  1. Yep, those easy ones lull you into a false sense of security.
  2. My husband would love this, but I'm not sure I'm going to tell him. But maybe I will. It could be better than his other alternatives...
  3. Thanks. I didn't know that would be on the app until a few posts later. Our cruise is over a year out.
  4. We've encountered this on a few cruise lines. But a fan circulating air is always helpful, too, IMO.
  5. This was my question, too. I keep a folder of all correspondence about each vacation (cruise or not) and keep it until well after the trip is over.
  6. I used those patches on our first 2 cruises, but the side effects were awful. I started taking meclizine/Bonine. I would take it each evening as I got ready for dinner since they speed the ship up then to make good time. I've never had issues with that. But our last 3 cruises, I didn't take anything, but I did take them with me in case. I know one cruise, we hit rough enough seas that stewards were putting out barf bags (never a good thing to see), so I hopped my happy butt back to the cabin and took another one! I could feel the movement but never got sick. One thing I will say is that hydration is very important! Alcohol is the opposite of that. I learned this because altitude sickness is very similar for me but if I can hydrate properly before getting to certain altitudes (obviously, flying doesn't count - at least not for me), the sickness isn't as bad.
  7. Yeah, and prime rib night isn't a night I would want to miss. We were friends with several NCL HDs, so I would just email one of them (sometimes the one who would be on our sailing) and they would send entire menus labeled with which day they would be so we'd know which night or nights to book in a specialty. That was quite handy. There used to be a search function you could use on here and I can't seem to find it. Looking both on computer or phone. Is it gone or would someone show me where it is?
  8. Is there a place where I can find menus for specialties and DMRs? And on an 8 night cruise, are the 2 or 3 chic nights? I searched the X site and didn't find answers to either.
  9. Oh good lord! I had forgotten about this being an X option. My DH is obsessed with glass blowing. So much so that we paid for him to have lessons from a local glass blower. I don't know if he'll want to do it on the ship or not but I will mention it. I love the options of what can be made!
  10. If it's at disembarkation, isn't that usually for things purchased while sailing (either on ship or off) that you can't take to your cabin, like alcohol or perhaps a knife? Sometimes for things confiscated at boarding to be returned? That's kinda normal - or so it used to be.
  11. Yes, we've used other cards as well, which is how I found out that our cabin wasn't being serviced because they thought we were in there. Of course, this wasn't on X.
  12. Thanks. This gives me hope. But I think it sometimes depends on the embarkation port, and sometimes even the personnel working there.
  13. That's great to hear and gives me a little hope. Which embarkation port(s)? Did you put it in carry on or was it packed? Not booked yet, but either Sept or Oct of 2023.
  14. No, I still got to "tour" those areas! They took it away before I even got on the ship!
  15. Thanks. I'm more of a visual person, especially since there's different terminology used for the exact same things. There's usually only one of us at a time out on the balcony and there's only 2 of us this time, the size isn't as important. And that part I could see on the X website. And honestly, I'm just happy with a regular sized balcony! Our first 10 cruises (or so) were all in inside cabins and I was fine with it because I was on a ship.
  16. My fans present no risk and I have no problem with them checking it and returning it so I can use it.
  17. I will probably complete the form and fill in my own stuff, email them AND take one of my own fans. I like to cover my bases!
  18. Thanks. That would be great! The link above doesn't have a place for this. It covers lots of other things though.
  19. I haven''t been on X in 15 years, but I have been on other ships that did need a card for it to keep the room as cool as we set it. Thus the question.
  20. I don't think you understood the question. There are some that used to be called hull balconies but I think they may be called something else. But they are pretty enclosed - which is what I don't want.
  21. Do you have the email address for the special needs department?
  22. AK is definitely not a sure thing to be cool though!
  23. I will be on Equinox and if it's that hot at night, I will NEVER SLEEP!
  24. Would you believe on our last AK cruise, it was 92 in SE AK and because of 23 hours of daylight, it really felt warmer than that - and no AC in AK! When we spent time in Denali, it was crazy to be white water rafting at 9pm.
