out?
  18. Agreed, I am not going to bash Carnival for cutting back on steaks when the price of beef is through the fricking roof. I don't go on Carnival to have a prime grade AA cut of steak at the sea day buffet. At pig and anchor, I ask the guy to pile some more brisket and sausage on my plate and he was more than happy. My drinks are still strong and plenty of other food options. I am not going to lose any sleep over the steak at the sea day brunch. My cruise will not be ruined because of it.
  19. As a sometime competitor, this is a bummer. I enjoyed it. I also liked belly flop and sexy legs as well. I guess we'll have to make do with cornhole.
  20. The 24hr pizza thing doesn't really bug me. I think the latest we've been was about 2am. As long as they have enough staff to keep cranking out the dough.
  21. HVAC systems rely on being a closed system. Doors constantly opening can create positive and negative air pressure which adversely effects cooling. Try running your ac with all your doors open and see how well it works.
