Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I have already chimed in on this but just getting back off the Bliss last week I also added 1 not mentioned and its another one of those that if you use them then its your choice. I tipped the sommelier $50.00 as we used him 4 nights for bottles of wine and had him choose 2 of the bottles.
  2. We were just on the Bliss a day in front of you and were not able to dock at Juneau as the winds were to high. I enjoy Juneau and would have like to have seen the Mendenhall Glacier as well as its always fun to stop at the Red Dog Saloon. The weather was nice after the first couple of windy days.
  3. I would defiantly upgrade to the Haven. Now this is my personal opinion as we just got of the Bliss last Saturday and styed in the Haven. Alaska was beautiful as it was our second trip there and both on the Bliss. The staff was fabulous, the bartenders were on top of their game as well as the restaurant staff. Our butler took good care of us and was always around if needed. The Haven restaurant is such a nice feature, we do order of the menu for a few items as it is the same menu all week.
  4. You are going to get many answers to that question as everyone has their own way of going about it. It really sort of depends on how much you use them to me. I have tipped my butler anywhere from $100-$200 for a seven day cruise and the concierge I have done from $0 (we never used him or talked to him) - $75.00 ( he got us show seats and a few dinners as well as taking us off the ship) . Its up to you but they do work hard and for the most part do a great job. We also tip our room steward $50.00 as he did a great job
  5. I am pretty sure I am in the haven as I got priority luggage tags, I spoke with the haven concierge two weeks ago and got dinner reservation along with iced tea in the refer and peanut m&ms as well as changing some beddings. My room number is within the haven as I had the same room last year when we did the Bliss to Alaska.
  6. Yes we are both in the haven and both booked about 6 months ago.
  7. We both booked within a couple of days, we booked 6 months ago.
  8. We are leaving on the Bliss on Saturday and our Parents are joining us, we have the exact same room on the same floor 2 doors apart. I was going over things with my mother and showing her different things on the website, we were looking at service charge line and hers is $25.00 per day while mine is $20.00 per day. The only difference is she opted out of the drink package as they do not drink. Does anyone know why these service charges would be different? We are staying in a haven room as they are.
  9. Hope the OP is ok as we have not heard anything for days, heard if was rough the first night is about all from the cruise. We are getting on the Bliss on Saturday and our weather is looking very good for the last Alaska cruise for the season. The last month plus is seems as every cruise has been fighting rough seas and rain.
  10. Will the dallies change beings this is an Alaska cruise and I am guessing the November 4th cruise is a Mexican Riviera Cruise?
  11. Pretty sure on the plus package that you can not get a bottle. Now I think you get a couple of bottle in your room if you have an owners suite. We buy a few bottles on the ship that are usually duty free and take them home. Some bottle are a great deal compared to home where we our state controls the price of alcohol and screws us.
  12. That's a change as we had it in the haven last August (2022). Hmmmm I will have to look into that. Thank you for the heads up.
  13. WOW! I just read through this entire thread and an amazed that this poster has not gotten it yet after so many people explaining it perfectly. We always get the +P package as she likes Vevue and we enjoy letting the bartenders in the haven make us new drinks to try as they have full range of any liquors they have. If you enjoy top shelf liquors then its well worth the price. Yes I could easily find something to drink on the regular menu that I like but I am on vacation and going to enjoy the entire experience. Oh and but the way my bar bill at the each cruise is $0.00 and we drink everything we want, we leave at the end of October for Alaska on the Bliss and will put the bartenders to the test again.
  14. Looking at the MSC cruises they seem very reasonable compared to the Haven. That might be our next cruise after Alaska on the Bliss in October. We love all types of food so the food choice look very good and she loves to dress up so thats not an issue as I dont care one way or the other. Glad the OP posted this as we have been looking at the Panama Canal as our next trip, it might need to wait now.
