  1. There is an online site that gives pros and cons of every cabin on every ship .In order to use the site you need to give a valid e-mail address.

Not sure if I am allowed to post the name of the site but you can google it.

So Lenny, if you were curious about this topic, but weren't sure what to ask for, what would you Google? :) Cruise mapper sounded promising.

  2. Today was Halifax. We took the Halifax Titanic Historical Tour with Paul. Best tour ever. His “side” job is limo driving (and has a pretty well known clientele) but he prefers doing these tours and showing off his city. If you want a Halifax tour, this is a must. Pics later tonight. But had to rave about the awesomeness of this tour

This looks really good. How much was it and how many in the coach?

  3. Its Rock Music so a range of years from 60's to 90's and there is a daily Karaoke which from memory was usually quite late 1045/11ish and unfortunately whilst I love Karaoke too I was usually on my way to bed

Too late for us too. We like to relax in our cabin by then.

  4. We were on the Breakaway that first season and really loved Fat Cats.

I would hope that since they are sailing out of New Orleans this next season they might have some great jazz musicians from there somewhere on the ship. We have cruised from NOLA at least once a year for the last few years.

I recall that our first cruise out of NOLA some years ago had some great 'local' entertainment. I haven't noticed any Jazz musicians onboard the last couple of years:(

This is a really good point. Sailing from NOLA, I wonder if they will have Blues somewhere on the ship.

  5. I remember karaoke, so looked at my most recent Dailies (early March on BA). Day 1 had Adult Karaoke Madness in Fat Cats at 11:15 pm. (And Family Karaoke there at 7 pm)

There was "Adult Karaoke Blast" in Fat Cats at 11:15 pm on Day 2.

Day 3 had Bandaoke at 7 pm by the pool and Family Karaoke in Fat Cats at 8.

Looks like there's something almost every night. :D

Fat cats is now Syd Norman's, I hear, doing mostly 60s/70s music. I am hoping they still will have karaoke there.

  6. unless you need the space why have it moved period? We never have had them remove whatever is in the mini bar. We rarely use the fridge for much. We have never been charged for anything in the fridge like some have. I have heard before that on rare occasions people have been changed for items they did not use. I guess if we did ask to have the fridge empties my personality is such I would not pay much attention to where they stored the contents, nor would I care.

You kind of answered your own question. You don't need to empty your frig because you seldom use it. Others do use it a lot. I always like to have beer in there.

  7. Reserved 5 tours in all ports. SPB will not to commit to Catherine's Palace (saying the lines are too long in Sept.??) Most desired tour for us. Also, on first day they say that if the disembarkation process goes such that we could be delayed up to 2 hours, they simply start the tour when ready and STILL end at appointed time. There reasoning is they have evening tours. This means that up to two and possibly more hours could be lost. There cavalier attitude is that 'oh well.we were ready to leave, you weren't. Any comments/input/suggestions on this?

We had no problems with SPB tours when we were in St. Petersberg.

  8. is it normal or unavoidable to have those little bottles shoved under the bed?

On our first cruise last year, that's where he stowed the contents of the fridge, something we didn't realize until we started using our bags for laundry. It seems like a bad idea, but we had a lot of trouble with poor service from him, so I’m wondering whether that particular thing was the norm. I'd rather have the mini bottles out of our way, but if under the bed is where they must go, okay.

A very first-world problem, yes, but I’d hate to end up paying for something that breaks because I can't see where they are.

We have never, ever had them put it under the bed. Usually we find a spot we aren't using and put the contents there. Sometimes we ask them to remove it.

  9. The newest Ocean Blue is on the Bliss.

Per the post above, Ocean Blue on the Bliss does not have any king crab legs. This was a new menu which is reportedly going to go fleetwide at some point. Bliss Menu: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/show...&postcount=110

Ocean Blue on the Breakaway had crab legs https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=53196425&postcount=60

Bayamo on the Escape (which took on an Ocean Blue-like menu when they parted ways with Iron Chef Jose Garcis) still had crab in April. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=55848918&postcount=63

Remember the good old days when you used to be able to get crab legs at Cagneys?

  10. If you're referring to an unplugged European adapter, then it's likely the steward unplugged it so he could use the outlet, and then neglected to plug your item back in. The vacuum cleaners have a European plug.

I use an extension cord, with a Euro adapter, for my CPAP machine, and it is often I climb under the covers, switch on the machine, and---nothing. It's been unplugged.

I was referring to the 120v, but you are probably right about why it was unplugged. I never thought of that. :)

That must be frustrating, at times, with the CPAP machine. I sure don't envy you there.
