  1. Right. But not everyone in your situation would/could have the freedom made the same decision.
  2. Yea. I get it. It's a business and they have to make money. My issue is targeting pregnant patients. It is morally bankrupt to screw over pregnant pax by making them buy things that they don't want or need or can't use. The average cruising age is already like 197. These policies are designed to squeeze money out of ppl <55 yo, yet cruise lines wonder why they have difficulties drawing a younger crowd. It's not like hoards of pregnant women are boarding CCL. They won't lose that much money by making exceptions for a few pregnant patients here and there.
  3. awesome. I will check out both on my next cruise.
  4. I like dressing up to take pics. I am getting older and want to document my youth while I still can. lol But I agree with the declining food/service on CCL.
  5. Agreed. You're hitting it on the head. CCL and all these cruise lines jack up the price on everything onboard bc they can. We all are a captive audience. The break even point is 5 drinks per day only bc CCL is charging so much for ea drink. It's all made up. I get it. It's a business.
  6. One of the inclusions that was marketed and changed was the 24 hour pizza. That is gone. Even by your own measure/criteria, I still should be allowed to cancel and get my full refund back. I do get pizza at 4 to 6 am. Due to time zone changes, I wake up at that time naturally, and want to eat pizza before I disembark. I don't know if all cruise lines are impacted by inflation as much as they are touting or as much as we individually are. They buy things at economies of scale from different suppliers around the world and objectively inflation has eased already.
  7. But I am always hungry on a cruise. lol at the bolded part. Funny and true and the best way to put it. The wait can be 20 min around 630. But the app allows you to book the reservation and continue enjoying your cruise until you get called, assuming that there are no glitches in the app (of which there are many)
  8. I am trying to. I am literally cannot cancel without losing the cost of my entire trip. And the cruise lines did complain when they didn't get the PPP loans.
  9. I really need low fairs to book with CCL again.
  10. If they change the product, then I should be able to cancel. Literally the definition of a bait and switch. Come for fillet mignon and get something else. They can sell my spot. Everyone here on CC says that the market is red hot, right?
  11. Thanks. Yea I can't sleep when I drink caffeine
  12. I STRONGLY disagree. Cutting out fillet mignon from the sea brunch is a big deal for me and a deal breaker. If I didn't have a nonrefundable booking, I would have cancelled. The crppy part is that I booked it, and then CCL changed the menu, which I don't think is fair. 👎 👎
  13. Hi, I have an upcoming PCL cruise next year and plan on attending the afternoon tea (not the royal afternoon tea). Some questions: 1. Is there a dress code? I don't recall there being one 2. What teas are included? Green tea? I don't recall there being any floral teas included w/o an upcharge, but I could be wrong. I don't drink caffeine, so green tea is the limit before I start getting headaches. 3. Does it happen daily? 4. Is there live music? 5. What pastries are they serving now? 6. Can you get coffee? Some of my guests like to mix coffee and tea. 7. Can you order ice cream during afternoon tea? Prior to the shutdown, a waiter would have to go somewhere to get it. But they were able to bring some with my cakes and etc. 8. Any tips or things that are not well known? Thanks.
  14. Yea the tea selection is not great. I don't recall if green tea is an upcharge either. When I was there, they didn't have free green tea. IDK bc they ran out or etc. Does anyone remember or know? Does anyone remember how often tea time is? Is it only on sea days? And for me, I am there for the sweets. lol. The banter isn't for me. I have such a bad sweet tooth, that I will substitute milk for vanilla ice cream in my tea. LOL! You can't do that at CCL, even for an upcharge.
  15. When you sign a release, the doctor's office can disclose necessary medical information to CCL when writing that letter. CCL would never check though. The letter should suffice.
  16. But if you don't drink the 15, then you're letting carnival win!
  17. I really like her^^ I just saw your signature and noticed that you sailed on NCL and RCL. If it was a spectrum in terms of what you actually see on average, I would place CCL closer to NCL. Spectrum: Unformal Formal <NCL---CCL--------RCL-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Cunnard>
  18. I am a doctor. While I am not an OBGYN, I was trained by a big time OBGYN who writes all the guidelines that we follow. He is a part of the World Health Organization and was on the panel that deemed the COVID vaccine ok to use in pregnant patients. The American College of Obstetrics and Genecology says that pregnant patients should not drink. Alcohol and Pregnancy | ACOG We can detox pregnant patients. I cannot tell you the the number of patients who "misremember" my recommendations, even when it is written in their chart and I print it out for them and hand it to them. No judgement; alcoholism is a disease. People will do anything to feed their addiction. I have personally delivered many babies (50+ at least) from mothers who were addicted to alcohol, meth, crack, etc.
