I would love to know what finance guy approved this purchase.  Sorry but I find it hard to believe that they would even sell 1 in a year.  What a waste of sitting inventory.

CC has challenges this evening... duplicate posting.

My apologies, cheer and bon voayge

    One of a few duplicates...

Sorry and thank you for your indulgence, in this case...

This is great fun, of course, but welcome to the world of highly allocated luxury products.

You want to go on the waiting list for a GT3 RS? How many 911's have you bought from us in the last decade?

You want a stainless steel Daytona? How much have you spent on jewelry? How many gold and diamond Datejusts have you bought?

You'd like a bottle of 25 year old Pappy Van Winkle? (Actually I don't know how you get on that list...)

The interesting (unanswerable) question here is if there's a reverse allocation at work. Did buying the 2015 at $40,000 or so give you access to the other wines at a mere $6K (probably less than $2K wholesale)? And it's for show for their wine awards. Because actually opening an 8 year old Grand Cru Bordeaux (which this would be if he'd used the traditional grapes of Bordeaux) would be criminal! It probably needs at least 12 more years to think about peaking.

Don't think of it as inventory; it's marketing and advertising...

me - think that if one of us wants something on the $100k level, we would bring at least, if not four (4) bottles aboard with us and the rest would be history AND the word be out and about our wine(s) brought aboard and not purchase...

The Sommeliers would be very smitten, especially if they were included in the tasting!!!

My only reference point for this is, on one sailing I brought several bottles of a limited edition Paso Robles red blend.. presented it to the Sommelier and requested that it be opened to breath for at least four (4) hours and chilled...

I also said, please sample it before the decanting and we all would taste it afterwards....

Talking about being a rock star... I got whatever wine I wanted in all dining facilities after that... well, with the exception of wines which were priced beyond $150/bottle. They knew...

    Yet, cheers and bon voyage

p.s. I do intend to bring two (2) similar bottles on our next sailing in 45 days!!!

    Holy Cow-- It's a misprint --

When someone was typing up the menus they got all mixed up and wrote $ 100,000 instead of $ 100 and nobody proof-read it prior to sending for print.

I'll bet, at every table someone asks the Sommelier :

" How many of the $100K bottles of wine have you sold " ?

LOL--the answer --- " On the last cruise we sold 3 , but none on this cruise so far ".

Who's going to spend that kind of money on a bottle of wine ?

( It's ok, I get it--- It's none of my business how anyone spends their money )

I doubt Ralph Kramden , winner of the " Safest Bus Driver " award would have spent that much on a bottle of wine or even stayed in a suite.

pb I keep waiting to be on the same sailing for such great hospitality on your part... LOL

Please do not forget me when you are ready to splurge!!!

    Cheers and bon voyage

Good idea, but no. I can’t imagine booking one of those enormous suites unless I had a much larger travel budget, and I intended to host a wild party😈 In that eventually you - of course - shall receive an invitation😎

sr - I will make sure that I Am available for that party and likewise, I trust were I to book an IS you would be available for mine, likewise...

I always provide at least a six (6) week advance notice...

If you could afford a $100K bottle of wine, why would you be sailing on a Celebrity cruise? Slumming?

Because you can and possibly X offers amenities at such a level which is passable for its' price point...

Besides, one could have it served in their suite....

    Cheers and bon voyage

The same gaszjust happened to me. I booked our first cruise with Celebrity yesterday and paid in full. Today, "My Account" online shows an outstanding balance of £244. I've spent hours trying to work out what it relates to until I found this thread. My heart has sank! 😒

b67 let your heart and spirits rise!!!

It most likely is an IT issue and will get sorted once you speak with someone at X or your TA wherever you booked the sailing.

Once you get on-board you will look back and laugh and start the enjoyment of your holiday, for sure!!!

I have my 1st Celebrity cruise coming up in September. One of the main. reasons I booked Celebrity, was because No Smoking in the ship, especially the casinos. Now I'm reading that they are going to allow smoking? Designating half the casino smoking and half non smoking, just doesn't cut it. When does this policy start?

Please tell us where you have read that 'smoking' is being permitted in any part of the casino????

That would be news to the members of this forum, for sure!!!

We really would like to know this 'factual' information, ASAP...

Maybe you should buy some rubber dog poop and vomit and leave them on the chair... LOL

ji - you always offer up some wonderful ideas!!!

Methinks that might get me dis-embarked at the next port after being quarantined with guards at my cabin door!!!

Which is contrary to their statement that at least used to be in the daily that unattended items would be removed after 30 minutes. I'd have that daily and show it to them. If there was still pushback, I'd find a stripe and take it up a level.

Hopefully, I will not have to use my stripes when on the same sailing soon...

With a group of 13 most like to be at the pool (not me though) but have no issues hanging out at the pool for 35 minutes before moving things... of course asking pool staff where I could place them, especially if they are not.

    bon voyage

I don't see passengers on Celebrity wearing shorts in the MDR but one poster insists that since they saw passengers on Royal Caribbean wearing shorts in the MDR at dinner that Celebrity would be almost the same. Then they posted they will do a survey. I have cruised many times on both Celebrity and Royal Caribbean and know they are not almost the same. I don't need a survey to know that the dress in the MDR is different on the two lines and that passengers are generally not wearing shorts in the MDR on Celebrity.

c4 hopefully they will not have a full compliment of lights, cameras and director chairs making a film to support the desire... LOL
