I thought MSC disabled ability to open ur cabin with the cruise card and only allow the tracker band to open the cabin?  Is that not true?

Just got off Meraviglia also. You can open your cabin door with either your room card or your NSA/CIA/FBI tracker bracelet

Thanks. May I ask where this info can be found?  I haven't seen any updates on MSC's site. Also not sure what the point is of having a negative test when you'll still need to be tested at the pier... but I still would rather that than on the ship.

This is the letter that was given to guests on the Meraviglia on January 2nd. The highlighted section states the new protocol for testing at the pier. Seems odd for me, also and confusing. I do know that unvacinated guests need to take a test at the pier during embarkation. The info can be found on the MSC for Me App under Check in Info and then Getting on Board, #4 states about the new Health Screening protocols.

  3. That's odd but typical with MSC website. I just cancelled and rebooked on The Seashore this morning. Was booked On June 18, 2022 in a YIN. Was looking to see Yacht Club available rooms and the price dropped in half from what I originally paid 2 months ago while on Meraviglia at the Future Cruise Desk. YIN did show up on the website that sailing date. BTW, I kept my $200 OBC and the double points that was offered on the ship. Did have to pay a $50 change fee....I'll take it...lol

  4. Only live an hour away so we decided on Monday to take a short trip to the port and check out the ship and the entrance and parking situation (never sailed out of Term 10). Got there around 2 pm. WOW! They lines to get into the terminal were massive. There was even a line at The Yacht Club tent. It is a holiday (New Years Eve) sailing so that has something to do with it. Also, I talked to one of the parking lot attendants and he said that the terminal side staff was very shorthanded, about half the normal staff. Some other groups on other social media said it took, on avg., about 2 - 3 hours to get on the ship. The early groups got on alot quicker, 45 min to an hour. We know someone on the ship now doing a B2B2B and he inquired about the size of our sailing on Jan. 9th and was told about 1000 people booked. The sailing that left on Monday had around 3000 booked. Decided after seeing the ship to do a short A1A crawl of some of our favorite beach bars. All very crowded with tourists enjoying the 80 degree temps...lol

  5. 16 days out from sailing. Still won't save passport info or city info. Called MSC and got a knowledgeable rep on the other end (finally..lol). She just manually entered all the missing info from her end and emailed me my travel docs. Easy peezy and I'm good to go. Still shows the needed info on the website as not complete but she said I am good, I have my ticket and boarding pass. Even shows all my correct $$$ for my OBC.

  6. Going to post this link again for anyone interested and sailing from Port Canaveral. It's the Orange County Florida testing site in Orlando. It's open 7 days a week from 9-4. You do NOT have to be a resident to go here but you do have to register online. Very efficient and quick for the Antigen test. Got there about 8:45 and there were about 50 cars ahead of us. They opened at 9am and only took about 15 minutes to get to the 4 tents they had set up. You never get out of your car. Had the results sent to our phones 20 minutes later. Here is the link.

  7. Same issues here with the Passport info and credit card. Sailing on Meraviglia January 9th. I was told pretty much the same thing. Working on the issue. Put your CC info in at one of the Kiosks on the ship. Was also told to wait until inside the 20 day mark, call and the rep will enter in all missing passport info and then email all cruise docs. At least they are giving us a consistent answer. My friend that is traveling with me in another cabin already got her docs at 30 days out. Both of us are in Yacht Club so it seems to be random.

If you are firm on wanting that specific stateroom, you should call ASAP with your original reservation number and the date that it was created.

As someone who is rather particular about their stateroom, I make sure that I keep what I book (not easily done with MSC).

On the phone with a rep that knew her stuff this morning. I had originally booked the June 18, 2022 sailing, Seashore, on their website. Sailed on the Meraviglia on Oct, 2nd 2021. Saw at the Future Cruise desk that they were offering $200 OBC and double points for future sailings. Had to book the Seashore cruise again with her and then when I got home cancel the original booking that I made online, she couldn't do it on the ship. So, I had to make another $199 deposit with her. When I got home I cancelled the original booking. The deposit for that one would have to be refunded. That rep said I have to call back in about 2 weeks to get that refund, too busy he said. Sooo, I called back on December 1st to get the refund, they couldn't give me OBC or deduct from the Seashore sailing, the rep issued the refund on the cancelled sailing, will get that in about 30-60 days. All good.......NOT!!!....He issued the refund on the newly booked sailing that I made on the ship, not the already canceled sailing I made online.. That's why my booking disappeared. I had all my information and booking numbers for the Rep this morning and with the help of some back office folks she got it straightened out. As of now I'm in a handicapped cabin #18028. I might keep that one if it's not needed for a handicapped cruiser. So, that's what happened....Another day in paradise..lol

  9. OK, here we go. It's the June 18, 2022 sailing. Just went online to check that the sailing date is still available. It is, and my Yacht Club Interior, 19019, is available to book. My Meraviglia booking for January 9, 2022 is still there but is now telling me my information is not complete. Last week everything was fine.

  10. I know that the awesome (tongue in cheek) MSC website isn't the most reliable but has anyone had their future sailing just disappear? I know this happened recently when Meraviglia had an itinerary change and cabins went to Guarantee status.  But mine only disappeared for about 12 hrs. My Seashore sailing in June 2022 has been gone for about 3 days. Waited to post to see if it would magically reappear but as of now no such luck. I'll give them a call later. Sometimes I wonder if MSC does this on purpose just to give us something to talk about on these boards...lol

I'll be sailing Meraviglia for the first time soon and I am curious as to how many people will be on the ship. Crowds don't really bother me but 1K people on a ship meant for over 4K people sounds great!

I expect Seashore to be more crowded when I sail that ship during the summer but looking at that booking, there are still plenty of staterooms available there, too.

    Thanks for the review. 👍

We sailed on her in October and there was about 1200 people onboard, Yacht Club was at 80% capacity. The YC Top Sail Lounge and Dining Room had a busy feel all cruise. The rest of the ship, to us, just seemed odd. Walking down the Galleria with more staff than passengers was weird. The only area of the ship, outside the YC, that had a fun vibe was by the main pool at night. Not having a full ship, at first, seemed great, however as the cruise went on it felt like something was missing. We'll be sailing on her again in January and on Seashore in June.

So, to keep on topic, MSC has finally indicated a specific drinks package for YC guests.   They’re introducing new packages from here, on, and the highest one, Premium Extra, will be included in YC bookings.  This will cover drinks up to €13/$15.

Nice to know that the YC will have the Premium Extra. No need to budget for an upgrade.

Some of the YCs have Veuve 🙂

Upgraded to Premium Plus and drank about 5 bottles of Veuve Clicquot on Meraviglia in October in Yacht Club. Had it at the Champagne Bar also.

So, at that stage you had an opportunity to close a deal by saying something like....OK, can we agree the mid-point at $775....that's how deals often complete, you've potentially missed a second opportunity to get the cabin at a price which (presumably) was acceptable given your original bid was close to that at $720.

    🙄

I'm sorry. I did not give all the details. I did counter my counter with a $750 offer. They still declined. And yes, those 3 cabins remained empty the entire sailing.

  15. Had an upgrade bid from a YC Interior to a YC Deluxe Suite. Placed the minimum bid , total of $720. Got the email at 4am the day of embarkation that my bid was not accepted. Get on the ship later that day and find out from our Butler that 3 YC Deluxe Suites on our deck ( deck 14) were empty. Went to the YC Concierge to inquire about upgrading and they would for $1050. I countered with $500. They said no. Hmm, 3 empty cabins and I'm offering you $500 for 1 of them. Is it me or is that just a bad business decision?
