  1. To me, it should not be a surprise. But I have worked in person during the entire pandemic. So I expected this.
  2. These traditions were gone since 2018, if not 2010 when I took my first CCL cruise. My suggestion is to lower you expectations. Like a lot.
  3. Actually, you'd be surprise what passes. I've seen tank tops. Doesn't bother me. To each their own.
  4. Wow, covid is spreading on cruise ships! Who could have guessed it?
  5. I'm just there for the food, lol. I don't remember there being live music on CCL. There is on other lines
  6. Unfortunately, you should know that the MDR closes at 12pm on sea days (it's not open on port days). It gets really busy.
  7. It depends on your tolerance and how heavy of a packer you are.
  8. Based on your own admission^^^, I would say get 2 rooms. It's your vacation too. Your friend has a partner who is very introverted where going is a non-starter. It's part of the deal and they should think of it as like paying for taxes. I will say though that I have seen people stay in their room the entire time during a cruise. That is an option if they can muster hanging out with you for the time it takes to embark and disembark. That's like only a total of 2 hours at most. But I get it if they are very introverted/agoraphobic and can't do that.
  9. I have sailed with CCL and RCL post restart. The food on CCL MDR is worst than the food in RCL MDR. Some food on CCL has tasted old or are very dry. Same goes for the buffet. So you may want to check other venues while on board. Happy cruising
  10. I run for the shade and I am all about the fillet mignon. Different strokes.
  11. Right. There is no way to credit you on CCL for watching the video. PCL there is.
  12. I sometimes think they are just saying that. I have overheard workers saying that 100 pax still have checked in despite setting sail.
  13. lol, I have yet to have a good experience with customer service even prior to covid. they are terrible. CCL provides better customer service than PCL. Also, PCL uses a 3rd party agency to provide customer service. All these aspects should impact the customer experience.
  14. makes sense thanks for the clarification. I have seen some pics and the ships were very gaudy. Seems like they would fit in the CCL fleet.
  15. You can order small portions. Most waiters will accommodate you. But I do find it easier to just split the entrée with somebody. Less work for everyone.
  16. you don't have to watch the video. IDK how they credit you for watching it on your TV etc. When you get on, the crew will be very insistent that you go do your muster station. It's usually 1 level higher from the atrium. I almost always ignore and go straight to the buffet. My excuses: 1. Food. 2. I am carrying all my bags
  17. Is money no object? Are you ok with older ships? I would pick the Glory. You haven't been to NOLA before so it will be new. Sounds like you want to go to NOLA. You aren't missing much imho, but it's something new for you. The casinos big but not as flashy as LV. Harriah's is alright. I assume NOLA will be punishingly humid in Aug, but you will need to ask someone for their opinion on that.
  18. Agree. Be smart. With that being said, I have done a LOT of dumb things as a tourist where I could have easily been mugged.
  19. Looks good. Can't wait to try it this Thanksgiving. I gotta start my diet now so that I can make some room, lol
  20. Thanks everybody. I always forget about Alfredo's having a charge or not
  21. Thanks! Are these all complimentary?
