That is good to hear as we will be on a B2B and change from D to D+ at the end of the first leg.

We just had the same experience.  Reached 175 points on the last day of the first leg.   Spoke with the Loyalty Ambassador on the first leg and she instructed us to see her on the first day of second leg.  We did that and she updated our status on the computer and sent us to guest services to get new cards.  Very easy.   Several other folks were doing the same thing.

Yeah, it has been less than a week so I guess I need to wait a few more days, my only concern is that we are on the Navigator in 17 days and would really like to have my emerald status in place before then

If the points are not in place by the time you board, the Loyalty Ambassador can get it corrected for you.

We are booked on a trans-pacfic, is it the same as the trans-atlantic?

We have done several TA's but only one TP and it was 2 years ago.  If I recall correctly there was more warm weather on the TP and more sea days.  When we did the TP it was sold as one cruise from Sidney to Seattle.  Now they break it up into two segments, Australia to Hawaii and then Hawaii to the West Coast.  In our notes there is no mention of rough seas or bad weather other than one foggy day.  We have missed ports or gone through rough seas on several TA cruises.

Have done both but it depends on the lounge. On Oasis there is a dedicated server later in the evening and multiple ones earlier in the evening. So it depends on the logistics ... though I had to be careful since I tipped one server $5 after the fist round and he decided to serve the DW champagne in a wine glass and kept topping it off for her ... she had a GREAT time but I had to babysit her the rest of the night ... LOL!!!!

LOL!  I also have had unsolicited drinks served.

Only $100 pp is actually non refundable. If you should cancel the remainder would be on a FCC that has to be applied to a cruise within a year.

it depends on each individuals situation as whether it’s worth it. The difference between refundable and non refundable in many cases is around $100.

Booking  2 years out...a lot more things can happen than if you’re booking closer to the sail date.

Can the FCC be applied to a cruise that is already booked, or does it have to be a new booking?

Always book now on a refundable rate.  If the price goes down you can cancel and rebook on board though most likely the price will go up more than the small amount of OBC you get for booking on board.

Is it really in your favor to pay the increased cost for a refundable rate?  We cruise frequently and never have had to cancel.  If we had paid for a refundable rate for all those cruises we would be out a lot of money.

What is the amount that you lose if you cancel a nonrefundable cruise.  Can't some of your deposit be moved to a future cruise?

We started a tradition years ago, where we pick up a magnet on each new stop, on all vacations. They are inexpensive and always bring a happy memory when I see them. However, I agree that your pictures make a great souvenirs! Just enjoy yourself and try not to stress on your vacation. Best wishes~

This is basically what we do also.  The magnets are usually about +/- $3.  Other inexpensive options are shot glasses and coasters.  My wife feels that we need to have something, but frankly, I never even look at the hundreds of pictures we take.

As I stated, I did not read all 26 pages.  The only info I really read was the beginning.  True, it’s border patrol, immigration, etc but it still took place on a Royal ship. I just made a general statement folks.  Back to your regularly scheduled program. 🙂

It may have been a general statement, but it was made in a very specific context 🙂 .

That would make for a more enjoyable vacation.  Particularly without CNN, MSNBC and FOX.

That may be true, but it is easier to ignore the TV than it is to find a news program that is not available.  🙂

We have done a TA   in November during US elections and were happy to get some information on how they were going.

  10. Packing some food is a great way to save money, but adds work to you.  It if the budget is tight bring the food.  If you are tight, loosen up and enjoy life.

We always try to arrive a couple of days early just in case there are troubles on the way

Is your spouse licensed in all the states you will travel through?   I also am licensed for my home state, and some states recognise  that license, but not all.  I think it is a bad idea to leave a weapon in your car.

Everyone bring too much luggage and not enough money.   We always travel with just carry on.
