  1. I did HoHo in Malaga, but stayed on for first half or so - then we were stuck in incredible traffic, so I got off and toured around the area for a while and my bus route/company never returned. Eventually got on another bus and when we were passing the port area I decided to go back to ship. So I chose wrong company or routing - still enjoyed the beautiful city. Thanks for the super pictures from the Fort and the Museum. Looking forward to the "flamingo" show - you had me going! Yes, I'm getting old - but. this just came to mind..... Is the song Malaguena about Malaga? Cruise On!
  2. Last time I was in Barcelona (after TA on NCL Epic), I watched a few buses checking route numbers and memorizing the stop which was about two blocks from hotel. Got on about 5pm and made the loop - had to pay low fare again twice. Finally ended up in a great seat across from driver, she and I exchanged hard candies during the three hour ride - back at the first stop around 8pm on a beautiful spring evening. Stopped in Farmacia on way to hotel to grab some plane snacks for oh-dark-thirty flight back to Reno. Did HoHo on a previous trip - amazing city. I'm packed and ready to board - I wish! 😎
  3. I was gonna guess the dog's name was Jack Elam - sounds like a good day!
  4. fair-winds-39 ---- Love your name - my 2nd cruise was on SITMAR Fairwind in 1975 from FL to St Thomas, Nassau and San Juan (1st one was it's twin FAIRSEA in 1974 to PV, MZT and point out Cabo). Those were the days! Yes - Intrepid is set for an adventure.
  5. Wow - sounds wonderful - think I'll follow along!
  6. Have been to GT a few times - one of my favorite souvenirs from first visit: My Lost Shaker of Salt saltshakers ($8 each back then) even saying Gran Turk - I brought back some for me and my sisters and niece. I use it every day. Yes - water shoes = Good! I always imagine trying to signal the BIG SHIP while treading water..........Old Woman Overboard. Wish I was there right now - 36 degrees shooting all the way up to 39 today. 😎
  7. It was enjoyable, informative, complete, and honest - my first time to join your adventure. As I said before, Stay Real and Cruise On!
  8. Inquiring minds..... our group of 20 had a Tampa cruise with overnight in Havana canceled just a few months before departure a few years back - Dang! Had 5 Classic Convertibles booked for the day and some were going to the Tropicana show, etc. What are the thoughts, now, on future stops in Cuba?
  9. Sid - I dropped out for a few days and came to PVR to leave the snow - just finished your LIVE now. Thanks for the honesty and openess sharing this adventure - keep telling it like it is and stay real - gawd, I love to travel!
  10. Oh, yes - wandering the streets of Old San Juan - I, too, thought it looked like an old European city (1975 on Sitmar Fairwind and had not been to Europe at that time) and it still does. I have stayed pre-cruise at Hotel Milano - we did El Convento for dinner one night. Always wonder why I have never just come to Puerto Rico for vacation? Love the streets and alleys, the wrought iron gates and balconies, the fort on Sunday with kites flying, the colorful art and flowers and the sail away....... Thanks for bringing back those great memories - Sail On, Sid!
  11. Same thing on my May 3rd Alaska on Spirit (changed from Freedom - long story) - I didn't ask, but figured it was covid cabins past the door. Spirit arrived in Seattle after Panama Canal from Miami with multiple cases reported on all news stations: "over 200 sick people", "even the ship's doctor", and so on and so on. I went anyway. BTW - I am booked on that same PC cruise for next April, we'll see,
  12. My favorite souvenir is a Bermuda Triangle keychain - one day stop on April 2018 TA on NCL Epic - a gift to myself for birthday - thank you, thank you very much.
  13. Oh. I'm so jealous - I've never "been" to New York City -- changed planes there a few times and two overnights from a charter flight to Spain. Timing and travel group made it not doable to get into town on that trip - dang. To be 25 (at least!) years younger and able to keep up with you - then actually cruise out of NY - OMG! You are appreciated.
  14. koko - thanks for the great message - I'm still searching and considering.
  15. I have not used a scooter before - but, walking long distances and standing have become an issue. Coming up on Final for Dec cruise on Sunshine from Charleston and will be traveling alone. Alaska last May was a challenge for me and I'm debating if I can still cruise in this day of bigger and more ships. Not sure I can see myself using a scooter - have always thought I can do anything. Feedback?
  16. Hang in there - Tracy Arm will be so worth it! I was just on Spirit May 3-10 (had been four years since last cruise - NCL Epic TA) and it was the highlight - OK, it was my 3rd Alaska cruise, but, still.... Yes to all the confusing things with time, documents, weather, waves, wi-fi connections, and so on and so on.... Keep the honest and real-time reports coming, please. North to Alaska............
