  3. Here's an idea I haven't seen anyone throw out yet ... You stated you are a group of 24 . If everyone in your group formed your own type of insurance pool of sorts , you could all chip in $100 bucks to your friends to help recoup !! I feel this type of option is always overlooked when people just look for and expect someone else to 'help' . I'm only on page 2 of this thread so apologies if someone has thrown this out there

  8. ?????? see above post So taking my above post with another breakdown, based on RCI's own numbers , I am not sure if SCAM is the proper word , but at the very least it certainly is shady !! To be clear , I have never and for the foreseeable future will not remove grats because regardless of how it breaks down and what the real truth is ,I know if I do , it will impact the hardworking people on these ships greatly. Whether that is supposed to be my responsibility or not , for know i make it that way. I believe sooner than later RCI and other lines will move to an all in pricing system and Grats will go back to the old way of handing to those you choose to reward. Cheers
  9. Please note this says stateroom attendant , not stateroom services . That certainly implies that the entire 3.55 is going to 1 person As similar math above has pointed out 3.55 x 2pp x 23 rooms x 7 days ... $1143.10 + salary + cash tips.........???

  11. carry ons ! Only way I will travel for the forseeable future . DW and I did Back to back 7 followed by 8 day with 2 extra days on each end in October , and managed nicely

As a precursor ...I agree completely , However , keep in mind 2 things 1) It is not the Maitre that is denying you , He is simply an employee doing as his employer has instructed and 2) As much as it may not sit well with us , RCL does have the right to make up and enforce whatever rules they choose , and for now it is the new reality. Depending on how much blowback from this and any other new policies they put in place , It will either be here to stay or it will revert back. It is up to each of us to choose where and how to spend our cruise dollars . Voicing our displeasure in post cruise surveys , clearly our greatest power in these cases. JMO Cheers
