  1. I'm stickin with Cloud 17, looked much quieter and more adult like than the Hideaway and nobody blocking your view at the glass! No kids either. Just like I suspected, kids are elsewhere.
  2. Back in the day on Splendor of the Seas, we hit a squall and captain asked lunchers to sit on the port side only in the MDR, I kid you not. Deck doors were locked until further notice...lots of Henrys were mighty busy that night in the halls, closet I've ever come to getting sick, but it was exciting. Ships are designed to take 12% heels I believe the Chief once said. I have sailed a 27' Catalina sail boat standing straight up on the gunnels, we had a swing keel but she kept upright no problem. I highly suspect the heel was not 18*, it just feels like it. That's almost on her side!
  3. Wonder if our cruise is too far out for an offer, I'd consider changing if the deal was good enough, maybe do Harmony and a 7 day instead of our 5 day.
  4. We cruise her March 23rd hope she's in better shape then...saw the You Tube vid...Wow! We are in ADA interior cabin, should be fine.
  5. Me too! Loved the Viking Crown, such a good view from there. We met Chris several cruises ago, great guy. Would love to pick his brain about the Casino program. We don't gamble much, I'm such a chicken, last bandit I played I stopped at $57 winnings! But may be willing to learn to secure points for a free cruise! Hubs split a pot of Texas Hold 'em once. I watch the Traveling Gamblers!
  6. For years I have complained about the chairs on all the ships, hate those little wicker chairs they used for the promenade, so painful! Does ANYBODY ever sit in them before they buy a thousand of them??? But even the slatted benches in Aqua Dome look extremely uncomfortable!
  7. I just saw a YouTube of Hideaway yesterday with tons of peeps in the pool in front of those expensive beds...who'd want one if there are lots of peeps in your view, not me. They may have to rethink that.
  8. I think it's right behind Starbucks next to the pearl, out of the way, but I've wondered about the liability, someone could trip over it, there should be a barrier like the pole the brass dog is peeing on, something tall so you can't miss it.
  9. We're looking at Canoe truck..for me a car is nothing but a way to get from point A to point B economically. I'm no tree hugger, just fiscally responsible...LOL
  10. We went camping in Colorado every summer for as long as I can remember...in a beat up old station wagon, that's all Dad could afford...and we had the times of our lives! I look back and as a kid it never occured to me I'd be flying in a jet 2 or 3 times a year and cruising all over the world! Only rich people did that! LOL And we are debt free Ocean Boy!
  11. I've been pricing every ship for our 30 anniversary year (2026) including Star and other lines including Carnival Jubilee and Sun Princess and every Celebrity Edge ship including the new Xcel and it looks like cruise fares will never be the same again after the scourge that was Covid. Not many ships are much cheaper than any others, though ICON is just outa site...glad we booked when we did last yr. We'd have to get on older than O class to get any real inexpensive cruises...those days have come and gone my friends to quote a favorite movie. So we'll just buckle up and save more coinage and take 2 years to pay it off. One thing I know for sure after this weeks vids, we will want to do ICON again.
  12. I think it's like It's A Wonderful Life. I've watched that every year for about 60....and Oz for maybe 40 yrs and I'm 73, I can't wait to see Oz. Neither of those would ever bore me, just put me back in my glorious childhood days and let me sing all the songs right along! The puppet dog kinda bothers me, I wish they'd used a real puppet on wire from above instead of the guy scurrying around, or maybe just keep Toto in the basket throughout...but ya can't have everything. I am not a Mama Mia fan, I watched it the first time and left in 20 minutes, watched the second time all the way through, that's enough for me. Not a Cats fan either, but love real cats!...but it takes all kinds to make an interesting world, no problemo.
  13. This slides vid is awesome. At the 2:00 mark it shows the steps up to the top which are more steps than stairs so I may be capable to go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um3ssjj_7Ok
  14. I'll try to get you a review of our room then....It's right back of the elevator bank..just steps away. It was the cheapest ADA I could get at the time, but it looks like a pretty good location now, we go up or down to nearly anything but the pools and I can walk that short a distance with patience. Also, I saw a video on the slides today and it showed the steps leading up to the top, they are surprisingly not steep at all so I think I'll be able to do some of those too. Woohoo. If anybody wants to see it at the 2:00 mark it shows the steps, more steps than stairs...like it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um3ssjj_7Ok
  15. For me and me only mind you! A waste of time and certainly of money...maybe if it were free like the zip line but no way $$.
  16. My first stop in food is going to be Aquadome Market for some Chinese at GNGR! I am so excited about it.
  17. I would love an ADA Interior, we have 10428 right at the elevators on deck 10,. wondering just how big it is.
  18. I am amazed at how massive the elevator bays are, the circular area is humongous!
  19. I am interested in seeing all the various pools up close and personal, the Cove, Cloud 17 and Hideaway in particular. Thanks for your time and including us, can't wait!
