They have a lot in common!  They're both very enjoyable.  There is a lot of drinking.  They sometimes bring together people who drink and know things.😎  Those who don't drink and know things probably won't be happy here.

I know a bit, but have to make do with edibles only where they are legit

Oh, goodie. You'll likely be impressed that I've been cooking on an induction cooktop for probably ten years. And WA State is banning gas stoves in new or remodeled homes. Our daughter switched to induction cooktop when she got rid of the gas. Ah well, back to travel.

Leaving in Summer. Anyone shopping for a small home in Olympia, with a gas furnace, gas stove and gas hot water heater, slightly obstructed view of Rainier? Heck, I'll even leave the gas powered mower, but using it may cost you jail time in the future 😆

Ok…gonna chime in.  I grew up in the 70s with the greats like Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, YES, The Who, Queen, Johnny and Edgar Winter, Deep Purple, late Beatles, Wings, Elton John, The Steve Miller Band…and more and more.  The early 80s had many greats, as well. But, I can pour a glass of wine and twirl around the room to tunes sung by Sinatra and Tony Bennett and feel like this was my generation.  And…put this on the turntable, and I become an elementary school girl peeking out my bedroom door to the party where the women drank whiskey sours.  That artist is:: Marty Robbins, Gunfighter Ballards. Ok, now you know I’m old…😂

Big iron on his hip.  Sadly, prohibited item. Great songs

  4. My hearings not so great (thanks uncle Sam) and I often hear songs differently. Sooo I always thought Mandy was regret for family issues "I sent you away old man" glad it wasn't an unbridgeable family dispute. Cause I suspect that singer wasn't much into girls anyway.

Same with me. When I find an itinerary at a price point I'm comfortable with we book it. Call it a hobby I suppose, but I enjoy pricing out trips to see that we still have the best deal. When the price drops or a better promotion comes out, I can simply call them up and switch over (before final payment). If the price rises, I know I locked in at the lower rate and get to proclaim "look how much I saved us by booking early". 9 times out of 10 the price climbs egregiously higher than what I booked, then after final payment if there are still comparable cabins left it will plummet. In our case if we book a Haven room, there's usually none left by that point so nothing to compare to and get a price adjustment on.

Our next trip is February this month leaving out of Orlando. We looked into going down there 2-3 days early as we've never been to Universal before. Both Universal and Disney were charging over $100/day for park tickets. So either we're out of touch with the new reality, or since our last visit to Disney was for 5+ days we didn't notice the pinch of the tickets. Only if you commit to 5 or more days does the park ticket price per day become 'reasonable'. For us to get a basic hotel not even walking distance to Universal and only 2 days of park tickets it would have been over 1K.

So yeah.... opted for a basic hotel walking distance to Disney Springs area and will go down there one day early instead of 3, and just catch a Cirque show and dinner with friends.  So yeah, not just cruising prices.

Orlando will be so close for us next year
