No interest in this ship. Maybe if it comes to the good old USA.

Thanks to HistoryGirl4Ever for the heads up on this thread! We will probably be booking the Feb 23 sailing.

We did a side-to-side once between Rhapsody and Brilliance. Went to the aquarium (between terminals 2 and 3) on changeover day, they store luggage for free.
That sounds like fun!

Thank you! Maybe do a B2B on Rhapsody. 🙂 Same itinerary, though.

We are thinking about booking Rhapsody, out of Tampa, for next February. It is only a 7 day cruise. I checked, and Brilliance has a 5 day cruise, also out of Tampa, that disembarks the same day that Rhapsody sails. I am trying to find out how far apart the ships might be, but can't find a terminal map anywhere. Are they a comfortable walking distance, with luggage aprt?

There's very little mingling in the RC sponsored M&M anyhow. We prefer the informal meets at one of the bars on day 1 right before muster.
I agree with this. Much less formal.

since they always do it on day 2 by 11am
You hit the nail right on the head there. It is always around that time and it is usually inconvenient for us. Have it in the afternoon at a bar and we can buy our own drinks. Of all the one I have attended, the Captain and crew have shown up only a couple times and that was years ago. At most we get 2 or three crew sign up. Also, it seems that only about 1/2 of the people that sign up for the MM actually show up.

Personally, I like the idea of someone on the roll call setting up the time and place. It has been a long time since I have been to one that had meaningful staff input.

If you have pictures of the menus in the MDR can you please post? Also, what's open for lunch on embarkation day (free dining)?
If you do a search for October, 2018 Snowbird Cruise, there is a thread that has really nice MDR menus on it.

Thanks for checking. Maybe just list the public bars? Looking at the deck plans, it is hard to tell.
-
Does this list look complete?
Adventure Restaurants and Bars Deck Restaurant Bar 4 Boleros Aquarium Bar Chops Grill Casino Bar Schooner Bar 5 Imperial Lounge? The Duck&Dog Pub Café Promenade Champaigne Bar Izumi 11 Giovanni's Table Solarium Bar Windjammer Pool Bar Island Grill Bar 12 Johnny Rockets Sky Bar 14 Blue Moon Diamond Club Viking Crown Lounge -

Does the Solarium serve food?
-
Thank you! I don't care for them, but DW does.
I have been carefully looking through the Cruise Compass' and cannot see a list of the bars anywhere. I know Gravity Sports Bar isn't there anymore, because it is now an Izumi. No big deal.

Are there 3 formal nights on this cruise?

The hours that the bars are open are listed in the Cruise Compass. I will be posting those after I get back home. Check back here next week.
Thanks, I will check again. Maybe I missed it.

We will be on the Snowbird Repositioning cruise in October, also. Looking at a Cruise Compass from last October, I cannot find anywhere that they list the bars and when they are open. The deck plans help. Do you have a list?
Enjoy your cruise!

As others have said, terrific pictures, twangster! Narrative too. MDR menu looks pretty good.

Prepay your gratuities and that means an 18% tip is already there. There is nothing wrong with someone not paying more. We like to tip more where we feel the extra is warranted. I agree, we would never tip the assistant the same as the main waiter. What anyone else tips is nobody else's business.
-
All aboard time is when the ship tells you it is. Do not miss it.
-
Adventure is a really nice ship and there should be lots for the kids to do. If money is an issue, I would choose Adventure. Even if it isn't an issue, I would choose Adventure. They will have a great time either way!

I guess I'm a cheapie, I usually do $20 for the wait staff. And if i really enjoyed them i take picture of our table placard. And make sure to mention them very positively in my survey.
Not cheap. That is what we do a lot of time.

please remember your room steward in your extra tips.
Room steward gets the most in extra tips if he/she is really good. 🙂

Good question! Hope someone has a definitive answer, although I like the Windjammer coffee, so it isn't a big deal. Adventure of the Seas too, since that is our next cruise.
