I would be VERY interested to hear from long time crew members (Room steward and Dining staff) on whether they were better off then or now .

It is not between RCI and the employee... they are handing it out like candy at guest services And the fact that they do so most certainly does change your assertion that it is an internal document

Just curious , why the difference for you with room steward VS dining staff ...first day/last day ?

Read the 'literature' handed from guest services that the OP started this thread with .... Does that not imply a singular person ?? At the very least they can get their story straight

?????? see above post So taking my above post with another breakdown, based on RCI's own numbers , I am not sure if SCAM is the proper word , but at the very least it certainly is shady !! To be clear , I have never and for the foreseeable future will not remove grats because regardless of how it breaks down and what the real truth is ,I know if I do , it will impact the hardworking people on these ships greatly. Whether that is supposed to be my responsibility or not , for know i make it that way. I believe sooner than later RCI and other lines will move to an all in pricing system and Grats will go back to the old way of handing to those you choose to reward. Cheers

As a precursor ...I agree completely , However , keep in mind 2 things 1) It is not the Maitre that is denying you , He is simply an employee doing as his employer has instructed and 2) As much as it may not sit well with us , RCL does have the right to make up and enforce whatever rules they choose , and for now it is the new reality. Depending on how much blowback from this and any other new policies they put in place , It will either be here to stay or it will revert back. It is up to each of us to choose where and how to spend our cruise dollars . Voicing our displeasure in post cruise surveys , clearly our greatest power in these cases. JMO Cheers

just a thought Pay the balance before you incur the interest < and when they do credit you back (and they will) you'll have a bonus credit towards next months payment , and with a hair of patience , problem solved. End result ...,for taking a wild shot at gaining access to a package that we all knew was too good to be true , you end up with a bonus 50$ to buy a couple drinks or spend however else you wish ! ...Amazes me that everything is always half empty to so many on here .
