We just recently (earlier this year) did the Iceland/Norway itinerary. Not *exactly* the same as what you're asking about but I don't think you'll be disappointed in either!

Just received our medallions for our upcoming cruise. We received an extra item from what we have normally gotten in the past. Some (all?) of you may have seen this before... It *may* be because this is the first time we have booked the Premier Fare Package...I don't know. Normally we just get the medallion and the lanyard with the clear plastic holder (we never order any accessories.) Anyway...as you can see there is an additional interesting item...the blue clip device. It springs open and *appears* to allow you to clip it onto a piece of clothing or maybe a lapel. I doubt that we will use this, but I thought it was pretty interesting. Certainly not worth all of the hoopla over the Premier package!

Yes, as @NavyVeteran says...you do both...but you can do in any order you like.

We have done this several times now. They will *generally* load up a bus at your hotel and leave anywhere from about 10:30-11:00am. You will NOT get there in time to do lunch in the MDR (in my experience.)

I know you can upgrade to the Premier drink package once on board...but can you upgrade to the Premier Fare Package?

Yep! We have *never* had to show that dumb code for any cruise in about 10 cruises since the Medallion App was first released. Nor have we needed the app at all to check in...for both domestic and Southampton departures.

Hah! I guess I didn't know that...but it makes sense given the way Princess has revived so many different previous ship names.

*IF* our cabin is ready (sometimes) we prefer to dump our carry-on stuff and then set about doing the safety video and muster station to get all that out of the way. Then...we're usually starving, so off to find something to eat. It almost always ends up being the buffet because we're NEVER to the port in time to get into an MDR for lunch.
