  1. Lol. Why so quick to defend a corporation? Relax. It was just a comment about how it looks. Not a big deal.
  2. I am all for letting ppl's freak flag fly. No problems here. I'm all for it. U do u beau. Again, my original point is that CCL is most likely penny pinching in order to maximize profits and minimize loss (hence my semantics comment). I don't think it has to do with the clientele.
  3. It doesn't surprise me. CCL has a lot of debt.
  4. So I guess what is keeping someone from buying stuff at the gift shop and going to the front desk and just saying that they didn't buy it?
  5. Stuff like that disappoints me. YTD isn't for everybody. I wish there was someone there to explain the pros and cons of YTD. I get that TA are supposed to do that. But sometimes the PVP don't do a good job. My old one was terrible.
  6. Semantics. They are still penny pinching. I understand it is to get back into the black and necessary, but it is still penny pinching.
  7. I know they aren't in the same class, but Virgin voyages (haven't been personally) and viking offer a lot for their included food offerings.
  8. Not my money, so I pick the Celebration. It's almost poetic. You can go celebrate your 30th anniversary on the Celebration. Lol.
  9. It sounds like it is most likely sold out. If you do decide to do YTD, you can go to restaurant on the first day before 4 pm and ask for them to change you. They might be able to help.
  10. Yea, I remember it being more towards $3 than 2 in summer 2018. IDK if they are doing flex prices like on RCL where it changes based on demand. Or maybe the waiter is pocketing the money (I kid)
  11. Yes there is a lot of waste. It's why I like to share with my guests. You can always order more, which I do
  12. I don't eat calamari or any sea food. So any fishy taste makes me barf. Because of this weird mental block, YTD is very handy bc I can sit by myself when my main party decides to order tons of seafood. Another benefit of YTD @BarbieGee
  13. I can't imagine they would be. CCL is just penny pinching to maximize profits
  14. I'll take that job. I do that anyways. Might as well make some money while at it. lol
  15. I hear that frog legs and alligator taste like fishy chicken.
  16. Thanks for letting me know. CC is such a great source of info
  17. Thanks to the both for your clarification. I very clearly remember being asked for my card on CCL. Perhaps they ran out of green tea on the one tea time I did with CCL and only had lipton tea? I'll check out tea time one last time on my next cruise on Thanksgiving. Hopefully there aren't too many cutbacks (lol! A man can dream right?).
  18. Yea. To me, the negatives of fixed dining is VASTLY outweighted by YTD.
  19. This thread is to help you. So I don't think it's that off topic, lol MTD: same exact program as NCL - allows you to sit in the MDR 2x per night. - you sit at a different table ea time. There are pros and cons to this. If you don't like your neighbor or if someone eats something that is very smelly, you can easily move - flexibility in your schedule if you want to do something. - if you aren't hungry at 5:30, no problem. come back whenever you are. Fixed time - you can only sit down once per night. I will let the other proponents of fixed time dining tell you about the pros. The pros (like service and familiarity) aren't things that I value in my vacation.
  20. I think they stop taking orders at like 9 pm. I don't recall. If MTD or w/e it's called is not available when you booked, it may have been sold out already. Call your TA or try to switch it when you first arrive on the ship. There are many discussions on fixed vs MTD. I am firmly in the MTD as I will visit the MDR 2x per night sometimes.
  21. Another example to bolster your point: Virgin. They initially had a very meager loyalty program. Now they are actively expanding it. How bad is P&O doing? I am an American so IDK anything about P&O other than being the UK cousin of PCL
  22. very thoughtful analysis. For me, just (very) fringe benefits. But I see how it is sticky for some.
  23. fair enough. Are they typically on longer cruises? I strongly prefer the shorter cruises on CCL bc of the booze cruise atmosphere.
