  1. This fight didn't happen, no mention of it on Twitter and no one has posted any credible info from any other source. If there really was a brawl there would have been some reporting of it on some media platform. My guess is that someone on may have confused the fight from February on the Legend as something that was recent.

  2. I could see the Yeti being an issue since it looks just like a cooler with straps added. The backpack cooler RTIC makes looks more like a backpack and could easily slip by. Not trying to push one brand or another, but there are many other brands that make cooler backpacks you could look into, but the Yeti one just screams cooler.

  3. Carnival Horizon

Cigarette smoking (including electronic cigarettes and personal vaporizers) are permitted in the following areas:

    • Horizon Casino: Smoking is permitted while playing at designated slot machines and table games.
    • Horizon Bar: Smoking is permitted in designated area.
    • Outdoors: Smoking is permitted in designated areas on Deck 5 (starboard side, forward) and Deck 11 (starboard side, aft and starboard side, forward-above the Resort Pool).
    • Note: Cigar and tobacco pipes are only permitted in the above designated outdoor smoking areas on Deck 5 (starboard side, forward) and Deck 11 (starboard side, aft).

  4. Thanks for the suggestions. I just want to have a comfortable seats that will really recline and foot rests. Either premium economy, business, or first class. I am going on a cruise and would like to keep the air under $500.00. I might be dreaming.

Definitely not going find a flight to Europe for that price right now with those amenities. A year or two ago flights to Europe were dirt cheap when there was a terrorist attack every few months, things have quieted down over there so flight prices have crept up.

  5. Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I think I'm still going to tip generously at the beginning of the cruise. To clarify I am not talking about handing the room steward or bartender money at first interaction, I am referring to leaving a nice tip after the first day of drinking or an envelope with cash for the steward after the first time the room is cleaned. If it works that's great, if not whatever I can just adjust tips accordingly throughout the cruise.

  6. For longer cruises they will deliver it to your cabin now (I think it's cruises longer than 5 days).

This is correct, 5 days or less you have to go pick it up, longer than 5 days they deliver it to your room the last evening.

  7. Agreed. This poster is so hateful and over the top about many things. And always trying to correct somebody. His rants about John Heald are very weird in my opinion. I've blocked OC for these very reasons. I only see his posts when someone else captures them in a quoted reply.

Btw, I can take or leave John Heald. But I see him as a public figure. Nothing more.

Maybe we need to have a separate JH thread, possibly with a poll, maybe he'll reference it in his rant videos.

  8. When I check the balance' date=' it says invalid card number. But, when I put in an old completely used card number, it says a balance of $0.00. So, it would seem the card was never activated.

Person I called at Carnival says I called the wrong Carnival number. Anyone know what number/extension at Carnival I need to call?

Edited to add: got the number[/quote']

You should contact the seller directly through the eBay website, not calling.

  9. I can understand not appreciating JH's brand of admittedly low-brow humor, but this is a bit extreme.

I'd say what he said is mostly accurate. As someone who is new to Carnival having him represent the company is a turn off, he is a bad face for the company. Carnival. It is obvious that he caters to the older crowd and has an issue with TMI on his FB videos, often talking about his bodily functions.

  10. Can we bring a case of water on board?

Not if it is in bottles, I suppose if you had cans or cartons of water (12 pack max) it would be ok. The price Carnival charges for water is not bad, its more than on land, but not outrageous. Wine is pretty much the only bottle beverage you can bring on board, 1 bottle per person.

  11. The Cheers discussion was hijacking the original intent of the thread.

I disagree. While comparing the prices at a concert or sporting event to cruise prices might be extreme, the comparison of normal bar prices on land to cruises is a valid topic in a thread titled "I'm not going to complain about drink prices anymore". In many parts of the country going out to drink can be very expensive and people might complain about bar prices, the prices on cruises might be a welcome sight since they are a pretty good deal to those people.

  12. STOP!

Alright I'm nipping this in the bud before this thread spirals out of control over the merits or otherwise of the Cheers! program. Original post was an exclamation on the cruise ship drink prices vs. those found at a music festival. If you all want to discuss whether or not Cheers is worth it, please do it on another board.

I definitely think Cheers is worth it, Carnival drink prices are pretty good if you compare them to most bars and restaurants.

  13. For all of the "renewable energy" fanatics out there, I have a question. Why aren't any of these cruise ships solar powered, or at least a hybrid? The sun is plentiful on most cruises. Is Facebook lying to me how awesome it is?

There really isn't much space on ships to put them and it just wouldn't be worth the investment. Take a look at an aerial view of a cruise ship, most of the exposed space is taken up by pools, decks and other passenger areas, leaving minimal room for panels.
