I would advise, be careful to not tip more than you can reasonably afford. If $50 is within your budget, go ahead. If you just add 2% to their daily prepaid gratuity, that brings it up to 20%. So how much does 2% per person per day add up to.

We just got back from 10 day NCL Breakaway cruise, so now can concentrate on the AOS Snowbirds cruise in October. AOS was also the first RCI ship we sailed. Sounds like you are having a blast!

Not sure, because we printed our edocs a couple weeks before the cruise. It woud be a pretty lousy app if you couldn't use that, but better to check further.

Try changing your party size.
Worked for us.
We will adjust the party size when we get on the ship.
We are only 2 to start with. 🙂 Seems like a good number for Valentine's Day.

Well we had reservations. Yes it’s pretty small but probably only 1/3 of the tables were occupied. I don’t know why you couldn’t get reservations for Valentines Day. Try online now and if not available then try when you get onboard. Good luck!
Already tried online. All of the Specialty restaurants are booked. Someone said only 30% are offered for online booking. Those crab legs were only appetizers? Any entr'es with them?

At Harvest Caye yesterday I did not have phone service (I have Verizon) this morning in Costa Maya I do $5. for calls, text and data.
Last night we are at Ocean Blue, very good. 1 appetizer, 1 entree, 2 sides and a dessert. My husband ordered the shrimp appitizer at Cagney it was only 3 shrimp but at Ocean Blue there were 6. I had the king crab appitizer both were very good. We were able to sit outside, the sunset was beautiful, tried to get a picture but didn't turn out very good. We will probably go back there a 2nd night. Later we went to Howl and the Moon, very talented, we enjoyed it a lot.
The Ocean Blue looks fairly small. Are reservations required? The chances of getting them for Valentine's Day is probably zero-none?

Thanks CardsFan for taking time out to answer so quickly, enjoy your cruise.
As someone who has Tom T. Hall's, I Like Beer, for a ringtone, just want to say, I like your ID. You are probably even familiar with Cliff Clavin's Buffalo Beer Theory. 🙂

I think we are going to really like O'Sheehan's! 🙂 Have you tried it for breakfast, yet

Looks like I missed the posts about the price. Is the messaging real time or delayed? Also, does anyone know if walkie talkies work on the ship?

I have not been posting nearly as much with the new format. Maybe I don't have the settings right, but whatever happened to the drop down for subscribed threads? When I go to a roll call, I have to scroll all the way down and click on last page to get most current posts.

Are you going to Belize City or Harvest Caye. Most NCL stops are at Harvest Caye.
We are going to both. Not stopping in Roatan this time. I pulled up an ariel view.

That's it! Except the only list the approved shops. Thanks!

Specifically, does anyone have a copy of the cruise port in Belize that comes in the cruise dailies? It would have a key should what all the stores, etc. are. There are maps online but they don't list what the buildings are.
Thanks!

We haven't been to Belize in almost 6 years. The Sandpiper bar was right at the end of the pier. Just wondering if it is still there as we are going again in February.

packercrusing - Not worried about anyone seeing me as If someone wants to look at an old lady having an adult beverage or reading on the balcony they must really be bored. LOL
Plus, you can see them, so cocktails on the balcony can be pretty interesting. 🙂

We are port so no wind blowing my adult beverage off of the balcony. 🙂
Forward or aft. Wouldn't port side forward be just as windy as starboard side forward? What discourages us from the angled balcony is that everyone has a good view of it.

How does the SDP credit work at the Raw Bar? Is anything considered an entree? Or can you get as much of whatever you want?
I give up. What is a SDP card?

My daughter has requested a trip to Alaska for her 21st birthday next year, and I thought a cruise would be the best way to experience it. (My husband and I will be taking our first cruise in January, so no cruise experience yet.) Both lines have itineraries that I think we would enjoy, so I'm trying to figure out which would be best, considering her age. I understand that HA tends to have older cruisers, but I don't know if that would bother her. She is going to be most interested in the sights of Alaska.
I would really appreciate any thoughts/advice on which might be better for our circumstance. It would be she and I on the cruise.
Thanks!
We have done both. We liked HAL better than Princess, but Princess is nice and would probably have more activities. If the itineraries are basically the same, she will see fantastic sights regardless of the ship.

Following as we are doing this cruise next year. Thanks for the updates!

Tipping wait staff extra - how much?
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
I tend to think of wait staff the same way. When we tip extra, we don't get caught up in how much. Do I think $50 is too much? Yes, but who is to say without knowing more? The whole point is to acknowledge service above and beyond what is required. Our last two cruises, on HAL and NCL, didn't have wait staff that was worth any extra. We barely found a bartender to tip extra. Looking forward to that changing on our next cruise, which is RCI.
